Truly the most insightful discussion I've ever heard on baptism! Made me wish R.C. could come back and tell us what he now knows. (: Thank you so much for that very edifying discussion.

Absolutely. Born with a fallen human nature and tainted by original sin, children also have need of the new birth in Baptism to be freed from the power of darkness and brought into the realm of the freedom of the children of God, to which all men are called The sheer gratuitousness of the grace of salvation is particularly manifest in infant Baptism. The Church and the parents would deny a child the priceless grace of becoming a child of God were they not to confer Baptism shortly after birth.

I was baptised November 2, 1968, when I was a couple of months old. And NO one, no baptist, demon, angel or other force can nullify or take that away from me.

a child cannot account for themselves, so it should be a moot point.
when they reach an age of accountability, recognizing response needed, or responsibility,
then we are ready for discussion

The cool kids factor is huge.

Children are innocent untill they understand right from wrong, baptizing them as babies is unnecessary and borders on sacrilege.IMHO

if one is to believe, and be baptized then one would probably say, no to infant baptism...

a professing Christian who cannot account to God for their need of Him, His salvation, His washing away of sins, then is also not ready to account for a "true" baptism or conversion. Unless one is fully sold out to put the hand the plow why get started? This also requires a response or responsibility on the grown-up's part.
