    OMG!!! Finally someone who made since of it all... Thank you my beautiful Sister ❤️❤️❤️❤️
    lol...I did have a problem when you said to take the sleeve measurement and minus 28".... I'm like .."WHAT? My measurement is 30...that leaves 2"...how do I subtract half my back panel from that????" So...I asked my husband...who wears hearing aids...to listen to see if I missed something...So he listened and asked what the problem was...ME: How do you subtract 12" from 2"? What am I missing...?" He listened again and says..."she says.." Mine is 28"
    😂😂😂😂😂Mine is...minus...
    Any just a little something to laugh about...❤❤❤❤

    This was an excellent tutorial I enjoyed it completely. I do have one question. How do you decrease the stitches so that the 2 arm pieces fit nicely from the top of the sleeve to the wrist? Is there a rule of thumb? Thank you so much.

    • @toyainstitches
      @toyainstitches  Месяц назад

      Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
      To make the sleeve fit your arm closely you need to know your armhole depth and your upper arm circumference. For example, my arm hole depth is 6.5 inches and my upper arm circumference is 12 inches so if I'm working the sleeve flat the initial width of the sleeve would be 13 inches, then I would work a few rows (about 2 inches) before starting to decrease until I get to 12 inches in width. Then I would work until the sleeve length is below my elbow and once it's below my elbow I would start decreasing again to make it fit my lower arm and wrist.
      I hope this makes sense.❤

    Thank you so much for this, very educational! Im looking into measurements because i just made a spencer kind of top that doesnt fit at all in the front. 😅
    Do you have any tips on how to use these measurements to create more fitting (a little ease) bottom-up style crochet top with declines at the armholes as well as a vneck style?

    • @toyainstitches
      @toyainstitches  4 месяца назад +1

      Oh no 😅 we've all been there!
      I have video for a top that will show you how to work out the v-neck (I'll link it below). For armhole shaping you would work decreases (decreasing by 1- 2 inches) once you get to the base of the armhole. To figure out when to start the decreases subtract your armhole depth from the total length of the top.
      For example: a top that is 15 inches long with an armhole depth of 6 inches, 15 - 6 = 9, so you would work from the bottom up until the top was 9 inches long and then work decrease along the edges over 2 or more rows depending on how many inches you want to decrease by. (I hope this makes sense) ❤

    For the first sweater's measurements, please why do we divide the bust measurement by 4?

    • @toyainstitches
      @toyainstitches  2 месяца назад

      @@gracehusaini901 the bust measurement is divided in 4 because the width of the panel is only a 1/4 of your bust measurement and the panel is made long then folded in half and draped over one side of the body. Check out my Breezy Tee tutorial where I use this same method of garment construction.

    If you’re doing a business base on bikini, what are the measurements to take from customers and how would you know how many rows and chains?

    • @toyainstitches
      @toyainstitches  4 месяца назад +1

      I've never made a bikini bottom but if you type "crochet bikini bottom measurement" into google search then click images it will bring up some detailed diagrams of what measurements to take. This is one project that I would highly reccomend making a gauge swatch In order to figure out rows and chains because the sizing has to be precise. I hope this helps a little❤

  • @holliberry

    Why are we folding the front panels in half?

    • @toyainstitches
      @toyainstitches  6 месяцев назад +1

      When working with two long panels where each panel covers one side of the body (left side and right rather than front and back)from the hemline in the front to the hemline at the back and is seamed in the center (down the back and/or front).
      Each panel must be folded in half at the shoulder.
      Does this answer your question? I hope I didn’t confuse you further.
      If I didn’t answer or misunderstood the question please give me a rough time stamp of the section of the video you need me to clarify.
