My grandparents favorite casino for YEARS was always the Showboat. Once the Showboat casino closed, my grandparents followed much of their favorite staff members over to Harrah’s on the marina side, which is their usual place now. I’m sad I never got to see Showboat in its prime, as back then I wasn’t old enough to enjoy AC 😅

I remember it. Was my favorite. House of Blues was awesome. And the best buffet ever!

It was the first casino I ever visited, as a 21-year-old in April 2014. It's the one that got me into casinos and AC, so hence why I love the Nu Yawk channel. The casino closed later that same year!

Im just talking out my rear here. But id suspect they would keep the aracde and spaces they did change in tact, and probably reopen the poker room, and hopefully a small room for table games and another room for slots. I would love a second boardwalk poker room. Especially since i love staying at Ocean.

    • @NuYawk
      @NuYawk  18 дней назад +3

Good ideas, but I'm thinking they would want the casino right off the boardwalk (where the arcade currently is), and most likely relocate the arcade to one of the many vacant spots (like the old buffet). Who knows. If they do get a casino, we'll all find out eventually! Thanks LouieB for watching and subscribing!

3:20 Hey Jeff not sure if you noticed but a lot of the old slot machine signs are still there lit up on the posts/columns in the middle of the racetrack! The one on the left even still says “QuickHit” like the slot machines did.

I know you've pointed out the pools in some of your previous videos, but you need an all encompassing video of them all. Pros Cons. Fees if any. Kid policy. Adults only. etc. Keep up the good work!

Truthfully, they need to do something to that place. Its antiquated, dark and kind of creepy. With the arcade and Waterpark they really need to make it more inviting. Having the drug addicts at the door doesn't help either

If they can get the casino license from the jersey gaming commission (in their infinite wisdom 🤣) would love to see it AC needs to make a push to get the Vegas travelers. I can’t see a new casino of any size opening here. The AC gambling market can’t expand because there’s too much out of state competition today. If anything, the number of gamblers traveling to AC will only continue to diminish. I’m still glad to see the Showboat coming into its own as a non-casino destination.

The arcade overall is great. When you win on a ticket game, you actually win a good amount of tickets and not just a few. My son ended up cashing in for a giant dog stuffy that all eyes were on him when walking back to the room. I'd say we spent about $150-200 in game cards that lasted for 2 days. I had more fun at the water park than my 9 year old last Summer. Plus, the Hard Rock Craps dice were in my favor one night, so trip money won back covering all expenses.

Island at Showboat was a backup plan when I was rained out for a beach day in Island Beach State Park. It was fine. It was my first time at an indoor waterpark. I've been to Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach so my standards weren't best calibrated for something like Island. I had seen Dream Works Water Park at American Dream, but never gone, so I can't make proper comparisons.

Hey Jeff, you could propose a video and script to the various hotels/restaurants and play up what is in it for them. You might need to discuss with the social media person. They are bean counters so they will weigh off what is in it for them. It may not be that profitable for you but it may be a start.😊

She gets the food and rooms comped from what I can tell. Another called Danny the Medic has a smaller following barters stuff from Restaurants. It might be an idea for you to sell to the Atlantic city casinos although they may wait until the off season to take you up on this. Atlantic city casinos have some pressure on them as NYC casinos are coming in a couple years.

I think, here comes a sore section, that casinos watch RUclips and know how to cater their freeplay and comps. I think they would like Vloggers to 'play it up,' without saying anything. I don't think most people get the comps you "RUclips Vloggers get" if they gamble $100 a visit and stay at their property and eat at their property. Sometimes it is the location from where you live in proximity to the casino and other casinos you could possibly visit. Most of us gamble much more money and are not able to spend, as you mentioned 2 years ago, 'half of the 365 days in casino hotels.'

We've been down this road before Richard. If they do, you are correct, they don't say anything. That being said, with the exception of rooms and an occasional meal comp, I pay for everything else you watch me do on this channel and have the receipts to prove it. Its not cheap, but the RUclips ads help pay for it, not so much the places I visit. Im going to need some new equipment soon. If I mention the camera company in my videos do you think I'd get a deal? I don't think so, its coming out of my pocket. I dont think I ever said I spent half of my year on the road (although sometimes it feels like it). Family and friends would never see me and Tom & Jerry (the cats) would starve. LOL! Thanks!

@@NuYawk It's not personal. Many gamble more than some RUclips Vloggers say they're gambling and they keep saying 'keep your rewards card in,' and some of us aren't getting what RUclips Vloggers get in comps even if we keep our rewards card in. Sometimes, it's the location. Atlantic City is vying for New Jersey residents, with casinos (how many 7?) in Atlantic City, 2 in Philly, 1 in Baltimore (better check my numbers), 1 in D.C., 3 in New York, all around once-nearby Atlantic City, LOL. As a CEO, I'd spend 10 minutes a day seeing what they say about my property on social media; wouldn't a smart CEO? You're a positive person; I'd want you to visit my property. Many aren't getting the offers across America that you're getting, betting around $100 a trip.

@@NuYawk I don't know what's happening. I type a response and it doesn't show up. Same problem on some other RUclips channels. I'm going to keep saying that as a CEO, I'd spend 10 minutes a day looking at what social media is saying about my property. You're a positive person; I'd want you at my property. You say you gamble about $100 a visit; many of us aren't getting the same comps you say you're getting. I'm going to keep saying that because I lost a lot more money last week. And the week before that. Gambling. With my card in. And I don't get the offers RUclips Vloggers get. I know you spend a lot of out of pocket cash. I prefer the Howard Johnson's near Tennessee Av. than pay resort fees and taxes. I just think consumers who watch your channel or many other RUclips channels should expect if you keep your card in and gamble $100 (or $500 for that matter) should think they're likely to get a free night, even with fees and taxes. It's not like that in much of the country. I don't think it's like that in Atlantic City. You're not doing anything wrong. I would favor your channel, and Brian Christopher's, and the Daily Woo's and would love you to profile my property and say, 'keep your card in.'

@richardhales92 I know its not personal, Ive gotten to know you to well! I just dont want people to think everything is handed to me when it is not. I spent quite a bit down in Florida and already on an up coming New Orleans trip. I work hard, spend $, put in lot of time and effort and get rewarded with ad revenue from RUclips. Most vloggers will tell you the same. Its about the views, not the freebies (although a free room makes life easier)! LOL!

@@NuYawk You certainly do work hard; it's not the way I'd want to spend my vacation, documenting the trip or editing (I don't know what that is, but I don't think I'd like it). I know even if you get the room for free there's fees and taxes that can go over $40/night. There's gas to get there or air fare. No doubt. I don't think things are handed to you; restaurants are expensive and I think that you are seldom comped for your meals. BUT, gamblers who gamble, say, $200 on a trip and keep their rewards in may not get to say as many times as hear RUclips vloggers say, "I got my room comped." "Comped" means you're going to pay at least $40/night in Atlantic City. I don't think it's the norm that a gambler gambles, $200 and keep your card in and get a 'comped' night. Period. I don't get the same results. I do think I'd pick out people, as a CEO, who I would want filming at my property and give them more comps since they're helping to draw an audience. I would, if it was legal, give them more comped nights especially if they are telling their audience "I got this by keeping my card in, paying for everything and gambling $100" I do not think people who do this will get the same result as RUclipsr's. Gambling, gambling, gambling. I have done this, stayed at a property using my rewards card and gambled well over $100 and still waiting to get a comped room. It's not happening. It could be your casino credit card that's doing it. It could be your location. It could be Atlantic City with a lot of competitive casinos. But I gamble more each week and do not get comps. Period. I mean $15 freeplay
