Nice job pulling off what I call a "Markiplier Clutch"!
This is what I call it when one achieves a goal, particularly in a video game, on what they said would be their last attempt. Taken from Mark's completion of 20/20/20/20/ (4/20) mode in the first _Five Night's At Freddy's,_ which took him 7 hours of fails and he was ready to throw in the towel...but he gave it another shot and that was his epic win!

i feel like you don't have to beat so much in that last part. since it's apopalypse, i believe zomgs are part of round 91 already, meaning only beat the fortified moabs and then the stalled round 89 moab to win the challenge.
i could be completely wrong though.

I'VE JUST COMPLETED IT WITHOUT WATCHING THE GUIDE YAAAAAAAY (first challenge)
Now I'm gonna check out how you have solved it
(For those who want to beat this challenge by themselves, SPOILERS AHEAD)
4:03 oh, on my version, cooldown of the T-Rex's ability was already over by that moment when blimps form this "infinity" figure. Then I activated it, sold the tamer and placed Ezili at the end of the track. Damage done by the stomp was just enough for Moab Hex + one Ezili's main attack hit to leave only one MOAB unpopped, aaand win.
But seeing my stadegy not working in your case makes me feel like a cheater now...
P.S ok I've watched the firts challenge part aaand yeah I guess some of the updates made firts challenge easier. It was much harder 5 months ago!

I'm probably stupid, but why does unstable concoction help? Doesn't the explosion just make it more likely for the moabs to pop too early?

i think hex alone wouldnt do enpugh damage to pop each moab before expiring

It makes it so that when the first one pops, it deals damage to make the next one pop, and so on and so forth. Ezeli Hex instantly moves between MOABs and is able to keep up with the chain reaction and is able to prevent Cerams from spawning, unless two MOABs are popped at the same time (because Hex can only be on one MOAB at a time) which could be caused by them being bunched up at a turn. Without it, hex doesn’t deal enough damage to take out all ~10 MOABs.

It doesn't deal damage to moabs untill one of them dies, so it's there to cause a chain reaction and kill all of the moabs within the timeframe of hex.

Ezili's hex moves to the next target before the damage calculation so what really happens is:
1) MOAB is hexed and can't spawn children, next game tick it's health is reduced to 0 by hex
2) Hex moves to the next closest MOAB
3) First MOAB explodes and damages the second one
4) Second MOAB's health is reduced to 0 by concoction at the same time first MOAB was popped.
goto -> 2)
TL;DR: it is required so hex had enough time to prevent spawning children in all 10 (9/10 due to bends) MOABs
