Piers was my favorite Gym Battle in my Pokémon Sword, the lack of Dynamaxing was refreshing.

Yep, love how he's a dark-type gym leader and always shows a TRUE battle by essentially never using the Pokemon Rumble Boss Ex Machina mechanic that they replaced mega evolution and z-moves with.
i loved his character + how the battle felt like it was in gen5 again
Also the lack of crowds, lack of puzzle solving, just you, a small room, and the gym leader
@@PyroGothNerd there was an audience, it was just a very small audience. The audience is technically all of the team yell members, but I get what you mean. It feels more personal than every other gym leader

So yes, for gym leaders definitely yes.
Y'all get THREE elite four members (Karen, Sidney, Grimsley) plus a Kahuna (Nanu), who is technically also an Elite Four except he stepped down before they officially set it up and his successor was Ghost Type.
But nah, you gotta celebrate that downgrade when you finally get that gym leader position.
Dark type trainers everybody! They need to be seen as unpopular I guess to fit their misunderstood persona.
Meanwhile Grass type be like, "yo we got a ton of gyms, when are we getting representation in the Elite Four?"

@@proudlarry8225 I think most of it comes down to type balance. Grass types are normally pretty weak and have status effects etc. so teaches that to new players, plus they're weak to bug which is commonly found in the first routes.
Dark is pretty strong, they're weak to fighting and fairy (and also bug funnily enough) so are more suited to E4 or at least late game.

Hi! Your English is good! However, (sorry if I sound annoying I just want to help out!) Nezu is a proper noun since it’s a name, so you wouldn’t but ‘the’ in front of it. Player is a common noun, so you’d put ‘the’ in front of it. Other than that, spot on!

The OG track is actually pretty good as well but of course this cover gives it the final touch the spice it needed to be insaine. 😎 \m/ especially cool since it's the only gym leader with his own theme.

You could always look to the Twilight Wings episodes on the main Pokemon channel. Piers’ appearances shows that he has this tired gruffy voice, which IMO suits him pretty well from the way he carries himself. Gamefreak should really just get the voice actors the Pokemon channel hired to be the ones for the English VAs and other VAs for other languages.

Nah, it should sound closer to the warriors or knocked loose or xibalba or something. Or more traditional punk like the ramones or the sex pistols. This is a killer cover but its so far from punk its crazy to consider this a punk rocker's theme.
