thanks for the video. Im a beginner and trying to change my aspect ratio, but when I toggle to the transmission menu Im not able to scroll down to the selections. Any ideas? thanks

How do you record sound?
the first units arrived on day one early march to 2,5 hours to activate and to update firmware cause you have to charge at least 1 battery full first to put it into the drone and be ready for firmware update.
Half charged battery will not allow you to do firmware update.
Hello Andy , you said that you record the goggles view with camera pointed . How exactly you do it ? Do you point the camera only to one eye of the goggles ?
This has to be the best information set video for the DJI fpv Drone I have seen, nice one Andy 👍 Great little flight too, so bloody funny watching your friend waving his arms about to direct you in when you were trying to line up for the landing pad (well done by the way) couldn't you of tilted the cam down so you could see the landing pad better ? or won't the cam tilt in manual mode ?
When the bat is in charge, the most will be first priority to charge first in sequence.
Wait what was the name of the battery for the goggles you mentioned?
I thought he was being a bit reckless with his maneuvers the loops in particular I though for sure he was going to pancake it in upside down luckily he didn't so good job.

Did you adjust your rates ? this thing is all over the place, simple turns and throttle control is so sketchy, why cant it feel like the drones in my sim , I have so much precise control over those drones which feels like my tinyhawk2.
live audio transmission is only with the dji drone?
I wouldn’t use a lipo with the goggles unless it had a built in voltage cutoff. I plugged in a lipo that was discharged below 7v by accident and the goggles freaked out and went back into drone mode. I had to downgrade again to get my fpv air unit mode back again!

I had sent to DJI Care my v1 goggles due to a faulty LCD on one of the sides and DJI engineer evaluation due to the small dent (you explained in the plate) indicated is due to fall damage :) and was very stubborn to admit they are at fault. I had to show them pictures of the iflight plate and custom antennas and escalate twice for them to admit they are at fault! That dent almost costed me 280E repairs! I wish all DJI digital fpv drone owners best of luck and be careful with your gear!

I was annoyed it only came with 1 x USB-C charging cable. So can only do the remote then the goggles battery.
Hey Andy I've just got this drone. I'm having issues with the H.265 format (video playback seems jumpy and lagging) noticed that you said you use H.264. I've tried the H.264 and it seems better but is the H.265 not a better format to use?
Any advice would be helpful cheers.

What size motors does this have? Would these be similar to something like a 2207?

The specs would make me suspect this quad is a bit underpowered for its weight compared to what we are used to, it looks like it in acro footage too is that correct?
Anyway good review of the setup and flight, will be interesting to see what you do with this quad. I’m sure someone is already designing a carbon fibre frame to transplant its electronics and create a killer long range freestyle build 😆
Are you going to do an in-depth video explaining rates? You could actually use your skills to demonstrate them, unlike most DJI reviewers.
A lot of the floaty camera influencers are getting confused, and also calling changing rates tuning.
I am seeing a lot of new users being confused and asking for advice on what to set rates to for beginners

Cool review buddy!! Just one thing. At 0:35 you say: "Don't use this".. When I first had this drone OFCOURSE I didn't use it.. Got me a Good Oll 3000mah 4S lipo and used that. But that stupid little DJI battery might just surprise you. It surprised me A LOT. It's really not thàt bad.

Image looks good just don't think the stabilization is great. It's not going to replace a GoPro yet I think.
Within twenty minutes of owning this drone I figured out what it's for. Slowmo action shots.

Of course not. DJI makes you buy everything all over again. Goggles, controller, batteries, chargers, cables... in with the new and out with the old into the garbage bin.

Flight footage looks like it's hauling a lot of mass around with not much power and quite a loose tune. If it brings people into the hobby then great.

Also be careful not to expose goggle lenses to the sun. The sun can burn into the lenses.
The price of a spare battery is horrific...lol.
I also think no gimbal on the roll axis is a mistake DJI...An option to lock the roll axis for doing aerobatics and unlock for Cinematic.....🤔😳😳😳🇬🇧
It's not that dji doesn't want you to fly in manual mode they just want you to be damn sure you want manual mode it's so you can't accidentally enter manual mode by mistake because if you havnt trained on a flight sim then putting it in manual mode will most likely destroy your fpv drone.

Great review! But please please, in your flying review, please show footage of the unstabilized video in the goggles. To me, the wiggling/jiggling in the goggles is show-stopper bad (looks to be because of the sloppy tune). I've crashed mine already and haven't put the footage of mine up on my youtube channel yet, but it's frustrating that no reviewers are showing this really awful problem. It takes all the fun out of flying it for me and causes pilot fatigue very quickly, especially in wind or flying at high speeds. I've gone back to my iflights and Diatone Roma F5 and won't be replacing my dead FPV drone. Unless/until DJI tunes the thing or gives us a way to adjust the PIDs....
I didn't think their tune was any near as bad as people have been saying. Not sure why u would want to turn eis off just to show the wobbles. That would be like showing a vista footage instead of gopro and I could pick that apart all day too. Can't say at any point it's tune would have caused me to crash
@@AndyRCchannel No, my crash was all my fault, I can assure you :). As for the in-goggle video, it might just be that I'm so accustomed to my Betaflight quads (2 iflights and a Diatone Roma F5) which are just absolutely rock-steady in flight. Even in winds over 20mph, the image is steadier than I saw in the FPV drone at moderate speeds in calm conditions. It was bad enough that I didn't really even think about replacing mine after the crash, the corpse is still on my shelf (the electronics all still work perfectly!). But that may just be me being picky - it may not bother others.
The wobbly-ness is because the camera is soft-mounted to the drone not because of the tune. They over did it though so in-camera it can appear that you are not tracking straight when you are perfectly locked.
I'm not sure it's the gimbal, actually. In the footage I have, the props are in the view and they're locked tight against the sides of the image. The wiggling of the world seems to be going on behind them. And many of the bobbles are too slow to be the gimbal anyway. I think it just needs some adjustment of the PIDs. It's not like the drone is built bad either - it's actually a good quality build IMO. It's got a nice stiff airframe and nice lightweight good quality props. I think it just needs a good PID tune, to be honest....

Once you adjust what little rate controls they gave us (as I know you will) and tilt that camera up she'll fly and fly fast. It won't replace none of my 5"s or any of my real FPV drones. But this is different as a mix between FPV & GPS. It's made for smooth video recordings with some lite acro fun mixed in. The hand control is nice too as it's new way to fly, I own many FPV drones and most of DJI's stuff so this fits nicely in my barn. Great review Andy

Hard to know who DJI are aiming this Drone at...?....It seems a bit scary for an absolute noob, and for a real skilled quad pilot, dissapointing in terms of performance...I predict slack sales on this product IMO...🤔😳😳😯🇬🇧
Just like FPV, only worse. As a rule of thumb products that you need to activate are not really yours, you can only fly on DJI's discretion.

The fact that you need to activate (which is really just registering) the GOGGLES.... is just depressing.
You need to activate all DJI gear including Vistas & Goggles. Nothing new.
watching recordings from this drone is very boring. It is slow-maneuverable. In flight, it behaves like a brick. It was only because of your skill that I watched the movies to the end. This drone is for rich kids and maybe for expensive smashing.
