The Yamaha PSR-i500 is made in Chennai, India. With the highest diaspora of Indians in many parts of the world, do you think Yamaha should make this keyboard available in international markets?
I live in Germany unfortunately I couldn’t find the ctx9000in here and to import it was a bit to much. Lucky I found a new Yamaha i500 and I just can say I’m more that happy with this beauty. What a sweet tones and the Keybed is in my eyes builded with better quality than the ctx (I’m still in love with the ctx because all the specs) but the i500 has a top quality sound and for those who wants the Indian sounds will be a great piece. I have actually shortlisted Casio 9000IN and PSR-I500 (PA600 sounds great but out of my budget). Thanks for this video Jeremy. I will definitely buy PSR now. By the way, somehow, I feel that the sound quality is the best with the order below. KORG -> Roland -> Yamaha -> Casio.
No one is ready to say which one is good..... Ctx 9000 vs psr i500 Some one who is master in this sector please come up with your conclusion .... Every one is confused.....
Hey Jeremy IN Yamaha E363 their is a portable grand button in it which I can press it and make the key in Grand Piano voice well as the yamaha psr i500 their is a button called HARMONIUM/PIANO you can press the button for making the keyboard in Grand Piano voice and harmonium voice at same time with one button I like the This feature of yamaha psr i500.Thats all for now. Regards Arjun
Hey Jeremy ! Yamaha introduced the i425 , then i455 and now the i500. Roland introduced the Roland E09IN , Indian edition and that's what I purchased 4 years ago. That sounds great , with 26 tabla beats including classical with tanpura , Bollywood , Desi , Goa beats and many more. It has dedicated tabla and India buttons to access Indian ragas and Indian style beats. The most amazing thing is the bass and tabla changes whilst playing progression on the left with single or three fingered chords . It sounds far better than Yamaha , Korg or the Casio. But it has only 2 variations , a fill in , intro and ending. The Korg pa60 up to the pa1000 can be loaded with Indian packs via USB and has 4 variation buttons , fill in and a ' break ' button. Even then the Roland e09IN beats the rest in sound quality , it is exquisite Indian sound. Sadly there's no usb inputs , but you can access computers with a midi to USB converter. I haven't tried that and I don't think any other world packs can be downloaded although I've read somewhere that it does have a large data storage space. Overall , it's a heavy and strong keyboard , much more than Yamaha , Korg or Casio. Please research the Roland E09IN. Thanks and take care.
Hello Sir... I'm under a deep confusion whether to buy Yamaha psr e463 or Yamaha psr i455 or Yamaha psr i500 or Casio ctx 9000 In... What is your opinion and give me a suggestion on what to buy and which is better to go with.
very nice presentation and you have great knowledge about the concern topic ... thanks very much. ( youv told all ) nothing great yet for the indian market ( with casio around ) ... yes too little ...
Hey, Can you suggest the best among these two plzzz.... Psr i500 vs ctx 9000in. Since I'm gonna purchase a keyboard for the first time in my lifetime. I don't wanna regret for choosing over a trash. Please help me Jeremy.....
Hey Jeremy I just love your channel your reviews really feel reliable compared to others. I am a beginner and want to have a keyboard for multiple uses majorly learning to play and practice vocals-both Indian and western, use it as a midi keyboard in Daw to produce music and also a keyboard which sounds great in live performance as well not on a big scale though... Which one will be better for me I am really concerned about key quality, tonal quality whether its Indian or piano/guitar/violin tones to make my own tracks and versatility with daw. So which one will be better casio ctx 9000in or yamaha psr-i500? Please revert soon.
Hi Jeremy see, i like your channel very much... Really you are doing a good service to the music world.. I am new to keyboard learning (beginner) Now i am having a confusion on CTX-9000IN or PSR-I500 which one to buy?
Mr. Jeremy, your video s great. I would be grateful to you if you could clearfy me the following. A. I like and need to play Indian voices and styles. However, I do not need Indian classical music. B. As many musicians have been saying Casio keyboard's sounds are like toy's. Casio keyboards hold many features, however they don't work. In this situation I am confused to select Yamaha Psr-i500 or Casio ct-x9000IN. Please suggest in clear words.
Great channel, very informative videos. Where can one buy keyboards with Indian sounds in USA? Roland, Casio, Yamaha or any other brand. I am also interested in the Yamaha Middle Eastern that was mentioned in this video. Thanks.
Hi Jeremy perspective on the psr I-500 yes I do agree with your thoughts of i500 I tried to find the Casio Ctx9000 here in the U.S i also tried to purchase the Roland XP’s-30 or xps 10 which is by far has the most beautiful India sounds I tried doin special orders and no the Indian keyboards are not shipped here I managed to get the I-500 in special bundle with the Korg wavestate on a good deal... I have a Yamaha E-433 if I did a sys ex dump of the I-500 will. The E-433 accept the transfer minus ryzie function?
Jeremy , Forgot to mention , I'm a South African born Indian and keyboards are very expensive here , even if you convert the currency vice versa example in my Rand currency converted to Indian Rupees , I'll be able to buy 2 of those keyboards if I'm in India. I suspect price fixing of imported music instruments here in South Africa . Most or all the time, shipping is free to wholesalers from here.
Hi Jeremy, I love your videos. I started to watch recently when I was searching for psr e 463 reviews on net. ( One of my prof friends advised that ) I m still confused. PSRE263,363,463,I455,I500. If you can suggest a good model 15000 to 20000, or may be little plus minus
Main drawback is that the i500 allows only 2 variations on style. Casio allows 4 variations. I really wish Casio or Krog has a Yamaha-compatibility mode so that you can play Yamaha style files. The Yamaha style database available from Yamaha or from other musicians is the main advantage of Yamaha. Other wise you can get a much much better keyboard from Casio or Kordg for 30%-50%. Jeremy See can you ask Casio or Korg to add a compatibility mode to ply Yamaha style files - it is just a matter of some simple software. Also I wish there was software to do the conversion from Yama to Korg ... unfortunately not. Jeremy given that you are such a fan of Korg (and I agree with all you comments on your videos) -- please please influence Korg to add this feature. Thanks for all you great videos.
@@JeremySee Unless Yamaha can claim that their formats are their proprietary intellectual property and can sue Korg, I believe it is in Korg's interest to provide the compatibility mode -- Korg will get a lot more sales as many folks buy Yahama for widespread use of their style files. Hi Jeremy, Thanks for your review on Yamaha PSR-i500. I would like to upgrade my son's Yamaha PSR e363 keyboard. vbdx66 , Best brand keyboards, top of the range are Roland , Korg and Kurzweil .High sound quality , easy to access preset instruments and strong solid keys, even the entry level keyboards have semi weighted keys , especially the Roland. Easy to download world packs via usb. Kurzweil used to manufacture electronic pianos only but now they manufacture full keyboards example the Kurzweil 300x 76-note, full-size, velocity-sensitive, synth-action keyboard with pitch bend and modulation controllers. 700 instruments including world. This one costs half the price of the Korg pa 1000 and has usb storage and connectivity. Casio is built weak and although sound quality has improved but still no match for other keyboards. Besides my Roland e09in , I have a 76 key Yamaha dgx230 which is built really tough. Take care. 💖
Can this keyboard do Scale tuning and save the presets? So if I want to play in something other than 12 Tone Equal Temperament, can I tune each note in the octave individually and save my tuning?
Yes, the Yamaha PSR-i500 has scale tuning -- one cent resolution, octave repeating. There are 32 Registrations and you can save a scale tuning with each one.

Get a Nord piano 4.
100% agree, they just add 40 style and 40/50 indian voices, they just sell a psr E463
Plz sir can you name the cables or wires which I need to connect yahama e363 to Android as midi?
Brother, please compare ctx9000in vs i500.. which should I buy
I am also in this confusion, what you purchased ?
Can this keyboard do Scale tuning and save the presets? So if I want to play in something other than 12 Tone Equal Temperament, can I tune each note in the octave individually and save my tuning?
Yes, the Yamaha PSR-i500 has scale tuning -- one cent resolution, octave repeating. There are 32 Registrations and you can save a scale tuning with each one.
