Retired GSD - her last trials WSD Trials 2017
About 7 years ago I entered a competition with my old retired German shepherd bitch, she was about 8 years old at the time and hadn't been worked for a while.
Someone said I was a "has been" and couldn't train dogs anymore", this riled me far more than it should have done, so with couple of weeks to prepare I entered the competition. We did quite well.
The point I'm trying to make here is if you train it right, you only need to train it once.
In this series on Training My Sheepdog, I show how I train my own Border Collie Menna from start to finish with my own rare breed sheep.
It will involve mistakes and how to solve them as we take this journey together.

and 'How To' Explanation Training Videos which will expand from 'Beginners' to 'Expert' in knowledge and skills set.
As a Dog Trainer of many years standing, mainly in the world of Protection and Security Dogs and their handlers, I have always wanted to train my own sheepdog for the purpose they were bred for, I have owned and trained many but for pets and search/ detection work.
