It’s amazing seeing some of the parallels from the 2009 season today. Cost cutting, lack of testing, talks of fuel injection (EFI was introduced in 2012), and a spec car that’s durable. Similar to what today’s NASCAR looks like
@@holdenmcmillen4307 Yeah, isn't even like the 90's when most teams got chassis' from Mike Laughlin or Ronnie Hopkins. Every chassis is basically the same and there's not really a lot teams can do to the cars.
That Dale Jr interview was strange. He definitely was throwing shade at Kyle Busch with the comment about younger guys having an issue with his popularity.
The 2009 Daytona 500 overall was out of character for him, just seemed out of it the entire race. Even in this interview he really didn't have a clear answer, like he himself didn't know what was going on.
from late 2008 until mid 2012 junior was going through a lot in his life, he didnt even have a house to live in he was living out of his garage while his new home was getting built. he also started doubting his own driving ability and thats not good.
@@JRVideo22 listen to his podcast with tony jr he did, they mention it in passing and it wasnt a normal garage ofc it had a top-level floor like apartment to it
Thanks a lot for these Voti, I've never seen many of these races in 2008-2010 because they never were in HD. Looking forward to the rest!
Mike Joy proves his wheel knowledge yet again with the Dan Gurney stories under caution early in the race

Difference is teams still built their cars in 2009.

The race where I fully learned and understood the method of starting and parking

1:17:45 DW was right
I don't know why but Larry Mac's "There's the whole family" comment on Digger Cam at 2:01:25 had me laughing hysterically.
2006 NBC starting grid music being played in the Dale Jr interview
how does dale jr. drive like that, still to this day i dont understand it
I've always wanted to hear present day Dale's thoughts on the interview he did with Darrell in the pre-race. Was out of character for sure to me
