John's happiness is very refreshing, your laugh should be bottled and given to the world, what a combo you both guys are! Happy Easter
Dom....have a look on utube for "Wide MGB". Its about an American guy who sawed a "66 MGB in half lengthwise and widened it using a homemade English Wheel. Such skill !
Congratulations on 100,000!
You have spanned a century or two, the Ranalah to a CNC plasma table, all in one episode!
I love watching you two, boys with their new toys, kids in a toy shop. Great enthusiasm. Happy Easter
Thanks, its always a great day, watching one of your videos. Happy Easter to you both :)
Happy Easter!
That table looks an amazing piece of kit, nothing will hold you back now
Great video Dom . . . you and John are the Dream Team.
Watching Dom and John, what more do you need 👍👍👍.
Awesome, I have had a plasma table from Rob for a few years now it's a great machine with the best service, you will love it for sure.
I can’t wait to get it fired up!
@@DominicChineas I have some good ready to cut files that I made if your interested that are great to learn how the machine works.
4:47 Almost the story of my Rambler Rogue (SC/Rambler clone now). Dream car since kid, yes. Accident, yes. Started project and taken apart, yes. Sandblasted, yes. Left in a barn to rust, yes. 30 years, yes Restored, yes, yes, yes....
Another entertaining and informative episode ! You guys ROCK ! Cheers From California 😊
Thank you!!
Great , really interesting Dom and John!
Love the dynamics between you both, John should really be a regular from now on, and oh great to see some Ranalah action as well, could we get an update from the king of wheeling Geoff Moss as a believe he has one of your prototypes going through its paces?, would love one personally but probably too heavy to sit in the front lounge and beyond my budget, I truly hope you succeed with these amazing rolling machines as from what I've seen available yours are in a different league in terms of quality and history for that matter, absolutely love this channel.
I wish i had a mate like John not because he is a wealth of knowledge with cars but he would be a great guy to be around period always laughing brings a lot of joy to people I'm sure you guys sit down often behind cameras and share a great friendship
would be any more ranalah to be made
Yes more on the way!
@@DominicChineas what a price for a ranalah
I've been looking forward to seeing "Project Zippy" again. 👍....... Where exactly in Pennsylvania was this found?, I ask because I live in Pennsylvania.......Also, how many Hot Pockets can you make in that "Hot Pot"?.......The heat exhaust can be used to make all of those burgers you owe to John.
Definitely interested in the Ranalah, we are talking about doing a scratch built giulietta 750 spider in Aluminium. What is the weight? what anvils would it come with?
It weighs 750kg and comes with a hardened top wheel and 3 lower wheels in the ranalah box
Can you ship the English Wheel to Canada? 🤪
Christ !How long have you working on the 356?
3:45 Rob has a proper accent
Dom, I’m so interested in the Ranalah, being trying to contact you for months…please get in touch !
Hi Steve! How have you been trying to contact me? Sorry I have missed you! Send me an email, domchinea@gmail.com
Thank you
Email en route !
Nice videos but music too loud.
Great video Dom great to see John being more involved makes everyone smile
I'd love to see you and John get a TV series...you two together are gold
john the hat / the gold
They don’t need a tv series, they’ve got this. To do this on tv it’d have to be really condensed and would lose what makes this so good
Agreed I could watch you two all day
@@aaronledwidge6064 lol that’s going a bit far 😂
Yeah, they're like Noddy and Big Ears, these two.
You’ll want to line the furnace with some refectory cement (over the insulation)otherwise the ceramic wool will break down and release fibers I rot he air that are very hazardous to breathe. They don’t usually come lined because it would inevitably crack in shipping.
I’ll second the above . I put a ceramic wool rigidiser on the one I made then covered it in a cement kiln lining . The horror stories of breathing in the fibres sound nasty .
Refectory cement? For building a canteen? I think you mean refractory.
😄
I don't know .......big boys toys ! You two are incorrigible !
Glad to hear Make It At Market has been recommissioned. It was an interesting bit of TV. What's Dom's volume piece?😉
Brilliant news about your program, partway through the last series my wife got taken into Hospital and very nearly died, she had to have 2 very urgent life saving operations. After getting home from my visits from intensive care I was able to unwind by watching, a brilliant program. And what Stars the guys at Extreme are, hopefully it will help with putting your Porsche back together. 👍🤗
John is such a positive man, absolute joy to be around I reckon!
What I really wish was that I could fund a restoration of my old 1969 Opel GT. It was my first car that I bought when I was 15 and it's still sat in my garage.
Hi, excellent video. Note, as a bronze casting apprentice many years ago, beware to keep water away from the furnace and crucible as it can explode. Water is heavier than molten metal, it sinks, skins over, turns to steam and the whole pot explodes. Heat your tools dry before use. Keep some sand around to put a fire out with molten metal. Rebar C tongs to get the crucible out, and a ring with 2 opposite rebars welded, one bent 90 degrees to pour the metal, on a brick. Green sand is 1 part clay and 6 parts sand with just enough water to make a fist clump, not much. Be aware. Thank you, Dan Porter
Great vid! You'll love the plasma table. I bought a CNC router a couple of years ago, same principles, just cuts wood instead. I now make guitar and ukulele components on mine. Keeps me off the streets! 🙂
You might want to coat the ceramic wool or both of you might/will get silicosis. Beeing on a blacksmith forum and metal casting forum iv seen x-ray of bad lungs.
Great Old-school video Dom. Loved the Beetle videos but good to be back to Porsche, Ranalah and Honest John ❤️❤️❤️
If you look at the channel Doubleboost, I believe he has an Xtreme Plasma table.
He does indeed! Obviously a good choice
Boys and their toys! Been watching the Kris Harbour channel and he uses a plasma cutter CNC machine for all kinds of metalwork projects. The CAD looks a bit involved though! Good luck.
Any news on the mini ranalah?
They are in the works! I hope they won’t be long now
Great Video 👍 Dom and John make a great team. Great friendship it looks like. Be nice to take a trip around John's workshop.
I was sure I was subscribed , but anyway , great vid as always ,, some sounds one never gets tired of hearing ,,, watch the eyebrows when your playing with your new toy 😂😂👍
I presume you finally got the Panel issue resolved on the 356?
Great show both, great news about the new TV show great Guy's have a nice day both !!!.
I saw the car in person at the ‘practical classics - classic car and restoration show Birmingham NEC’ in the barn find section, I say car but there is very little left, pretty deceptive on camera but to see it in person you can appreciate the amount of work that needs to be done.
Glad you got to see it!! Thank you
Would love to have a Ranalah, but cant imagine the amount of stamps and the size of the envelope to get it to Michigan. 🤔😏
Great stuff!!!!! That plasma table looks an interesting bit of kit. With all those toys you have now Dom, you will never be going home......
Welcome to the Xtreme plasma club
Any news on the miniature/desktop ranalahs?
Welcome to the club Dom 😀 The Xtreme plasma tables are awesome.
Life is good.
Another Ranalah ready for market AND a new state of the art plasma cutter for the shop AND the new series ready for production.
Nice work. The furnace are great. Melts metal reel easy. This guy has a good lifter for the crucible handling ruclips.net/video/e98FACBbii4/видео.html Great you got another wheeling machine ready would love to drive one of them. But don’t think I can justify a professional one. Keep up the great work. Big👍
That was a seriously enjoyable episode, love the passion.
Hi Dom & John. That was an excellent program so many intresting things to see well done to you both.
Congrats on the new propane furnace, I hope you find success with it. One tip I've seen from watching another channel, bigstackD Casting - placing a small piece of cardboard underneath the crucible should help prevent it from sticking in the furnace.
I wish I had the funds to afford that Porsche once you're done with it. I'm super excited to see it finished.
irish stew with dumplings,please
Coming right up! Some babbitt on the side? Haha
WTF is a Babbit?
Ceramic fibre insulation is worse than fibre glass for your lungs. It's not so dangerous once it's been used once, don't breath the dust and be careful with handling it!
Thank you for the warning!
That plasma table will be super useful, I have a smaller one and it's been great. Only thing I'd caution is yours doesn't appear to have a water table under the bed and you may find you want one. They throw major amounts of metal dust everywhere without, and a lot of sparks.
It does have the water trays I think we will be ok, thank you for the warning!
@@DominicChineas ah good to hear. Enjoy!
You guys are great together and I love following your adventures 🌞
A 4’ x 4’ CNC PLASMA CUTTER. THINK OF THE POSSIBILITIES Maybe a day late when you get this but. HAPPY EASTER 🐇🐣🐰
Wow what a machine to have in the workshop, I can see some fun had with it. Another excellent video done with a great friend. Happy Easter both.
Happy Easter!
would 2/6d do it Dom?
3 bob might (with a half crown as a back hander).
Good to see the Porsche again, hoping for a bit of progress on it please - will your new plasma table be useful re panels for it?
It will be very useful for making brackets to hold bits etc!
Look s like John got a slight tan !!!
You’re getting pro on the pouring Dom.
👍👍
I think we have cracked it now!
I saw "Kris Harbour natural building" get and use one of those X-treme Plasma Cutters. He seems to be happy with it. Have fun.
Hi Dom, loved the latest episode! I'd be interested in No. 3. How much and I'll see if it's in my budget? Cheers
Hi, it’s £8k, thank you!
@@DominicChineas Hi Dom, it's over my budget right now but I definitely want one! Are you likely to have more for sale towards the end of this year/beginning of 2024? It'll give me some time to save! :-)
Fantastic video guys looking forward to seeing more Dom with the new furnace you could have another sideline get yourself sum mould's melt down scrap copper, aluminium etc in to bars Many people do that To earn extra cash and video content 👌 love the channel and what you and Jon do keep up the hard work ♥️
Excellent video as always!
What's the going rate for a new Ranalah? If only I had a nice big workshop!!
That plasma table will be a godsend……the world your shrimp……!!!!!
The new toy looks exciting
I can’t wait to fire it up!
@@DominicChineas have you watched any of Urchfab on RUclips? (If you haven't you'll love it!) But he uses an Xtreme Plasma table very effectively.
If you're still looking for examples of original Ranalahs still out in the wild, it might be worth a visit to Envisage Classic and Bespoke in Coventry.
Amazing vehicles at that Restoration Show. I love all those minis at the show. You two are wonderful.
That truck is like one of the pods from Thunderbird 2, I half expected to see the Mole come rolling out and disappear into the ground! 🤣
Wow! I can''t wait to see the plasma cutter in action! John's a champ - I'm sure you two will have a lot of fun with your new toy.
🤗👍👏👏👏
Watch Doubleboosts video's, you met him at the show for your plasma table.
You lucky boy (that new machine thingy!) Wow!
You have me excited with your secrets, but I hate waiting
Does John drive a Renault master ?
You too are a class act, brilliant.
We really enjoyed the new show, glad to see you got picked up for a second season.
Hey Dom, I am a new subscriber and LOVE this restoration project. I went back to see if you had any video on how or where you found this car, but didn't see anything. Can you maybe provide some details on where you found it & how you got it back to your shop? (Any Videos?) I am interested in this projects history before you took possession. Thanks a bunch and keep up the FANTASTIC work!!!
In episode one, at 2 minutes in (ruclips.net/video/miqCYi77-Jc/видео.html), Dom gives a little backstory to how it came about.
Brilliant Dom and John. Glad to hear Make it and Market is coming back, the Porsche looked great at the show. Looking forward to the next episode 👍
Thanks mark! Appreciate it
👍
Thank you Dom & John a great episode . Love your work. Cheers
Thank you!
I’m interested in a Ranalah! Love the channel, btw. #3 may be a little early, I’m still building my shop for the next few months, but I’d love to put my name on #4 or #5. Drop me a line.
I’m not sure how I drop you a line on here but you can get hold of me on Instagram or email, I have #4 in the workshop now!
@@DominicChineas Of course! My apologies, email sent.
The c&c machine was inevitable any workshop that's trying to progress into the 21st century needs one it will save so much time.
But I had the distinct impression that Dom is trying to progress into the 20th Century. 😉
Haha!
Very good video
Some more "Repair Shop" orientated (behind the scenes) footage would be welcomed by myself and many more of your followers. I find the restoration of junk cars a bit boring. Am I the only person who finds John very irritating?
I’ll be back filming at the barn soon so expect some repair shop content soon,
I think it’s literally just you that finds jon irritating, what a horrible thing to say?!
Guys , bloody awesome and none of the crazy American spitting dummies etc. This has mainstream TV written all over it.
Thank you!
Jincheng Zhang - Compress Thank You for Your Help..12min50
I worked in a balance weight factory many moons ago building lead injection machines , we had to add tin in the later years , more heat and leaks alot easier . Like the evolution of the the setting up jigs .
