The most interesting aspect about Kim Hoon, is the he represents Mexico despite having a korean name The reason is that he moved to live in that country to teach taekwondo. It is a good reference to the fact that in real life, koreans who emigrated to Mexico ended up teaching taekwondo and currently Mexico is a country recognized for its good level in that sport.
Here is Kim Hoon's backstory: "Because of his unfortunate childhood, he wandered around the back alleys in the United States. Like Han Bae-dal, he is taught the spirit of taekwondo with the help of his adopting father. After a successful career in the United States, he crossed over to Mexico. There, he strives to expand and spread taekwondo dojangs [korean gyms] for the guidance of youth. Likewise, he is challenged by the "King of Kings" and goes on a long journey." Note: 'King of Kings' is the name of the tournament
The Cool thing about Robert Garcia is that he actually got his own Storyline in "Art of Fighting 3" which proves he has more Character Development than Ryo Sakazaki and all the other Ken Type FG Characters.
Not true. Ryo had AOF1&2, and in those 2 games, Ryo proved worthy as a master of Kyokuken, and fought off Geese Howard. Something no one else, save Terry Bogard, was able to accomplish. Robert's development was strong in AOF3, no doubt about it. But more than Ryo? Not at all. Robert needs at least a few more games where he's the focus. A run to give Robert much more than one outing where Ryo plays the support role.
Actually Ryo has more development than Robert when you consider his transformation into the second Mr. Karate where he decides to show off his karate style but instead just train for selfimprovement. He even changes his moves to use Takuma's as well as more realistic moves in Buriki One. He even keeps exisiting in Maximum Impact 2 as the oldest fighter from the cast who still seeks selfimprovement.

Blame SNK for constantly pushing for Kyo to be the face of SNK for Capcom vs SNK 1/2. It pretty much cemented that because it was the first major crossover between the two companies. They don’t share moveset, aren’t best friends, etc. If anything Terry (and Ryo) are treated more like guests in KOF, because they essentially are. They never have anything to do with the overall plot of any of the games and are really just there to represent Fatal Fury and Art of Fighting.
By the way Terry isn’t just more popular in America, he’s also more popular than Kyo in Japan as well lol. They did a poll back in the late 90’s/early 2000’s in Japan and Terry was the most popular SNK character followed by Geese, Nakoruru, Mai, Athena, and then Kyo.
He's more like Ryu.
U sure zazi not a Darius clone
Make video on how mortal kombat ruined Liu Kang and there is a reason for that Ed boon made him a villain which doesn't make sense even with that stupid bond with Kitana
I think you could have also put Jacky Bryant as another character inspired by the archetype of Ken, a blond American with a fiery temperament and practicing an Asian martial art style with speed and a lot of kicks.
I think the thing that keeps Jacky off this list is that he’s not a rival to the main character nor does he share the main character’s fighting style.
What about Terry Bogard?
Terry is Terry.
If there is a Me-type character in KOF, it would be Iori.
Maybe Andy Bogard fit the bill.

Terry and Andy are more like Cody and Guy from Final Fight.
@@aliiaygun Ken and Terry is a particular case where they ended up resembling each other probably coincidentally at first, but it was recognized by both companies, which is why Ken will be in Terry's game.
I know he is hated by the majority of MK fandom, but Kobra was one of my favourite chars in 3D era MK days. His style was effective, easy to master and use, plays like Ken, and is based on Cobra Kai which is a good martial arts series I like. so he was one of my mains in MKD and MKA. too bad they made him just a generic goon and never used him again afterwards. but on a second thought, i hope they dont bring him back cause MK is Woke-tal Kombat now, so they would probably make him a gender swap bIack Iesb hahah :D
Why are all of these examples male?
Kobra is so not Ken that instead of being a millionaire playboy, he's too poor to even have a proper rival. Instead of getting his own Ryu to measure up against, this guy got washed by a Kano knockoff.
Ryo clone
ryo sakazaki e um clone do ken masters.
Cobra is definitely a ken RIP off
ryo sakazaki copiou ken masters na cara dura com o nome e karate gi rasgado do ryu.
Kombra 🤣🤣🤣
ryo sakazaki e um plagio descarado de ken masters.
CVS2 is trash. Only Capcom fan boys think it's good. It has a terrible roster, broken engine and the SNK characters were nerfed to death to make Capcom ones have a fighting chance.
Are you from souf @thefightersden ? 😂
