Looks like some sort of old jam jar or something. Probably has a note or list in it for others who have also climbed into the cave to sign their name and the date. People do this in deep caves, as well. There will be some sort of jar or container (typically watertight) in the weirdest and most unlikely spot. In deep caves after they have repelled down using 3-4 different ropes in various areas and covered like half of a mile into a cave and then climbed back up into the back of the cave to find that they would need more rope for even more extensions of the cave - and a jar where someone was there previously with papers that others have signed to say that they have been there.

Just a thought but, the easy way into that cave was the one you found, with a drone that could drop off that big, plastic jug. There is also a nice crack going all the way up, through the cave entrance , that an excellent climber might use and, lastly, there is a nice ledge above the cave entrance so somebody, with nerves of steel and a good rope, might climb down into the cave.
