Feel free to comment.
At that time "Dallas" was almost the center of my life. Feels like yesterday.
It seemed like at 0:21 Sue Ellen wanted to laugh or giggle after JR's comment about the relationship not lasting.Linda Grey was so beautiful
Love that huge Lincoln Mark of Jock's. Know why he started in the oil business? To feed that car! Classic Detroit Iron!
I think Jock was the only Ewing who drove an American car
Sue Ellen's first car was a 1978 Mercury Colony Park station wagon
Jock was Ewing oil will always be that lincoln Mk5 was him ALL Over and that Gold chain with that Lion charm he was 👑 Papa Ewing
I’ll bet none of the Ewing, waited in lines to fill their cars. That sure was fun....
@11a2bdestruct I wish they would have done more of the show on location at the Duncan ranch in Texas. It adds a great reality to the show. Take this scene, for example: the view of the Texas landscape during the breakfast, Jock walking past the corrals, and the bright Texas sunshine. Dallas's later years they relied too much on studio sets of oil company offices, etc. Scenes like this one show the Ewings as Texas ranchers, where they got their real start. Anyway, thx for posting this video!
I always enjoyed the first half of every season more than the second.
Great scene with Jock and Ray
Was this before or after he found out Ray was his son ?
@@willisapril Ray was crazy about about Jock his Daddy he took his deaf real Hard He can get anything from Jock Father and son love
Me Too, Dallas was my favourite show When I was young in the eighties
"I detected a distinct chill in the air didn't you?"- JR
Great quote, makes me smile every time.
Great to see a "real" scene of the Southfork Ranch. I wish they would have had more of this in the series.
Sue Ellen was hot.
It seemed to me anyway that they did have a lot of scenes on location at the real Southfork for the first few months of each season. Then it was obvious later on in the season that when they had outside shots or scenes you knew they were back on the soundstage.
Man I miss Jock!
Heck we miss all of them.
same here
He was a great actor!! I just him in an episode of The Lucy Show from the early 60’s!!
Thank you for uploading this clip of DALLAS.

My favorite part of Dallas when they are at south fork is when they are outside at the real ranch when on location in Texas. You can tell after the first 12-13 episodes of each season, they start filming back at Lorimar Studios in California.
You could sense a distinct but quiet tension between Bobby and Pam as well as Bobby and Jock. I really liked the scene between Jock and Ray. I always pictured Jock as one of the good guys. I never thought he was a ballance between Bobby and JR.
@MrsBobbyJamesEwing I agree! I like all the scenes filmed on location in Dallas, especially those at Southfork. It gave the show an authenticity that shows like Dynasty lacked. I don't think Dynasty filmed even one scene in Denver. Pam's Porshe was cool. I am sure she didn't buy it with her salary from The Store.
Hahaha!
If it wasn’t for Jock and JR I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t love Dallas as much as I do!
I have the distinct impression that someone took a still from this episode in order to paint that iconic portrait of Jock that hung in the living room at SF.
Pam,Bobby and Miss Ellie.❤
Love Jim Davis as jock Ewing
Linda grey. Such a beautiful lady. I used to love this show
she's literally the worst actress of all of them
Im Arabian i watched this serie in 1982..it was really a nice time.
always liked Jocks facial expressions .
The best looking guy on the show
@@zuzanazuscinova5209 yeah he was - Never noticed that before
jock got that bling bling.
At approximately 0:32 Miss Ellie asks Jock "How was the meeting with Punk Anderson?" in which he said "Just fine, Miss Ellie".
You can tell by the pitch of his voice that he doesn't want to talk about it.
May 09, 2020 @ 12:05 am
Jim Davis is wonderful.
JR never got cocky with Jock the way Bobby did.
As JR said to his son...I loved my daddy. I respected my daddy. But most of all I feared my daddy.
That's because Jr was more of Jocks favorite or at least it appeared that way and Bobby was Elle favorite
According to Bobby when Jock had his heart attack, “I was Daddy’s favorite, Momma was always particular to Gary, and that left.....JR.”
Bobby wasn't afraid of jock like JR was but was a much better man and son than JR ever was..
He was helping jock out and all he wanted was jocks consideration to let him know about moving money around. Yes jock has the right to do what he wants , it is his company but u cant have ur cake and eat it to if u expect Bobby to run the company. Either let me run it MY WAY or u run it yourself.
1st born compared to last child. Bobby was spoiled per Miss. Ellie, but Bobby had a moral compass, J.R. did not.
Aww, don't worry about it. I got into it "Bad" with a Fan of The Sopranos because of the scene with Furio. He reminded me that it was a Show but sometimes you get so into the Show and Characters you forget that it is a Show.
Was this filmed at the actual "Southfork Ranch" near Dallas TX? It looks too real to be a Hollywood set.
Yes. The real ranch. They filmed there every summer from 1978 - 1988. The last 2 seasons they stopped coming to Texas, for financial reasons. Too $$ as the show was nearing its end.
Bobby, when your wife gives you that look, and drives away in a huff, it means you bring your behind home on time.
Victoria and Linda were insanely beautiful
"I don't know. The other day, he fought with me in front of my friends, and I don't take that from NOBODY!"
Gotta' love Jim Davis as Jock Ewing.
"Real power is something you TAKE!!!" Jock was the man. LOL!
Clearly Pamela was way too spoiled. Boddy was running a Billion dollar company and she didn't think that he would have to miss a couple of dinners. As pissed as Pamela was, she sure as hell had no issues with driving his fancy cars and spending all that money.
Pam didn't care about all that. Remember she had her own job. She didn't want to be like Sue Ellen just be a trophy wife. She had no problems leaving Bobby if she wasn't happy.
Right. You don’t run a company like Ewing Oil punching a clock from 8 to 5
@zooeyhall interiors were filmed at MGM. A replica of the pool side was also built at MGM as well. However, not all pool side scenes were filmed at MGM. But as 11a2 stated, the scenes with an overcast were most likely filmed on a soundstage. Also, another way you can determine if the pool side scenes were filmed at MGM is when someone arrives and shuts their car door, it sounds as if they are in an enclosed area like a soundstage. They are not outdoors.
I’m driving my car off like that too the next time my man decides he’s not gonna coming home to eat dinner with me.
It's not like she's making the dinner or anything, lol.
She drove right over the Ewing grass.
Pam drove like that whether she was angry or not.
I would definitely come home to Pam.
Ray was a good person. I always liked the scenes with him and Jock
Dallas was my favorite show
John Brown it’s one of the best shows period
Dallas TV program video
Dallas TV programme video Dallas TV programme video
John Brown mine also
Mine as well
Mine's too
What's more important, the banker or your wife? That look Pam had on her face before she got in that Porsche was priceless.
Yes I agree
Jock is so good looking. Love his hair. Just like my late Dad wore his at that time.
VERY handsome guy. My afv was Ray....SO SEXY
Jock is blingin.
the first 12 episodes of their seasons, the exteriors were filmed in texas.. u can clearly see they have wider shots and horses around along with real sunlight..
Except at night. All were studio
When I look at The Latin Help I sometimes wonder if that inspired The Producers on The Bold & The Beautiful. Remember they had a Maid named Maria who served The Forrester Family on The Day that Ridge #1 played by Ronn Moss was getting married. Teri Linn Garr played Kristen #1 and Clayton Norcross played Thorne #1. Also, Ingo Rademacher now plays Thorne Forrester #4 who worked with Megan Markle on The Soap Opera The Young & The Restless. Also on Episode #2 they had a Houseman who was also of Latin background.
Was this filmed at the actual "Southfork Ranch" in Texas? It doesn't look like anything in Hollywood, where I understood most of the show's filming took place.
Yes, they filmed there, in Texas, 2 months every summer from 1978 - 1989. Reduced budgets stopped them from going to Texas, the final 2 seasons.
It's amazing how Bobby was mad at Pam because after she lost the baby she was working alot and didn't have time for him and now Pam is mad that Bobby don't have time for him.
You mean "Bobby don't [sic] have time for *her*?"
I absolutely hated how Bobby was so dense and close minded on this season. It seem's that he just didn't remember he was married!
What was he supposed to do? Kiss pams feet all day? Being an oil man was his purpose. Pam Sneaking off and making out in a hotel room with that creepy Alex guy was unacceptable.
During the short times j.r. and sue ellen got along with each other
they made a great sarcasim team.
It seemed like Jr and Sue Ellen were against Bobby and Pam. Jr and Sue Ellen were more of a marriage that was made based on appearances and financial stability where Bobby and Pam really loved each other
I loved the scenes where they ate poolside
Every meal was like a catered buffet.
Good ole country Breakfast with the Ewings
Would love to eat breakfast outside at Southfork. What a beautiful place.
jock always treated ray like a son
Jim davis did seem to be leaning on ray for support it's one thing to put his hand on rays shoulder but he was putting weight on it as well
Thanks lots for this. :D
Ray sure looks like a younger version of Jock in this clip.
Aren't J.R. and Bobby getting a little too old to live with Mommy and Daddy?
The inside set is the same as lampoons Christmas vacation. I have a friend who works in the Hollywood back lot..
He fought with me in front of my friends. I dont take that shit from nobody! True words Rip Jock
I hated it when they filmed the outside scenes in the studio. It was so obvious, with the fake background and the blue bottomed pool.
Pam always was a little wild behind the wheel.
She was but she always looked great.
I ♥️ Bobby!!!!
Va rugam vrem Dallas dava se poate si pe romaneste,si tot serialul
Leslie Ann Down looks so young and different from the way she now looks in the 'Bold & Beautiful'
Great scene with Jock and Ray both of them were real close to each other
Pam is a bundle of contradictions. In the Pilot Episodes most notably Digger's Daughter and Spy In The House, she went on about how he'd make a great executive, he's trying his best to show he's just as good as Jock & JR and she gets upset. At least he doesn't say to her "I'm working late tonight", the many times JR Said it to Sue Ellen.
laminage they both went through the same thing together. There was a time Pam was working too much after she lost her second baby and Bobby was mad too.
Oh I didn't know that. Thanks for reminding me. At least Pam "Worked". Sue Ellen never did.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
it would have been sweet to be the youngest son of ole Jock Ewing. I would have just sat next to older brother JR and rarely said a word just enjoyed all the comedy. Then after these breakfasts went about my business goofing off and running my model trains. I have a feeling as long as I helped out on the ranch and stayed out of all the oil business bullshit, life was nice and easy.
You would have been called a crazy ol cowboy by JR then started a pool fight.
What was the deal with Anderson? Jock went silent.
John Drake I think it was the Tokapa Lake Project. They wanted to buy some wildlife areas and build a resort. Jock was silent because he fought with Bobby the previous day over taking Ewing Oil funds to Finance his end. In addition it would cause problems with Miss Ellie as she would work with the daughters of the Alamo to stop the Tokapa development, not initially knowing that Jock was one of developers.
@@seansack609 Thanks for the backstory.
Why does Jock call his wife Ms. Elle?
Her name was Eleanor and that was her nickname.
It's a sign of respect and says she's the head female of their homestead.
It was a show of honor and respect. An old time tradition
Pamela now understanding what Sue Ellen dealt with.
Theresa i always liked imagine all the family drama she worked amidst
The cool girl and the cool Porsche 911 Targa....
Looking back I would have loved to have eaten Breakfast at Southfork. I think that one of Jock & Miss Ellie's favorite Breakfast was Huevos Ranchero (Ranch Style Eggs) roughly translated into English.
I'm bingeing right now and what I don't get was the race to have a baby between Sue Ellen and Pam, for the "first heir" when LUCY was the first born Ewing grandchild, child of Garys
It was for Sue Ellen and Jr to have the first Ewing grandchild that was a boy to carry on that Ewing name
Pam just drove over that grass as if it were pavement...lol
This is a time that real men existed
I believe you meant November 2016...
Pam looked hot bouncing while she walked.
Pam, please. Give Bobby a break. Running a big company is not a typical 9 to 5 job.
Tensions
Jock should have shown Spoiled Bobby's anthem "If you don't like the way I run things , just say so and I am outta here!" Emotional blackmailing your father and Mother is wrong .JR should have ran the company after all it was Jock then JR that took the chances and made it the biggest Independent Oil Company in the SouthWest. Jock's dream.. which JR Made true, while Jock was alive.
That's not how a Porsche Targa sounds ...
I always enjoyed the scenes filmed at the actual Southfork Ranch. That set with the fake background was hideous.
@Fanik10 Ain't that the truth ... I'm really happy ... but I have no f***ing money!
everywhere is business before family. It’s life.
logic, natural.
Who said the opposite is disconnected from life and authentic realities.
Jock was very important to the show so important they tried to replace him with Clayton it didn’t work love the seasons with Jock in it
I think as many girlfriends as Bobby had Pam was always his true love.
Build the wall!
There really was a southfork ranch the owners must of made thousands millions being filmed there
Pam always drives on the grass.
I would have just worked with ole Ray and stayed out of the bullshit. I admit I would have laughed my ass off at the breakfast and dinner table listening to older brother JR sass Bobby, Sue Ellen, Pam and goofy Lucy.
JR was hot
I never could understand why J.R. and SueEllen had so much say over Lucy. The grandparents should have been her guardians and had all say over her life, not the other two.
@SilenceIKissYou Money can't buy happiness
1981
ANYONE CAN ANSWER THIS QUESTION:
Who was the toughest Ewing, Jock, JR, or John Ross?
Jock, Bobby, Ray. Never saw Gary or JR get in any fights. But when it comes to shooting, my money goes to JR
Jock. Hands down
If Jock Ewing was black he would be a cross between my daddy and grandfather.

Notice every female servant was called Teresa?
rich people are weird
If I was married to Bobby in this episode if though we were working very hard we would have the time to be together, if Bobby was not coming home for dinner he would have told me that he call me later saying his meeting was running late I would say ok I will wait for you to come home then I would walk out with Bobby to his car he would say I love you liane have a good day call you later before my meeting I would say I love you too bobby have a good day also❤️😘see you tonight
Victoria Principal is girl beautiful.
Waste of a perfectly good Porsche
Good riddance to Hagman, Jim David Ken kercheval and Barbara bellgeddes. I couldn't stand the entire cast.
Typical "Pamela Ewing/Victoria Principal" . . Always there to support, preach and lecture then bitch & moan while driving off in the brand new Porche.
What happened to the Corvette?
Gezz if Bobby was my husband in this episode I asked him if he was coming home for dinner he says no I have a meeting with the guy from the bank I will be home late I would say ok I will miss at dinner tonight I will wait up for you, Bobby says liane I will call before the meeting I say ok he says u angry with me for missing dinner tonight I say no u have business to take care of I know sometimes u May be late coming home I understand not a selfish wife, Bobby says oh liane u so understanding I love you so much say love u so much too. See you later tonight talk later when you call.I also would not give Bobby a attitude if he wasn’t coming home for dinner because of his meeting with the guy Les from the bank, Bobby says to me again thank you liane for being so understanding I say again I do understand that you have business to take care but u always call me before the meeting which I appreciate because I love you so much, Bobby says I was smart enough to marry you liane I say I have been so happy married to you as well. He says bye honey love u call u later
