In case people aren't aware, this was the early version of Sandy's Treedome that was cut from the final game. This version of the level lacked the flamethrower (an important plot element) no indoor section and had torches scattered about which were used to melt the ice from the door instead.
I’m actually glad we got the new version since the mode is longer, we got to see Sandy a lot more, and what was the point of even going into Sandy’s tree dome the first time ?

Aaah I remember this! This was what the Sandy’s Treedom was originally gonna be like. Straight forward getting stuff and being stalked by a robot. Instead of being inside the house most of the time.
This is quite memorable as a patron back then.
5:33 Oh yeah. They made her run normally in the original version, while in the full game, they made her run like Donkey Kong.

I like how you planned on adding the butterfly as a jumpscare/visual distraction type of enemy. Shame it was seemingly scrapped, probably because it would of made the Treedome harder in the final game.
would have been perfect. Especially if there was a way to outrun sandy and still be safe in someway, though extremely unlikely. This would definitely bait a few unforunate souls into getting themselves killed.
I like both versions, but I imagine this version would be a nightmare of a speed run level.

That episode still gives me PTSD...
List of noticeable differences from the final game(NOTE: i may either miss some things or i might get things wrong. If i do, don't be afraid to notify me in the comments!):
-The loading screen is completely different from the final version of sandys treedome.
In the prototype, Spongebob and patrick are traversing sandys frozen yard with spongebob carrying a torch while patrick comically shushes the nutalarm behind them. In the final version, SpongeBob and Patrick are simply standing there shivering as a nod to the episode the levels based on.
-A completely scrapped enemy from the final: What appear to be mini-bots appear in the prototype. They basically behave as a reskin of the pinkies: chasing down and shocking the player but not killing them. Its possible they was to serve a similar role to the pinkies from anchor way where getting stung causes pearl to wake and instantly kill you. In this case based on how sandy didn't wake: shocking spongebob would have a chance of waking her up, but not always guranteed too...or that functionality was not yet programmed in.
Based on how they not only are far more easier to encounter than the nutalarm and how extremely fast they are, i think they was scrapped because they would have made the level too difficult.
-the inside of sandys tree is never seen in this video. Its possible that the player just never went in there or that the ability to wasn't added yet...it would be odd if you could in this built though because there is no point in doing so.
-The objectives to clear the level was VERY different from the final. Instead of getting the blueprints for a flamethrower and constructing it in sandys tree to use on the door, you instead had to collect torches and use them all to melt the lock on the door. This was likely changed so that way there would be a reason to enter sandys tree while she is sleeping which raises the tension of the level while also having her be on screen more.
-Sandys run animation was very different in this build. Instead of charging right at you on all fours like in the episode, she simply reuses barry the bears run animation which looks kinda goofy...
I think it would have been neat if you had this section to complete, but you used the torches to melt Sandy's Door because the main door was "Too frozen", and the torches were "Not bright enough", and once you got in the house, checkpoint, and then you needed 4 flamethrower pieces, instead of 8, or maybe 5 pieces instead, then you have the flamethrower which lets you escape.
Dude this looks so cool!
This original concept is kind of weird because how are the torches still ignited when the artificial snow is covering everything also Sandy is noticeably slower in this version of the level and I'm sad that those little acorn taser robots were scrapped
I remember not too long ago I was digging into one of the files of the public version of the game and seeing an mp4 file of just a close up view of an irl insect, this explains it 5:25
So this level went from being the easiest one, to the hardest one... gotcha

Hello Dave, so I’ve been wondering about this, because it happened but then never had it’s level, but why wasn’t their a level for the Chum bucket? Squidward and Mr, Krabs went there, but it never got showned. Was it maybe because I was like 4am at the Chum Bucket? Was that probably going to be 4am if they weren’t going to rest at that time?
The level we got now is so hard it almost made me give up on the game. I like you're able to see the robot not until he's right of you. I don't think it's even possible to get all collectables. How the hell are you supposed to do this without dying?! It's IMPOSSIBLE

Hey dave i know its been a month since you made this video but i like to ask why wasn't the doodle jelling ( sorry if i miss type the word) in around the clock i mean the doodles were not the main enemy of around the clock but it would have been cool if they showed up around. Town. You know just to show if the doodles aren't messing around and to finish it off were they scraped or the team forget about them. ( sry if this was long)
We simply felt they weren't necessary to the plot we wrote.

just occurred to me, but how are spongebob and patrick surviving without their helmets?
edit: wait they probably didnt wear the helmets they needed in the episode where they showed up at sandy's treedome during the "winter" its been a while since I saw that episode so I dont remember :p

Speaking of witch, why didn't you add him in the Original game? That would've been a clever (and scary ideas for the player(s)) idea.
I can see one reason why he isn't a enemy in the original game.
But I still wonder what it would've been like if he was still in the game as still either a enemy or even easteregg.

I kind of understand as to why this didn’t make it into the final game. It wouldn’t make sense for there to be some random burning torches in Sandy’s Treedome while it’s literally SNOWING inside of it. Also, it wouldn’t really make sense if you couldn’t enter Sandy’s tree in the level.
wow what a change firts this level it was average in the update is intense but the original versión is so cool can you make a list with al levels original dificults,screens please bit theresa are people say for example goofy goobers is hard and the industrial park say is hard too can you make plwase a list with al levels original dificult and screens please
Sandy's Treedome was the only level who's difficulty and design was different from the final release.

Sandy's Treedome was the only level in this build that was drastically different. The old versions of the other levels, such as Industrial Park, are identical to the full release. Only the visuals and animations looking more choppy and dated.

Hey uh its stupid to ask but can you port this game to android somehow i realy like this game but i dont have a pc so me and lots of people will be so happy!
I can see why this was cut the level was dull and boring and too easy and having random torches on the floor didn't really make sense and lack or area, I like the current one we got the flamethrower plot made alot more sense then grabbing conveniently placed torches lamo
