I played this game on ps2 when I was 5-8, I'm 14 now and just beat the first game in two sittings and I'm 60% through the 2nd one in two sittings. Man all the nostalgia of all the dialogue, sound tracks, controls, missions, enemies, and allies is really just something. In the beginning when Daxter falls into the dark eco and Samos is scolding him I remembered all of the dialogue word for word from 6 years ago. I would get home from elementary school and play this game all day, go to bed, wake up, play it for 30 minutes, go to school, come back, and play until bed time. This game was my entire gaming life up until my parents bought a pc back in 2014.

Hope we get a Jak 4 that's just as much a timeless classic as the first three. Lost my shit when I found out there was a precursor orb game on the app store
imagine living in sandover village and close to you is sentinel beach, you have a small farm and a big happy family with good neighbours around, that is how i imagine paradise or a small measure of peace we all seek
Same here. My dad got a PS2 from a friend of his and got a whole collection of games. Included among them were this, Fairly Odd Parents: Shadow Showdown, and Crash Bandicoot: Twinsanity
This was my first ever PS2 game as a child, and I was absolutely obsessed with it. The game will always hold a special place in my heart ❤️ The only criticism I have is that it’s a shame the next two games weren’t quite the same 😢
the old times... i just wanna cry becawue it brings old memories and i can't play it, becasue i am infinitly grounded on PS3... i missed them!!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
@@helloimisaac4061 Well, my mother thinks that the PS3 with the games was a trouble-maker... So i tried to make her ungrounded me so i can finally feel the good feeling ofbthe adventure... Yeah, my father isn't against me in some piont, but maybe i can find the way how to play it... So that's why. 😥😥😥😥😞😞😞😞
This will game will always be one of my favs and have a special place. It was the first video game I bought on my own with my own money when I was 8 years old
Even though I remember never being able to get very far in this game for not understanding what they were saying, this seeing this game for the first time since 15 years is like a huge nostalgia trip.
First game I got when my parents bought me and my brothers a ps2. Just watching the beginning of game play on sentinel beach reminds me of a Christmas long ago 😢😅. Thank you for uploading I am enjoying just watching the gameplay and thinking of simpler times
If you know about this game your my brother, no one else will get how special this game was besides us so I know I don’t know you but I love you brother ❤
I remember climbing to the top of places on the beach and just watch the sunset and thought it was amazing graphics at the time with the wind and all. Think we all took amazing adventures just in another realm.
One of the best things about this game to me was that each location was seamless into the next. No waiting on loading screens for longer than you’re actually playing. Absolutely marvelous design.
I remember this from either playing it myself or seeing someone else play it but I saw an image of the guy and immediately thought ‘wait. I swear I remember his face with those ears’
Something I've noticed is that collecting Precursor Orbs is actually the hardest part about this game, not the Power Cells. You wanna complete this game to 100%, and if you miss one orb, it's almost impossible to find
Okay I remember playing this with my dad when I was 5 years old, and coming back 20+ years to revisit the nostalgia...I am SHOCKED with how good this looks for a 2001 PS2 game?? The voice acting and character expressions are so good! I would love it if they re-released this game and just updated the graphics and textures, everything else honestly still holds up really well!
Thats ND for you. Since 1996 to present they were able to surpass even high end PCs of their respective eras. Even Jak 1 showcased a better streaming technology than PCs hard drives or N64 cartridges despite PS2 DVD being way slower.
I will always love this series of games. Just reminds me of playing in our cold basement game room. Me and my brother early on a Saturday morning. Playing this and watching yu-gi-oh or Like Mike lol. My has breakfast going and dads drinking coffee watching sportscenter in his old ass man robe lol. Core memory
I've been watching my wife at time been playing this game, I considered it very childishly and cartoonish back then, I played ICO, Onimusha, Baldur's gate back then. Needles to say 20 years after I'm hooked on this game, nostalgia really got me w/ this one)
I just realised there's foreshadowing here when he says "the answer lies on the shoulders of a young boy" The answer literally is on the shoulder of Jak. Daxter was turned into a precursor which we end up finding out at the end of Jak 2
Wow, I think of my life in the state of the world and how so many things have changed. Life has been rough for me recently. But seeing this literally just opened whole entire core memories that I didn't even know existed. No other game has the vibe this one does.
Yeah, the fact that Jak And Daxter being an open world was able to surprass Crash visuals that were the equivalent of a tech demo for how cramped they are, is unmatched. Nowadays a open world PS5 game is not able to look better than a linear PS4 game.
Merci.😭❤️.
I remember playing all three all the time with my brothers and sometimes my cousins on PS3, it pissed us off how we couldn't get passed the first level, but hey, we were 5
It took me like 11+ hours of playthrough as a kid to get to Rock Village. I then stopped playing the game when one of my little siblings accidentally copied their own file over mine and sent me back to the beginning. I was SO disappointed and frustrated. I've never played it again or watched any playthroughs since then, and that was about 10 years ago. I can't believe you got to Rock Village in barely an hour and a half. I thought I was moderately good at the game back then.
I love this game! Since I was first introduced to it as a 9 and 1/2 year old almost 10 year old boy! The nostalgia makes me want to play it again but my PlayStation 2 got weaker and weaker until it died in 2019.
I miss playing this as a child. Life was better and everything was new. Its been like 20 years

But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God.
-Acts 20:24
Someone said, “The measure of a life, after all, is not its duration but its donation.”
It’s important to think about what kind of donation our lives are making. In Acts 20, the apostle Paul identified what the measure of a person ought to be and the qualities we should see in the life of a leader.
In a way, every Christian is a leader. We may be leading our children. Or, we may be examples to younger believers. But we need to take to heart what Paul says.
This was an emotional moment for the apostle. He was giving his final words to the leaders of the church of Ephesus. Paul had spent time ministering to them, helping them, praying for them, and caring for them. But he was going away.
In effect Paul was saying, “This is what I want you to remember. These are things that should describe your walk with God.
He told them, “But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God” (verse 24)
The New King James Version puts it this way: “But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.”
Paul compared himself to a runner in a race. Using the same analogy in 1 Corinthians, he said, “Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win!” (9:24)
We can get off track in the race of life. That’s why it’s important to focus on our own race and not on the race others are running.
It’s also important for us to understand that our times are in God’s hands. Our lives are a gift to us from God. God decides when they begin. And God decides when they end.
Paul wasn’t saying that life wasn’t important, because he wrote to the believers in Philippi, “For to me, living means living for Christ, and dying is even better” (Philippians 1:21)
Paul was simply saying that he knew his life was a gift from God.
In his book Nearing Home, Billy Graham wrote, “I often wonder if God, in His sovereignty, allows the eyesight of the aged to cast a dim view of the here and now so that we may focus our spiritual eyes on the ever after.”
As we see the frailty of life, especially when we’ve lost a loved one, eternity becomes more tangible and important to us.
The length of our lives is determined by God, not by us. So, we want to make sure that we’re moving in the right direction now. The evening of our life is determined by the morning of it. The end is determined by the beginning

My favorite part of playing this game was hearing daxters snarky comments whenever I died lol

This drove me crazy as a kid. "Shut the fuck up, Daxter, I get it already!"

What happened to Jak ll and lll HD ?
Hope we get a Jak 4 that's just as much a timeless classic as the first three. Lost my shit when I found out there was a precursor orb game on the app store
Good man
Just the music of this game takes me straight back.
imagine living in sandover village and close to you is sentinel beach, you have a small farm and a big happy family with good neighbours around, that is how i imagine paradise or a small measure of peace we all seek
This was the first video game I ever played, 2002 Christmas morning, brings back a lot of memories.
Same here! Got it with my ps2 😂 oh the memories ❤
Same here. My dad got a PS2 from a friend of his and got a whole collection of games. Included among them were this, Fairly Odd Parents: Shadow Showdown, and Crash Bandicoot: Twinsanity
This was my first ever PS2 game as a child, and I was absolutely obsessed with it.
The game will always hold a special place in my heart ❤️
The only criticism I have is that it’s a shame the next two games weren’t quite the same 😢
the old times... i just wanna cry becawue it brings old memories and i can't play it, becasue i am infinitly grounded on PS3... i missed them!!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
why what you do
@@helloimisaac4061 Well, my mother thinks that the PS3 with the games was a trouble-maker... So i tried to make her ungrounded me so i can finally feel the good feeling ofbthe adventure... Yeah, my father isn't against me in some piont, but maybe i can find the way how to play it... So that's why. 😥😥😥😥😞😞😞😞
@@SakuraSongFurry hopefully by now you were able to play again!
This game was my childhood. So. Many days after school so many times this game was great never again will they make ‘em like this
If I ever kidnap a Jak and Daxter speedrunner, I’m going to use this video to torture them.
I have played this game for years and I still have not finished it 😔
It's so depressing that I'll never be 7 years old playing this game again
RIP Donte Remember we would play this on weekends 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
This was my first video game and i feel like no one has ever heard of it. Thank you for plying it.
Not to be that guy but Jak and Daxter isn't exactly an indie game lol.
I use to love love love this game....stupid cleaning people stole it 🥺 I was still in hs
Damn those cleaning people
Lol, blame the help
Damn messicans
One of the best games ever made :)
The best saga of Ps2
@@drakovolt I agree. Well, after GTA II- San Andreas
Damn this looks so much better than the PS4 version. Disappointed that they couldn't just make it PS4 compatible.
Yup unfortunately the PS4 version is a port of PS2 while the PS3 one was a HD remaster. Hopefully they do something for the 20th anniversary
@@firionkaiser8291 is it the pal port or the us port that's bad?
@@firionkaiser8291 bruh really? that’s bullshit. why would they port the PS2 version, that’s so fucking stupid to me.
dumbasses.
So don’t buy a ps4 to play this game? I
I can still remember getting off the bus, running to my room and playing this while I wait for mom to cook dinner. 😅
You don’t realize how treasured moments are until they’re gone. Fortunately I have a ps2 now 😎
Brought back memories 😓 the fishing part use to have me fucked up 😂😂
Okay I remember playing this with my dad when I was 5 years old, and coming back 20+ years to revisit the nostalgia...I am SHOCKED with how good this looks for a 2001 PS2 game?? The voice acting and character expressions are so good!
I would love it if they re-released this game and just updated the graphics and textures, everything else honestly still holds up really well!
Graphics are no where near as bad as you'd think they'd be.
Thats ND for you. Since 1996 to present they were able to surpass even high end PCs of their respective eras.
Even Jak 1 showcased a better streaming technology than PCs hard drives or N64 cartridges despite PS2 DVD being way slower.
I just bought the entire collection to relive my childhood and then some
My childhood
I will always love this series of games. Just reminds me of playing in our cold basement game room. Me and my brother early on a Saturday morning. Playing this and watching yu-gi-oh or Like Mike lol. My has breakfast going and dads drinking coffee watching sportscenter in his old ass man robe lol. Core memory
Man, I FRIGGIN Loved this game.
First game I ever 100% completed.
I've been watching my wife at time been playing this game, I considered it very childishly and cartoonish back then, I played ICO, Onimusha, Baldur's gate back then. Needles to say 20 years after I'm hooked on this game, nostalgia really got me w/ this one)
I just realised there's foreshadowing here when he says "the answer lies on the shoulders of a young boy"
The answer literally is on the shoulder of Jak. Daxter was turned into a precursor which we end up finding out at the end of Jak 2
It's funny how this series went from a wholesome game for everyone while the next game was a Teen rated game with a dark story.
This game was so ahead of its time!
I remember when I didn't understand anything they said I just explored brings memories
Thank you for unlocking a core childhood memory for me
That scream from Daxter makes me laugh so hard!! Never gets old🤣
I love this game! I remember being so gobsmacked by the second game and how different it was!!! Such an awesome series
I remember every Saturday morning i get up and binge play Jak and Daxter the precursor legacy damn I wish I could turn back time 😭.
This game is sooo underrated in mainstream it’s sad. This game is amazing, the peak of gaming!!!!
I remember beating this game back in the day, this game was so much longer then I thought it would be. Classic.
I’m 21 currently replaying this on my jailbroken ps vita. Life is great gentlemen, so many memories.
Ahh, me playing this on my ps2-ps3 with my grandpa back when he was alive..
I remember this game jak
And dexter my favorite game my sister have Play station
I would give anything to go back to 2001 when I played this game for the first time as a 12 year old. This was the best game in the series.
Had to show my little cousin what the best game ever looks like there will never be games like this again
the memories will never fade this is my childhood and it will forever stay that way
:*)
I just wanted to feel young again, for a bit. Thanks for the video.
Happy 20th Anniversary
Man I miss this game I’m already playing Jak 3 and 2 on my PS5
Hands down one of the best games as a kid! The whole series is great.
I remember swimming to the out of bounds area. In one word, heart attack.
Na this game was legendary 💎
Im 17 and this game is my child hood right here
A friend of my brother gave me his ps2 when i was a kid... Thank you Fabio.
Wow, I think of my life in the state of the world and how so many things have changed. Life has been rough for me recently. But seeing this literally just opened whole entire core memories that I didn't even know existed. No other game has the vibe this one does.
Hope things have been getting better dude.
Let me know
Ah, the nostalgia. I used to watch my sister play this, Sly Cooper, and Crash 3 when we were little. Good times.
Damnnn I’m getting old 😢
The graphical jump from ps1 to ps2 was so huge. It was so exciting back then
Yeah, the fact that Jak And Daxter being an open world was able to surprass Crash visuals that were the equivalent of a tech demo for how cramped they are, is unmatched. Nowadays a open world PS5 game is not able to look better than a linear PS4 game.
Those glowing orb things you had to collect were my childhood. Obsessed with this game
Merci.😭❤️.
This game and sly cooper was my childhood. God I miss it.
Everyone was on that ratchet and clank shii. But the real ones played jack and Daxter.
I loved this game it was my very first video game I ever got along with Dragonball Z Kai & The Amazing Speiderman in 2005.
Holy crap, it's "almost" December 3rd... they should do something for Jak and Daxter, please Sony
I love this game so much
Playing jak and daxter and looking a best video game for everybody. Thanks you.😍
I remember playing all three all the time with my brothers and sometimes my cousins on PS3, it pissed us off how we couldn't get passed the first level, but hey, we were 5
It took me like 11+ hours of playthrough as a kid to get to Rock Village.
One of the goats. Currently playing this 1
I love this game! Since I was first introduced to it as a 9 and 1/2 year old almost 10 year old boy! The nostalgia makes me want to play it again but my PlayStation 2 got weaker and weaker until it died in 2019.
I really loved this game but I didn't finished it,I'm glad I can watch it here, thanks
Tbh, I’d pick this game over 2, 3, and X: combat racing.
