How Thrawn Became Heir to the Empire in Star Wars

The Ahsoka series on Disney Plus will show the first live-action appearance of Grand Admiral Thrawn, a villainous Chiss who many see as the rightful Heir to the Empire. This video explains the lore regarding Thrawn's background and his appearances in various Star Wars novels and series. Thrawn is one of the most well-rounded villains in Star Wars lore and his return was teased in The Mandalorian seasons 2 & 3. Beyond the Ahsoka series, Thrawn may appear in Dave Filoni's upcoming feature film, which is said to wrap up the stories of the Mandalorian, Ahsoka, and Boba Fett series thus far.

Thrawn, you have to admire competency, intellect, and fair play. He is not impulsive like Anakin/Vader nor gloating and overconfident like Palpatine.

Well, Anakin was still competent and intellectual in many instances throughout the Clone Wars.
Even the 501st during the Umbara Arc mentioned how, no matter how reckless some of his plans were, they often worked and he would personally see them through himself

Man, Grand Admiral Thrawn has proven to be such a respected individual in the fanbase, both Canon/Legends wise, that Filoni has a rather large responsibility on his shoulders in regards to this adaptation of such a character.
Thrawn's death will 100% be something that will make or break Ahsoka as a series 😅

All the other big players killed each other or got killed by the Rebels, and the revived Emperor was still hiding out in Byss. So there was nobody left to contest Thrawn's claim to the throne. Even though he stuck to the title of Grand Admiral, he was the new emperor in all but name during the trilogy of novels named after him.

Heir to empire was the first Star Wars book I read and now have almost all of that canon, never liked what Disney did as there was a lot in the original books for many movies and series. Am definitely enjoying gthe Heir series and hope it will finish and may be more of the same for the other books. Thank you, will now start watching Ashoka.
