Nice I'm getting my door put on right now and wanted to get a better picture of what they would look like. Nice Vid. Im also getting the can am roof rack placed on but trying to ask them to make it posable to remove the thing so i can place the X MR in the garage
The doors definitely change the look for the better. I think they're a good addition. A removable roof rack would be sweet. Hopefully they can get that done for you. Thanks for subbing.
Good video I just have a quick question. I have the defender HD 10 also. When yours was new did your header pipe glow red right where your O2 sensor is. I asked two different CamAM shops and they both said it was normal.
did your ratchet strap trick work on tightening up the bottoms of the doors to seal better? and that's unfortunate about the dealer charging that much for install. Our local dealer installs aftermarket products for free with purchase. Basic stuff like the doors, snorkel kit ect. I did mine myself too as i like to know how to repair later if needed. im also searching for drop pins for the door hinges for easy removal on those hot summer days.
Did you have any problems with your defender while you owned it? How many miles did you put on it? Would you buy another one? Just wondering because I have one on order. Thanks.
I am in the process of putting my doors on my 2019 Can am Defender Max Lone Star just like yours. I am having a problem getting the rear door strikers to fit with the side panel. I notched out the inner piece like you did in the video and i notched the outer side panel but when i try to put the side panel on it binds on the nut on the striker. Any suggestions? Thanks
I can't remember having an issue like you're describing, but it's been a long time ago since I did the install. Hopefully you've got it worked out by now. I just sold the machine so I can't go take a look either.
I am installing my doors now.. the instructions call for a total of 10 fender washers per kit ( 10-left side 10-right side) but there are only 6 in each kit.. in particular I’m referring to the instructions calling for fender washers for the hinges that install on the body on the B pillar. Any help??
Your Defender appears to be a 2018 as I have the same color interior on the Lonestar I think they went Gray in 2019. If I am correct, are you putting the 2020 doors on your 2018? Part# for 2018 is 715003031 (BRP website says these are for 2019 and earlier. Part #715006316 is for 2020. Are you aware of any changes? I want to order a set from Amazon and wanted to confirm. It may be a superseded part. Thanks for the help.
It's been a couple years ago since I installed them. Yes my Defender was a 2018. The part number I bought was 715003031. I'm pretty sure there were some design changes for 2020 and newer. I'm not sure what they are though. When I bought mine they were the only does Can Am had at the time
@@DerangedOffRoad Thank you very much for the quick response. I must have missed the reference to Partzilla in the video the first time and after watching it again last night I caught it. I went there and got their last set of 2018's. They weren't as cheap as you paid lol but very competitive to all others and free shipping. Thanks again.
@@DerangedOffRoad So after calling a number of vendors here is the answer for others that may have the same question. The older part number is superseded to the newer 6316. The older one (3031) will not fit the new models so BRP changed the mounting hardware in the 6316 so it will fit all models 2017-2020.
I had the dealer install the same doors a month ago and I’m not very happy with mine. I think BRP dropped the ball on these doors. Mine have big gaps on the bottom of the doors and they rattle bad on the latch. 3 out of 4 of the doors don’t really close or are really hard to close. The dealer had them closing as long as no one was in the machine. Once I fill the machine with people the doors won’t close. I find they need maybe another latch at the bottom of the door or something. Definitely disappointed in these. Did you have any of those issues and how did you fix them or are yours not like that? Ryan
I’ve got some gaps on the bottom but that can be fixed by tweaking the frames a little bit. Mike al close perfectly fine but I’ve never had my machine loaded up with more than two adults and a couple kids. If you’re loading 600-800lbs of people plus gear your frame will be flex I would bet. These only have a 1200lb payload capacity. I’ve shimmed the strikers back on the front doors so they close tight and don’t rattle. Overall I’m satisfied with my purchases and would but again.
Thank you. I’ll check out the video and I might suggest that to the dealer. They have my machine right now and are trying to fix them a bit better. I’ll keep you posted
If you're going to make a helpful video you probably ought to slow it down on some parts. Good attempt as some parts were useful. And I don't need head banger music🤣
Great video. Thanks for posting. My HD-10 2 place was very hard to get the doors adjusted!
Yeah they're not easy. I'm still not exactly satisfied with my adjustments. Going to have to try again soon.

thanks for the video it helped with my installation of the doors a lot smoother!!!!

Do you leave the plastic piece off on top in the back? Looks like it will leave some holes if you leave it off.
Tobad couldn’t see it better

What windshield do you have? And do you like it or recommend something else?
That windshield was a Superatv vented windshield. It's a hard coated polycarbonate. I liked. Never had any issues and it seemed durable enough

I can't recall at the moment running into any issues with that. If I was short I probably just used some off of the bolts on the window need
Did you leave the cap on the rear top behind hinge for door?
Much appreciated
Thanks Man
Hello,
I seen you had a windshield and side view mirrors, can you tell me what mirrors fit with a windshield on the defender?
They were Seizmik mirrors. Make sure whatever you buy fits a pro-fit cage. Anything that fits a Polaris Ranger cage will fit the Defender
@@DerangedOffRoad thank you! Did you do anything special to do make it fit under the windshield?
@@jv00rhees no. Nothing special. They really just clamp on the side. They don't go under the windshield

How do you like the 4 dr model? Is it too long?
It's not too long for where I ride. It's a great machine
Do you have the instructions by chance?

I have a 2021 Can-Am defender 6 seater

Anyway to slow this video down lol
You can actually show the video down right on the youtube video player.

It's definitely not a step by step tutorial.
