I bought one as a kit from eBay, and soldering it together was part of the fun!! I also bought a kit with the in12 tubes, (hasn't arrived yet), and will buy an in18 kit in the future.
These Tube clocks look really cool... and a great review by the way... they are a little expensive, from $180 - $330, for me it's a want currently and not a need... but thanks for the vid
@@wembley636 No worries, but just remember to check that you have the tools necessary to build it. Though you can probably access them one way or another ;)
I am still puzzled by that 'tube preserve' sequence. I have made myself Nixie clock (with six IN-12) in 1994, running them pretty close to the max current, they run since that time with no issues.
citekare yes I have it's plugged in all the time as ideally you don't want the tubes on when you're not about as it reduces their life. Ive found it works very well, sometimes if your sat very still it won't see you but thats rare. It's all about placement but it does pick you up easily from 3 or 4 meters away. It's a good feature and the tubes turn on very quickly.
I built mine from board only kit, I like the look of nixie clock without bottom lights. Edit: the count not going down is a failing rotary switch fault._
Can anyone explain the meaning of (in-12 or in-14) etc???...is this a unit of measure used to identify the actual Nixie tube???.. any help would be appreciated.🤠👍
I was really disappointed with this product. I was thinking of getting one but it looks so cheap and flimsy in real life. If it had a polished metal base...maybe copper/brass/aluminium it would look 100% better.
The edge of the plastic looks bad with cut marks that should be polished out and if I had purchased this kit with that shit remote it would go back and the wrong supply I think you got a bad deal, Nixie clocks should be quality that what it's all about!!

You can build one yourself with a kit from Ebay for around a $100
@@quantumoverlord4413 thanks for the heads up

They have been on for 24/7
That’s impressive I thought the tubes burn out easily
@@StraitClownin909 , yes 24/7
@@nikolaipavlov544 that's freaking cook man
Have you used the proximity sensor? Curious to know how well that works.

Thank you. I'm planning on getting that same one in a couple of months, so it is nice to see it in action.
citekare I think you'll like it I love mine. It's always a talking point for visitors.
Home Gadget ”reduces their life” . Do you know for how long these will work? Also using the proximity sensor so it’s not on 24/7.
Hi can u recommend me the best type of tubes?
Depends on what you're looking for.
What size?
Is there a nixie clock that also has a timer feature? I need something to count the amount of time 30min-1hr.
how long do these things last? I want to get one but it's very expensive for a clock
Ours is 4 years old and still going with no issues. The tubes are only on when they detect presence so that prolongs life.
@@homegadget-mark what do you use to detect presence?
@@FrozenShotz25 That thing that he says that captures infrared is actually a motion sensor.

cheap communist crap

Yes, it refers to the size and form of the nixie tube.
where do I buy?
There's a website literally on the box
Amazon
Very pretty and i want one
You can by Nixie clocks from lots of places on the internet, this one came from nixieshop.com
@Bluecoat Warrior Tv I heard some of these clocks are motion activated to preserve the life of the tubes. Hopefully that is the issue with your clock.
What's the biggest tube this company sells? I see three sizes but im new to this. Thanks
I believe In18 is the biggest but take a look on their website incase thats changed.

next time get it as a kit so you don't have those shipping damages. also why not choose a model with a proper formed 5 instead of the upside down 2
Most nixie tunes are like that
I love this inversed 2 to represent a 5. I've choose mine for this. Don't want regular 5 for this vintage style clock.
I agree! Upside down "2's" do NOT look like "5's". They look like upside down "2's".
How much this watch???
*SSSR
It looks like CCCP because it’s in Cyrillic (modified Greek script used as default in Russian)
Not necessarily modified greek script, but yes, Cyrillic
I need one now
Cool but IN14 can only give 7400h of lifetime. It's mean that you need to change tube every year. (
It looks like one the remotes made in China
Yes so disappointing for a vintage clock
remote for what???
Tuấn nguyễn Đình the remote controls the led lights.
Cool! Отличная работа !!!
this is the steins gate divergence meter...
Steins Gate anyone¿?
White Clone Yeah here for Steins;Gate
seen these 3 years before i played the vn, loved them since. played the game and finally learnt what they were called, so i guess?
*The numbers Mason...*
Are you kidding me, your getting into discussing the box??
The built quality seems to be awful :)
turn the knob slowly
sorry it looks very cheap and low quality to me :/

El psy congroo
it is crazy - soviet nixie digits with chinese electronics in a pretentious package with a trident of russian dukes of the 10-12th centuries.
еб,моя страна designed
Опа , Украина , родина моя так сказать......
your 5 is upside down 2
Yes it sure is, it's how most of the nixie tubes were made as it saved parts. Not all are like this but many are.
@@homegadget-mark That's what I like. These inversed 2 are my favorites.
Poor quality and not well made by the look of it.
🤣still made in Ukraine
