I wasn’t a cat person. I didn’t like cats. I didn’t want cats. Somebody gave me two kittens. I wasn’t going to keep the two kittens that was 40 years ago. I still have cats in my life. I can’t imagine what my life would be without a cat in it.
Same here! Cats intimidated this dog person….until a little barn cat, Cleo, was place in my arms.

M dad built little stools so my cats could watch the snooker and chase the balls all over the screen....he didn't want them to hurt themselves falling off the top of the tv..back when tv's had tops!! 🥰

The only reason I don't want a cat yet, is I'm still in pain from having to put down my two fur babies each within nine months of each other 💔 when the time comes I'll have to find a bonded pair, I live alone and they need to keep each other company, it might not bother most cats to be left alone for ten to twelve hours a day, but it bothers me.
Over the last year I lost three 18 yo rescues and a 17 yo rescues, all with me since they were wee kitties. Down to six rescues.

I kinda grew up around cats so I wasn't given any chance to not like them 😅
Been an animal person all of my seventy three years but the best match for me is cats. Seems they come out of nowhere even. Or get dumped on me. That's ok as cats are so complex in their various personalities just like people. Never a dull moment. Most of mine have grown old but a recent rescue Cleopatra gave us four babies. That's perked up the geriatric cats around here. Lightens my soul too as they scamper about.
