Hey. Thank you. I have many people around me and especially a very close friend who doesn't believe in the deity of Jesus. I really appreciated this message. I think the verse ws meant to be Revelation 1:11 not Rev 1:10.... Thank you for a great message.

If Jesus was God, did God sacrifice himself to himself? And if God is immortal...could he die on the cross?

The big point for me, along with all that Shawn made, that really made sense in my mind when I was looking into understanding this is this thought.
If Jesus was a created being with no immortality in himself. Then this means that God placed a created being on the cross to be tortured, murdered and to take the sins of the world. All this on a created being. This is a pagan sacrifice that the bible clearly says is an abomination. Some distant scary God created a being and then sacrificed it.
The gospel says that God loved us sooo much and didn't want heaven without us that they worked out a plan where God Himself would become the created and save the lost by His own love and be sacrificed and die the second death for us. That death wouldn't hold Him and He would be raised the third day and have the victory over sin and death forever. And by HIS victory we are forever able to be His children and by repentance and believing in the Jesus we can forever be with Him.
I pray that our hearts and souls can be opened and unveiled to truly know Jesus.

May I add to this great video, that, Jesus is our 'incorruptible' reward (1Cor.9:25, Gen.15:1). We run (Heb.12:1, 1Cor.9:24) to 'receive the Prize' and 'obtain...an incorruptible' 'image of the heavenly' (1Cor.15:49), like 'the second Man, the Lord from heaven' (1Cor.15:47), whose 'glory' is as the sun (1Cor.15:40,41). 'The first man Adam was made a living soul (able to be corrupted); the last Adam (Jesus) was made a quickening spirit (not corruptible)' and 'quickeneth whom He will' (Jn.5:21) 'having life in Himself' (Jn.5:26).
'The Word was made/became flesh' with the glory 'as of the only begotten of the Father' (Jn.1:14). Just as it is impossible for God to lie, so also it was impossible for Christ to sin, Who was 'in the likeness of sinful flesh' (Rom.8:3), but 'without sin' in His human nature, and also having a 'divine nature' (2Pet.1:4).
And 'when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is' (1Jn.3:2), for 'Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for His seed remaineth in Him, because He is born of God' (1Jn.3:9).
'We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not' (1Jn.5:18). It 'was not possible that He should be holden of Death' (Acts 2:24) because He never sinned, for He could not sin, or fail, in that which He was sent to do (Rom.8:3,4). Thus Peter preached 'that His soul was not left in hell, neither did His flesh see corruption' (Acts 2:31), for He became 'incorruptible' flesh, Himself being 'incorruption' (1Cor.15:50).
As Jesus mentioned to Nicodemus, 'If I told you earthy things (#1919), and you believe not, how shall you believe, if I tell you of heavenly things (#2032)?' Paul alludes to this, it seems, writing that 'the glory of the celestial (#2032) is one, and the glory of the terrestrial (#1919) is another' (1Cor.15:40, Jn.3:12). 'And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but He that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven' , being 'the Lord from heaven' (Jn.3:13, 1Cor.15:47)... 'Who shall (soon, I might add) change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto His glorious body (incorruptible), according to the working whereby He is able even to subdue all things unto Himself' (Phil.3:21).
I believe all these verses are evident that Jesus is 'the true Light' and 'Sun of righteousness' having returned to His glory at 'the right hand of the Majesty on high' (Heb.1:3,8,12, 13:8).

I really love you, Sean, but I'm done with the pseudo "commercial breaks." And I realize I'm not your target audience. Best wishes.
