Re: Hades- Zagreus isn't *overly* snarky, I think. The first time he faces a boss he treats it with an appropriate level of seriousness. But as you, and he, iterate through it all it becomes more mundane for him to fight a hydra made of bones that spits magma. So he cracks a joke now and then. I think it'd be weird if he didn't, because at some point he'd have an overly serious tone when the player is definitely used to fighting that boss. In fact, I felt at times that Zagreus had a remarkable ability to say exactly what I was thinking in a given moment, and it's emblematic of the care they put into the character writing.

My issue is that ever since the new52, Darkseid has just been a big dumb monster man who steps out of a portal and starts killing people for no reason. In the original Jack Kirby comics, he was an insidious mastermind, subtly working his will on Earth through agents like Intergang, Morgan Edge, and Glorious Godfrey. More KGB than War of the Worlds. And he doesn’t just want to invade/terraform/destroy Earth, he wants to eliminate the concept of free will throughout the universe. A little more heady and imaginative than what we’ve gotten lately.

What you don't do is recast the characters and retell the story the games told. Games are already cinematic and have full motion capture acting. All you're doing is retelling the same story worse while removing the gameplay. If you want to adapt a game make it new characters and an original story set in the game's lore, but they won't because that requires work and creativity and hollywood aint about that.
@@ThreadBomb To be fair, the problem with Alice isn't that she's not from the games. The problem is that she is written as the only competent character in a world full of morons. So you end up with a lot of frustrating moments where characters from the games will show up, act like angry unhelpful idiots, flail around making stupid decisions, try (and fail) to take down a bunch of zombies, and inevitably need Alice to save them and/or kill the zombies all by herself. So I can see why fans of the games weren't too happy with many of the decisions in the movies. Why bother calling it Resident Evil if it barely resembles the source material, and why include characters from the games if they have nothing in common with their game-counterparts except for vaguely similar clothing? I havent played any of the games besides RE4 and the RE2 remake so I'm not some mad fanatic of the series, but even I was annoyed by weird choices in the movies, like making Leon S Kennedy (the games' most popular protagonist) an Umbrella employee who needs to be rescued by Alice multiple times before he dies off-screen at the hands of a random zombie creature because he was dumb enough to trust Albert fucking Wesker. Jeez, its like the makers wanted to piss off fans of the games with how dumb/incompetent/mean/useless they portrayed some of the series most well-liked characters.
Wish they just casted the original Voice Actor for Ezra to play him in live action. Seeing how he would look just like an older version of Ezra which he would be during this time period. I think Zelda would be an easy adaptation. You could make it Tolkien like in the sense that in the Hobbit and LOTR the hero is someone unlikely to be a hero - as in the ordinary small people are those who can defeat evil by their acts of kindness and courage. And that is the piece of triforce Link's got. He is a mute, ordinary, small boy - young teen that is courageous enough to go out there and fight against evil. It is my personal belief that since Zelda as a game is not focused on story, and all of the Zelda games try to be different in different ways it wouldn't stand out if a movie was it's own thing that takes the themes of Zelda franchise like courage, family, friendship, (and unrequited love from Zelda) and use those as stepping stones for a story of a young boy that doesn't seem like the standard prototype of a hero standing up and at the end being worthy of the magical master sword slaying and banishing evil for the next 100 years.

It's characters were also pretty cringe in some spots but it had a much better story that actually endeared me to what was going on. Part 3 just made me want to put my fist through my tv. At one point I literally screamed "Yeah! Moxy! I get it! It's a fucking penis joke!!" And my roommate had to come ask me why I was screaming.
Ted Cruz is absolutely awful, just a real spineless crony to Trump. Honestly Texas and the rest of the U.S. South have been dragging the rest of the country down for god knows how long. I got lucky growing up in the "triangle" of North Carolina, but we're just one bright spot in a horribly backwards state and region. I guess I feel your pain, guys. Also Cruz is a senator, not a governor (that'd be Greg Abbott, who's also godawful).
