    The icing can hold it and if using fondant just apply some water on the back of each dot ;)

    Should the cake be cold or room temperature? I'm concerned about condensation.

    • @afghansongs9189

      Home temperature should be cold not warm or hot but don’t use fondant on a cake that you just took out of the freezer or fridge

      @@AngeloR674 but do you apply fondant when buttercream is set or still wet?

    • @AngeloR674

      Wet buttercream?… do you mean just applied?.. apply a thin layer of buttercream (dirty ice).. then roll fondant on top of cake 1/8 inch.. make sure fondant is not too thick.. use meringue mix to get your cut outs to stick as well…

      @@AngeloR674 How rude. Either just answer or don't if you can't be pained to help others, for crying out loud. That's logical for her to ask since one crusts and the other doesn't. @bibika2844 I find them easier to apply to SMBC exactly for that reason -- it doesn't crust so I don't have to do anything like apply more frosting or edible glue, etc. to get it to stick.

    While covering a cake with fondant can we cover the cake with ganache and then stick the fondant

    • @afghansongs9189
      @afghansongs9189 6 лет назад

      Sumayya Kadge yes you can just make sure you ganache the cake a day before or at least 5 hours earlier and leave it in the chiller to be cooled and then don't use fondant straight away leave the cake for 40 to 50 minutes at home temperature so that it release all the moist and then dry the cake with some paper towel and then cover it with fondant :)
