You know, he said it himself, a lot of movies have these diaper changing scenes but......these are usually with actual babies. Having this kind of scene with an around 4 year old.....is just plain CREEPY.

I see these comments all the time. Newsflash: Sandler's comedy hasn't changed since he began, it's literally the same type of stuff he's always done, you just grew out of it. Personally, I've enjoyed every new movie he's made (that I've watched) just as much as Happy Gilmore or Billy Madison, wich is to say they're good for 1 or 2 viewings, but after that it gets old kinda fast. Only 50 first fates and Waterboy have skirted that trend for me.

Just like so many people say how Kevin James was only funny in king of queens it’s like 🤨 well, he’s the exact same guy as he was in that, he just hasn’t been in anything that had WRITERS as good as those in KoQ 🤷🏻♀️ the writers r pretty damn important when it comes to a comedic movie being funny, once u know the actors have already proven they r capable of comedic timing _with the right material_
When he starts singing the Pony theme song - he sings the extended version. That is not used any time in the show. So if he only just watched the show, there’s no way he would know those lyrics.
So that means a(he did way more reserch than he needed to. B(he knows that information. C(someone on set knew the info. Either way if it was anyone other than that little girl that gave him the lyrics someone is a secret my little pony fan.
Shadow Tech My guess is the writers just did a search for the theme song lyrics and the extended version was the first one that popped up and they didn’t do anymore research beyond that, just going with it
I thought that was the 80s version of the opening. It kind of reminded me of it t least.
It was the original 80’s version of the theme song, I believe. Each gen had its own version

I'm just surprised as hell he was describing the plot of an actual episode instead of making something up. Also, was that the theme from the original series? Because I'm pretty sure it wasn't from FiM.

I also believe there's a scene where they have the theme song playing over random clips of the show. I'll be honest, I did like the pony art during the credits.
This movie feels like it was written in 2016, back when My Little Pony and John Cena memes were at their prime.
That's hardly a reach. It's common for it to take years for scripts to get greenlit, movies to be shot, edited, released.
It would seem thirty years older, 1986, had this been the "Megan, Molly, and Danny" version ("Marvel/Sunbow/Claster/Hasbro" version)(I saw it,too. actually, I enjoy this/..)
Not gonna lie. I was honestly shocked to find this came out in 2019. It's shot like it's from 1995 with the abysmal colour palate and bland camera work. Actually, fuck no. The fucking Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Movie is shot better than this. Batman 66 was shot better than this.
It probably was, then got sent into development purgatory (a subsidiary of development hell) before finally getting off the ground.
I'd say this was shot in 2016 and sat on the shelf for three years until they ultimately said "Eh, whatever, let's hope this makes a quick buck whilst we still have it."
I want to see a dark parody of this trope where the musclebound guy tries to take care of the kids, but because of the dangerous situation they still die.
Plot twist: The youngest of the siblings uses her mind power to make everyone in the house believe they're living in a family comedy setting.
Although Twilight Zone already did that, twice.
What if the children plot to kill him and slowly psychologically torture the poor guy.

That's been Keegan Michael-Key's whole career post- Key and Peele. Dude is legitimately, phenomenally hilarious and he has coasted on that... by doing shit like this. I'm not asking him to do what Jordan Peele did or more serious work overall, I'm just saying... be more choosy with your scripts man lol
He was alright on Whose Line, but even then it felt like he was trying too hard, which is understandable.

Also we even managed to get some ponies (Celestia and Luna, praise the goddesses) etched onto electronic hardwarw that was sent to the ISS. Neat huh?

We should assume that in the time between the 3rd act resolving and the epilogue stuff with the wedding (I'm giving this movie the benefit of the doubt and assuming it's been weeks if not months since then) he went to therapy. I think it's safe to assume he broke and became a potential danger to himself and those around him.

Yeah, early in the review I was thinking "hey, this movie actually seems to have a interesting sense of humor." Then the main kids showed up and everything went downhill.

This movie doesn’t have a review on Rotten Tomatoes (It’s At 22%!), so I’ll make it myself: “Playing With Fire extinguishes it’s talented cast’s comedic fire and add up to a smoldering disaster of a kids movie.”
Between Sabertooth singing and Wolverine doing musical movies; we need a broadway musical play just between both of them.
Tyler Mane singing the My Little Pony theme is probably the scariest thing he's done, which is saying something since he's played characters like Sabretooth and Michael Myers.
I recommend How to Make a Monster (2000)
You know what’s ironic, Liev Schreiber, who also played as Sabretooth, did the voice for the Storm King from My Little Pony the movie.

*RIGHT?!* Someone else finally said it! If John Cena had more of Jim Varney's talent... and charisma... and range- OK, a *LOT* more, someone could theoretically market John Cena as the next Jim Varney. They would just need a fucking miracle to make it work, but there is always hope.
I honestly want him to do a straight up Jim Varney biopic, or a “the disaster artist” type behind the scenes making of an Ernest movie.
That might be the way to rehab Cena into a credible actor.

Cena definitely has plenty of charisma, talent, and range. Comparing him to Jim Varney (a legitimately gifted Shakespeare-trained actor) is apples and oranges though, cause Jim Varney was straight-up gifted.
This feels a little like the Bernie Mac show but the actors aren’t even trying.
It looks like nobody wanted to make this movie.

Zach Sutton Yeah. This review is he’s own Hilariocity. After watching Stuckmann’s I declared it a so bad it’s hilarious. Mainly because the title has nothing to do with the story and that to me weirdly makes it hilarious. I’ll just put it one and laugh at all the failures it accomplished.

Shwah Gamers Gru wasn’t planning to kill the gorls, he didn’t have a plan of what to do with them once his plan was done because it wasn’t fully thought out. He was indifferent to the idea if they died but he wasn’t planning to murder them the most we saw of how he was gonna get rid of them was abandoning them at Super Silly Fun Land but that’s it

Staying true to referenced source material i guess.
Mlp:fim is tv-y (7+) yet the show has shown cults/brainwashing (jim jones was mentioned in script even), suicide attempt, parasitic tree that kills on contact by sprouting out of body, accepted slavery, bomb attempt of school, painful-looking soul/body absorbtion until death, end of world timeline (thanks timetravel), Zalgo knockoff, xenophobia (basicly dont help other species so they cant take over pony kind), and finally the fact "friendship" doesnt work on everyone and they turn a child into stone. There that should make those pesky children more prone to following commands.
@crazy silly not to over sell the series, but it is extremely broad in its content and genres. It totally tries to focus on "feel good and friendship" most of the time. But it also tries to tell the viewer of the human condition in subtler ways over time. Want to see a feel good (faith in humanity restored) type of show? Mlp. Want to see something contrastingly dark at some point in a feel good show? Mlp.
Meme-able faces? Mlp.
Pop culture refrences up the wazhoo, inlcuding but not limited to Big Lebowski bowling scene? Mlp.
Again im sure any one show does something specifcly way better. But no show short of Undergrads does everything mlp:fim has done on average. And yeah there is high and low seasons too.
Mlp even has a manga now along with the comics and novels.
Heck the novels and comics were usually darker then the show at one point.
Legit the most kindergardener novel (like reading level 1 looking) set by g.m. berrow, has Rainbow Dash as part of a "minor" side plot attempt to be captured and sacrificied as some mythical chosen one to unleash a undead ghost army onto the land.
There is also a Daring Do set of novels, and its straight up just Indiana Jones. Of course something tries to kill everything.
I mean the second book starts out describing Do starving as a stow away on a ship, with her ribs showing through her skin.
Fun fact, mentioned early on in the shows cycle, in a book at first but finally mentioned in the show in the final seasons. Originally the day/night cycles where done by 6 random Unicorns permanatly expending their magic to move the sun/moon, one a day. That actual staggering numbers of disabled magic user every day.

Funny thing. Lauren Faust loved the toys as a kid but was unimpressed with the lack of story and character in the cartoons made at the time to promote them. She always came with unique personalities for the ponies she collected and imagined them in epic scenarios. That’s pretty much where her inspiration for MLP: FIM came from!
