Goldheart...yes I would agree with that! The biggest difference we noticed on the Mexico City Subway was how there are not many people just hanging out in the subway.
Wow I have been living in NYC for 10 years!! Originally from Napa Valley!!! And the amount of crime that happens inside the subway and how dirty and expensive it is. It’s 2.90 for one way ticket 🎫 and I have been robbed and spit on multiple times. Never been to Mexico City, but this seems a lot nicer
We had a great experience eon the Mexico City subway. I am sure it has bad areas also and we pretty much only rode it during the day. It was all good for us though!
You should also try the new modern Cablebús - cable cars. You can take line 2 from the Constutión de 1917 subway stop. They only cost 7 pesos and give you an amazing view of the city.
What a great tip when visiting Mexico City! Thanks a ton for the info. Will definitely try this next time! Almost at 1,000 subs. Great work, I just subscribed!
Ok so im from Mexico city and my husband is from NY and hes very familiar about how the subway is in nyc so 3 weeks ago when we visited my family in Mexico we use the metro to get around, anyways my husband was surprised about how the metro was and he told me that its clean and better then the nyc subway but obviously theres always ups and downs using subway/metro systems.
Always ups and downs to all the systems! It was all for us in CDMX, but I know others might not feel that way about the Mexico City subway. Thanks so much for watching and commenting! 👌
Greetings on your visit... I'm a native and user almos since I was born... almost 53 years ago... For many of us frequent user locals it all lacks an order of magnitude in maintenance and is way behind the full potential it had at the late 90's, anyway, glad you've enjoyed your visit.
The most crowded ive ever seen a train system be is Seattle on sport game days. Their so full you literally CANT even get in, and the platforms are all full too. Great video though i was wondering how crowded and stuff they may be in Mexico City. Looks pretty standard! :)
Thanks Kyle and Jess. Working hard to keep the content coming as we switch from living in the van to living in a house. Great to see you guys back in Merida!
Love a subway system to explore a large city. Looks like you guys had such a wonderful trip. We will be catching up on all your videos to see your adventures. :) Miss you guys.
Love the video! But don't carry anything on your back pockets, specially your phone! Nothing to do with being in CDMX, either. I would recommend the same if you're in LA or NY or basically any major city in the world. Keep up the great job! 👍
Safe, clean, super friendly. Mexico is growing! America is dying. Lmaoo NYC is horrific. And expensive. I should know, i die here slowly, year by year. We dont live in NYC, we die.
The subway in this city is a mess. I guess you had luck. The trains tend to delay for too long in a station, or in peak hours, people act much worse than wild animals just to get in/out of the train, or even just get a bloody seat. Let alone, the lack of maintenance some stations still show. Like for instance, Pantitlán, where there's bridges on the brink of COLLAPSING just like the railway on Line 12 did. Maybe you foreign tourists see them as an amazing experience, but for one that has to endure the ordeal of having to use such a transport on a daily basis... Eh... I guess I'm just tired of this city myself, who knows.
Shin, sorry to hear about your experience. I am sure it has issues. For us it did the trick, but it is a small experience compared to someone using it daily. Hope it improves for you.
depends on the line and time, 9,A & B and closed part of line 1 are always a mess since is the connection to another state I was way happier when I stopped using the crappy Line A and 9
THE PROBLEM WITH THE BUSES IN CDMX AND THE STATE OF MEXICO IN WHICH YOU PAY IN CASH IS THAT YOU HAVE TO KNOW THE NAME OF THE PLACE OF YOUR DESTINATION FOR EXAMPLE YOU TELL HIM I WILL GO DOWN IN CHAPULTEPEC AND WE ARE SO MANY PEOPLE THE DRIVER WILL CHARGE YOU BUT IN SOME CASES LIKE CHAPULTEPEC HE COULD ASK YOU AT WHAT "HEIGHT" SO YOU TELL HIM A MORE EXACT PLACE BECAUSE CHAPULTEPEC IS VERY BIG YOU CAN TELL HIM I GO TO THE ENTRANCE OF THE ZOO OR I GO TO THE CHILDREN'S MUSEUM OR ETC. SO IF YOU DON'T KNOW THE NAMES, AN UBER IS BETTER IN OTHER CASES, BEFORE GOING DOWN, YOU HAVE TO ANTICIPATE YOUR DOWNLOAD AND YOU HAVE TO TELL THE DRIVER I WILL GET OUT AT THAT CORNER (OK IF IT IS ALLOWED) AND YOU HAVE TO REMEMBER THE NAME WHERE YOU GOT UP AND TELL THE DRIVER SO HE CAN CHARGE YOU THE DISTANCE WTF SO IF YOU DON'T KNOW THE CITY YOU WILL NOT KNOW THE NAME OF THE AREA WHERE YOU GOT ON AND UNLESS A TOURIST WILL KNOW WHERE TO GET OFF THE TRANSPORT AND THOSE THINGS THEY CALL COMBIS ARE VANS WHICH SUPPOSEDLY ARE BUILT FOR A COUPLE OF PASSENGERS BUT TO EARN MORE THEY PUT EXTRA SEATS IN THEM AND THE DRIVERS WANT TO PUT IN ALL THE PEOPLE THEY CAN LIKE CANNED SARDINES TOURISTS WITH LUGGAGE SUITCASES IN THESE MINIVANS WILL SUFFER HELL IF THEY TRY TO BOARD THEY BETTER USE UBER AND MORE IF YOU ARE NOT THIN (LESS THAN 50 KILOGRAMS)
I have never been to Mexico before but that's good that they have a subway system transit is so important and green friendly
For sure! It is amazing to see the Mexico City Subway in action!
Love the MC subway.
The retro metro.

It's really, really cheaper, I like that,... I promise that I'll be there, in Mexico 🇲🇽 👍.... Thank you for the information...
Looks safer than NYC 😅
Goldheart...yes I would agree with that! The biggest difference we noticed on the Mexico City Subway was how there are not many people just hanging out in the subway.
Mexico doesn’t put up with the bullshit we do
Yes!!! The crime in the nyc subway is insane
People aren't crazy in Mexico. In NY all you hear is about homeless and druggies pushing people in front of trains and people getting robbed.
no blacks thats why

@@BookItTravel We were hoping to get back to Baja this month but it didn’t work out. We will be there next year for sure.
As mexican, when I saw rhe chicago subway for the first time I felt the same you feel when you see our ugly public schools.😅😅

Good advice! Mexico City or New York the subway is a good place to be cautious.
@@toxqui11 who uses CDMX? People who don't live in CDMX 🤣
Not in east asia 😂 don’t represent every big cities with your limited experience of civilization
Just don't ride in the last wagon... unless you're looking for something specific. 😂
3:22 Basic rule when you ride in the Mexico City Metro..... Never.....Never used your back pocket to phone o wallet, It can be stolen.
O yeah...for sure, couldn't happend in another places in the world.
Thanks Fer TG. Always being aware of your personal things when traveling is so important.
Nice videos 👍

Of course it's cheap, you have dollars, I'm Brazilian and it's not cheap for me.

Pues llégale carnal

Too much better than NY subway
THE PROBLEM WITH THE BUSES IN CDMX AND THE STATE OF MEXICO IN WHICH YOU PAY IN CASH IS THAT YOU HAVE TO KNOW THE NAME OF THE PLACE OF YOUR DESTINATION
FOR EXAMPLE YOU TELL HIM I WILL GO DOWN IN CHAPULTEPEC AND WE ARE SO MANY PEOPLE
THE DRIVER WILL CHARGE YOU
BUT IN SOME CASES LIKE CHAPULTEPEC HE COULD ASK YOU AT WHAT "HEIGHT" SO YOU TELL HIM A MORE EXACT PLACE BECAUSE CHAPULTEPEC IS VERY BIG YOU CAN TELL HIM I GO TO THE ENTRANCE OF THE ZOO OR I GO TO THE CHILDREN'S MUSEUM OR ETC.
SO IF YOU DON'T KNOW THE NAMES, AN UBER IS BETTER
IN OTHER CASES, BEFORE GOING DOWN, YOU HAVE TO ANTICIPATE YOUR DOWNLOAD
AND YOU HAVE TO TELL THE DRIVER I WILL GET OUT AT THAT CORNER (OK IF IT IS ALLOWED)
AND YOU HAVE TO REMEMBER THE NAME WHERE YOU GOT UP AND TELL THE DRIVER SO HE CAN CHARGE YOU THE DISTANCE WTF
SO IF YOU DON'T KNOW THE CITY YOU WILL NOT KNOW THE NAME OF THE AREA WHERE YOU GOT ON AND UNLESS A TOURIST WILL KNOW WHERE TO GET OFF THE TRANSPORT
AND THOSE THINGS THEY CALL COMBIS ARE VANS WHICH SUPPOSEDLY ARE BUILT FOR A COUPLE OF PASSENGERS BUT TO EARN MORE THEY PUT EXTRA SEATS IN THEM AND THE DRIVERS WANT TO PUT IN ALL THE PEOPLE THEY CAN LIKE CANNED SARDINES
TOURISTS WITH LUGGAGE SUITCASES IN THESE MINIVANS WILL SUFFER HELL IF THEY TRY TO BOARD THEY BETTER USE UBER
AND MORE IF YOU ARE NOT THIN (LESS THAN 50 KILOGRAMS)
