German loudspeaker manufacturer Canton presents the successors of the K series!
The cabinet features numerous sweeping curves in a really the elegant design with new drivers and materials. 6 Loudspeaker in total plus also a center channel for Home Theater configuration.
As Flagship, we can find also the Reference GS Edition that is limited to 50 pairs, which bears the name "GS Edition" from company founder and boss Günter Seitz for the company's anniversary and costs €50,000 per pair.
The new Reference Line will be available in 3 different finishes from autumn 2023.

Those largest ones looks a lot like Aida from Sonus Faber.
Imagine my surprise when I was about to commit to a purchase of the 2K Reference which has been highly ranked by German Stereoplay magazine for both sound and value. What will be the cost for the 2K that is replacing the current model; hopefully even with the technical improvements not too much of an increase?
prepared to be disappointed regarding your hopefulness of price. Everything is sky high these days, and of course "expensive" is relative, but I suspect there will be a considerable price increase. I'd love to be proven wrong of course! 😅
It would be awesome if you can review the new Townus 90 speakers. At the same time, describe more details related to the specs and the performance of Townus 90's. I currently own a Canton center Chrono 556.2 and 4 Atmos AR8's. Therefore, looking into replacing my current front mains for the new Townus 90's. I'm running a 5.1.4 setup.
For myself, being a Canton home theatre enthusiast, I would love to see more English reviews on RUclips. It's too bad that Canton is not common in Canada. 😞
Is it possible to place Canton Atmos AR 800 on top ?
Basically, the Ref 1 is the old Ref 2K in terms of enclosure/driver size and number. Except the cabinet weighs plus 10 kilos and the price tag asks for another 2.5K€. And so on. Canton's not alone here. Most manufacturers keep selling us more heavy wood and ever smaller woofers. 200mm is the new 300mm, 220mm already a dying species. And no, they can't move the same amount of air or produce relevant levels below 20Hz. But of course they will sell you a huge 15 inch subwoofer for another $€. Let's face it, these nice cabinets account for 80 or 90 per cent of the cost. Nothing inside is worth more than 1K.
now are the nice opportunities here to get some used REF K speakers by Canton =)
