Thank you man for the step-by-step instructions to operate SQ8. Personally I think it's a great little product For under $15, this is my 2nd one however Because the 1st 1I wanna say malfunction because I left it charging too long and as you probably know if you leave it charging for more than 20 minutes the entire unit yet extremely, insanely hot. It says to charger for 3 hours for a full charge but my advice to anyone who buys One of these is to charge it in check the temperature of the unit every 10 to 15 minutes because I let my in charge for 45 minutes without checking on it.(and when I'm saying the above facts These are facts about the 1st 1I had ) Which I just threw away but I bought another one and gave it a chance and it really is a cool little unit but as anyone knows who buys it the instructions that come with it are just a complete joke. You really cannot find a better how to video on RUclips or the Internet Then the video you are watching right now. The only thing better I could have asked for is if I could have gotten a transcript of everything this guy said or instructions in ENGLISH in a PDF format to print out and read like that. So, Anyways, thank you man for taking the time to do that video. To some people it really helps out a lot And I mean a lot. Have a great day
Thanks for the video! Although I'm wondering if anyone has any luck with the motion detection? It seems to only work if the camera itself moves, not if there is actual motion in front of the camera.
Good video man! I follow your direction and everything working good but only one thing is wrong! I try to record on the 1080 mode it record have my voice or noise but no pictures! Why? Thanks
I need some with using my camera / cameras. Have purchased a few of the SQ8's as well as 2 SQ11's but am struggling to get either of them to work. When pressing the power button on my cameras the goes blue and then flashes red/blue before going off. The camera does not seem to go into standby mode. I have charged the camera's but also, how do you know when they are fully charged? The camera's were lugged into the PC to charge for at least about an hour each. Thanks.
I am in the SAME boat. I charge on computer it gets hot and i thought I fried it PLUS i got the SD card stuck inside. So i had to take it apart, remove card and put back together. So i ordered another and i am now using a battery that i use to charge my cell phone when i am out and about, to charge it so it doesnt get so hot. But i cannot get the blue light to stay on to work??

I know I'm a little late, but... To set the time of the camera: Create a textfile called TIMERSET.txt on the root of the flash disk. It should contain only this: 20171016102000 Y in a single line, no enter behind the Y Then disconnect the camera from usb and turn it on. Now the camera has the time set correctly (if you changed the year month day hour second tho the actual time) AND it will put the time under the images it takes. If you change the Y to a N it will not display the time under the image.
This happened to me too. There's a tiny screw on top behind the power/mode buttons. Carefully remove screw, carefully pull camera apart, remove SD Card and put camera and screw back together. Its really easy.
Product came with no usable instructions. Having to hunt down this video invalidates the value of the product, finally it doesn't work at all. Very disappointed.
Same here. I got a couple of them over 2 years ago and I still don't know how to use them and haven't taken one photo or video. I can't get it to work for anything. All it does is flash lights now and then and get exceptionally HOT after charging. I'm getting to think that the only thing it's ever going to produce is FIRE!!! As far as I know... It doesn't work and it's too light to be a paperweight. Also here... it came with absolutely NO INSTRUCTIONS or any kind of documentation. Now I have a dozen SQ11's and no documentation with them either. I understand what they're selling is a SCAM!!!

When depressing the on/off, blue light flashes 9 times. Nothing else can be done after that.
Also no TV connector cable was included and the clip will NOT hold the camera!
I bought two of these and both don't work. The blue light is always on and in standby mode, no matter what I do.

needs a mini sd to work and stay on. light stays red when fully charged

I noticed it gets really hot when plugged into a direct USB charger. When connected to the PC it gets warm, but not as hot.

Yes it can. If you get a nice size memory card and attach it to a power bank and set it on motion detection. It can go for hours.
