Lv427 was kind enough to provide the amazing sci-fi ship interior Alien Observation STL Tiles.
In this video, Facility D20 set out on a challenge to 3D Print a some xenomorphs from the movie Aliens along with assembling and painting some Warhammer 40k Terminators from Space Hulk, and place them in an Epic DVD Diorama Display using LV427 Designs Terrain tiles.
This video was inspired from channels like Boylei Hobby Time Nerdforge, Miniac Painting, Black Magic Craft, TheDMsCraft, Real Terrain Hobbies, Geek gaming Scenics, and Eric's Hobby Workshop.

Honestly, I think we can all agree that aliens is the best! I mean come on marines and a power suit!!!

ughh such a bummer when you catch a mistake like the mixed up top and bottom but it was great to see you power through and still come out with an AMAZING end result!

The Aliens game was great. Getting to choose your own team, taking on the queen. Used to love the books too.

@@FacilityD20 honestly you dont, i have 2 mars pros, 2 monos, 2 mini 4k and the photon is still my mist reliable machine. is smaller and just a bit slower but it never fails, and now that no one is using those screens their nice and easy to get. my other machines will spend months down at a time cause screens are like $60 so icant just buy a bunch of backups and they take forever to ship. so id say just clean the shit outta it when it gets grumpy and get back at er

Yes!! That movie gets hate, but I enjoyed it a lot, love the Space Jockey / Engineers, I also enjoyed Alien Covenant as well.

While I think Alien is the better film overall, I agree with you Aliens is likely my favourite of the two. So memorable with all the action scenes and great lines.

I know I'm WAY late, but I don't care. My favourite Alien Movie was Aliens. Not only do we get to see a lot more Xenos, but it's the 1st time we see the Queen.

I use 99% ipa. I tried 91% but I go big on my ipa to get my prints really clean. Sweet alien minis.

I have to go with the first aliens film only because it introduced new and bizzar concepts to horror films, and after watching the making of for this film and the weird problems they overcame in the making of ( explaining the tons of KY jelly to customs, getting Geiger's designs to fit, making the special effects seem real but also getting a real reaction from the cast to them.) Their was just a lot of extra work that went into the making of the first film that makes it stand out more to me.
I seen that documentary as well, the way they made movies back then was special. The first one, will always be the best for most people I think. That or second.

Its a lot like the first aliens film, but if the crew was armed marines, chasing around blips that may or may not be alien creatures that may or may not be able to kill you.

Aliens… very rarely does a sequal compete with the original. This is one of the few times.

@@FacilityD20 I almost mentioned that one sequel as another great one. Great minds think alike. Seriously though, outside of those two… there’s not many others. Maybe LotR the Two Towers? It was pretty fantastic.
@@dr.h6493 Nice! Yeah Two Towers was better than fellowship, but not as big a Improvement as Terminator. Now Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade was amazing, the best one in my opinion.

Oh and two resin printing tips. Be careful when cleaning the vat, sometimes its best to just carefully dab with paper towel or other cleaning products to avoid scratching the FEP. You can sometimes also just let the alcohol evaporate. For getting stuck on prints off the build plate a lot of people use the wham bam flex plates. I've also picked up a small razor blade and holder from homedepot normally used for scrapping off paint and it works well to careful get under the print and pop it off (just be careful it is a razor).
I do need to get a flex plate for sure.

The guy who dose these xenomorphs also has a line of xenomorph Tyranids and a set of colonial marine orks

What is that attachment you have on your build plate? I have Photon 2 and it looks like it would stop you from needing to relevel every time the build plate gets bumped.

Another awesome build! I think 2 was my favorite, but it's close with 3: I really loved the vibe of the 3rd movie. I'm super jealous of your easy leveler for your photon: where did you snag it dude? :) The LEDs were nice, I really love seeing bits of electronics sneaking into dioramas: much fun!

At the beginning showing your design, it's such an auto-cad type process it's fascinating to watch. You use great background music; kudos to that creator! It's such a satisfying thing to watch you time-lapse from beginning to end. Great work dude! When you said "70% IPA" my first thought was "India Pale Ale," and I knew that wasn't right :P The blood spatter application was genius, eh?
I'm curious why you spray-prime black, and why you do both in your (seemingly) indoor space without showing us any ventilation. Isn't that (spray priming indoors) going to screw up your shop? We love your shop, man!
Thanks for taking the time to comment. I was using blender in the beginning of the video. I am getting a little better with it, it take a lot of practice. I like to try to work around my mistakes or incorporate them somehow. The miss-printed Alien with the missing limbs was a mistake and the amount of Alien blood I splatted was a mistake, but it turned into my favorite part of the diorama.
Aliens 2 is also my favorite and I will have to check that game out for sure. Every time I say IPA I also think India Pale Ale haha. I primed in the front part of the facility (the shed) its a wide open garage space that about 28x24, but whenever I have a lot of priming to do I use a respirator and pop the garage door open. I airbrush directly under a exhaust hood however, that works really well.
