We were in Galloway for the first time two years ago in our camper van. I saw "Big Country loop" on RWGPS and oh boy what a ride it was. Glad to be on hardtails and not gravel bikes. The only disappointment was the difficulty in finding a cafe open. We just snuck into Clatteringshaws Visitor Centre before they closed at 3pm but no hot food. Very disappointed on our return this year to find that cafe has now shut due to lack of numbers, as are the toilets. Galloway is really wild but you need to be self sufficient! Highly recommended. Thanks for the documentation.
I’m guessing from the daffodils earlier on in the video that you were there in the spring, not the autumn. Having said that, I agree with you that it is a fabulous part of the country. I had my first visit there only a couple of weeks ago, and recognise some of the shots (the viaduct and the scary warning sign!). I did a couple of gravel rides and some mountain biking at the trail centres in the area. I’ll definitely go back. Thanks again for another inspiring video.
@@Cycling366 you actually said the home of the best gravel route in the UK. I would say the Cairngorms is better and with more routes and easy access to even more. I live within a short distance of D&G but I far prefer going north. @horrifying there are loads on Komoot I have loads in my collections.
Great video and the scenery is spectacular. Thanks for taking us along with your Dad.
Thanks very much!
Beautiful vid (as always) and what a fantastic way to look back on a trip with your dad. I'll add this one to my list a future trip.
Thank you! Yeah it’s like a catalogue of memories to look back on in future. Definitely worth a visit!
I completely agree with you, D&G is overlooked but beautiful and, for those of us south of the border, it is much more accessible ❤
Yeah that’s another bonus, only a few hours drive for me vs an all day drive up the the highlands
Yep, know the area well. Had a few days based in NS in May. Lovely video. Might share it with my son....hint!
Thanks for watching! Definitely worth a share 😂

Ahh that’s annoying about the cafe. I visited it in 2021 but it was shut when we went on this bike trip in 2022!

Indeed! Well spotted. Yeah I’m definitely coming back again to do some different parts of the area. Thanks for watching!
Ohhhh! I’m not sure I can agree with you it being the best Gravel route in Scotland I think there are others that are better🚴🏻♀️
Sharing is caring😅, any links to routes? Done a few in Scotland but always on the hunt for new recommended routes.
Technically didn’t say this was the best! I said the best country for gravel routes is Scotland 😂
Second this! Any suggestions?

Why were you all wearing masks in the gem museum?
Recorded during COVID.
Spring 2022
Towards the tail end of the Covid stuff but masks were still mandatory at this point 👍
@@Cycling366 Bizarre times they were for sure. Or should I say totalitarian.
