When I was in junior high school (1971), sportsmanship was taught and so valued that during the sports banquet nights, not only was a trophy award given to the best athlete in that sport, but an additional trophy award was given for "best sportsmanship." Young athletes took pride in that particular award. I wonder if such an award even exists in today's athletics.

I grew up in the basketball world my entire life. From school basketball, aau, college games etc. Angel Reese became so hated when she made a hand gesture against another player who was white. This sparked a race war on social media. Now you have more viewers and people supporting both girls all because of race. Some people probably never followed Caitlyn's and Angel's careers prior to the viral clip. Now she's a bully because she's playing the game how its been played for decades. Trash talking is apart of contact sports. Its not bullying. The internet made it about race and hate.
When you're a bully like that, you better win the title because people are going to talk shit back when you lose. And they are.

Magic Johnson and Larry Bird saved the NBA. They brought it Roaring back. Both very likeable guys.. Didn't make crazy comments = No polarity. There hasn't been as much success since. Parents like to sit and watch a game with their kids and not have to say "Don't ever act like that".
I don't hate her or her play. She seems a bit over the top on celebrations, though. That she could tone down. Clark did the John Cena to Van Lith, then at Louisville last year, after winning in the elite 8, she also taunts crowds that come to boo her. It feels more fun that what Reese does. Reese feels more hurtful, like a bully standing over the wimp they just pounded.

That was a well-played game on both sides. Two things were key. Caitlin Clark hitting those threes at the start of the game got Iowa off to a fast start, and those three-pointers to start the third quarter just took the momentum away from LSU and set the tone for the second half. I thought that continuing to air grievances in the post-game conference took away from LSU's effort and winning season.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. However not everyone knows what it's like to be in an actual moment of standing on the sideline coaching a game (yes I am a coach)...it's very challenging making decisions from the sideline. It's also challenging when you been chosen to fulfill a role such as Angel Reese on and off the court. There's nothing wrong with her breaking down on live TV....those of us who have these type of roles break down all of the time BEHIND CLOSED DOORS cause we feel we have have to be strong for others. As individual I'm willing to vet she is still learning how to be in the spotlight while remaining true to herself. Honestly the bigger picture is all of the envy and hate aimed her way has shined the light finally on WOMENS COLLEGE BASKETBALL❤❤❤

Lsu only plays like 7 players or so. They had no choice but to leave van lith on Clarke. Van lith is too slow to try and cover clark. Reese had 20 rebounds. Clarke needs to win championship. Reese has hers.

On the up, LSU go set up to fail. There coach picked the shortest by height and arm legth to cover Caitlin. Catilin knew her defender was incapable and she took advantage of it. A real coach would have called time out and made adjustments well before 41 pts were scored. The ladies at LSU had a stadium full of haters, racist, bigots to include their sell out coach.
