    He basically just mastered the art of hanging back, reading the qb, and then essentially becoming the receiver after the ball was thrown. Of course this takes world class speed and athleticism to pull off.

    Deion's baseball acumen helped him with his timing, when getting an int.
    What Deion did often was bait the q.b by slightly trailing, or sagging off the intended receiver then with his knowledge of the play, his timing, and athletism recover.

      He once baited Rocket Ishmael when Dallas played the Raiders.
      The QB overthrew Rocket who had a step or two on Dione & before the ball came down Primetime closed so fast to get in front of Rocket Ismail and it looked like the pass was intended for him.
      Madden talked about that play for a majority of the game after that.
      His speed was crazy.

      Yeah. Jalen is extremely athletic and good. No corner has been as quick twitch as Deion. Jalen honestly isn’t close. He just taller and has a hell of a broad jump.

    Deion was something to behold, He is my top pick for best athlete I've ever seen in my lifetime by far. He was blessed to never have a career ending injury.

    The athleticism and speed he showed in the punt return vs Clemson is simply amazing. He made the everyone else on that field look un-athletic and slow. He was obviously a great athlete, but he was also one of the smartest players to ever play the game. Watch the way he baited QB’s into throwing his way. Awesome!!!

      Right...I am a Canes fan from Ohio, so that Rivalry isn't as important or big to me. Of course when they play it's big to me. But I don't hate the Noles like my family in Florida does Lol. I became a fan after my mom bought me a Hurricanes book bag in 3rd grade. My family in Florida told me the rivalry down there is like Ohio State vs Michigan up here. I miss when college football opened the season with the Canes vs Noles.

    I'd say Bo was the best athelete of his generation but his body did not hold up and he didn't have the longevity. For my $, Prime is the best athelete of his generation, is the best cb ever (not close), and really is one of the most athletic beings in the history of humanity. Glad I'm old enough to have seen this man play in real time. Breath taking. Electric. Legend.

    2:20 Deion with the incredible interception, by a well thrown bomb, over Andre Rison!!
    Andre would later catch a pass and Juke Deion for a TD score. The two battled it out throughout the game. And would then become Teammates in the NFL for Atlanta Falcons...Better known as Primetime/Showtime

    It was amazing how fast he was and how amazing his vision was. One thing that made him great was that he could catch. He was in the qb and best receivers heads before the game even started

    Imma just tell everyone this. The reason we don’t see corners like Deion anymore is because most players with this speed they convert them into receivers. Think about it how many receivers can you name that can run a 4.3 or even a 4.2.bow how many corners can you Ake run a 4.3 or 4.2? Exactly most run 4.4 or 4.5 unlike Deion he was pretty much a receiver his speed was all he needed to get to the ball first 💯.

    Lucky for Deion the ref missed the false start on Melvin Bratton 5:08, the play would have been blown dead.
    These FSU / Miami games were monumental during this era.

    Deion made it all look EASY! That is how great he was. Didn't look like he was running fast but faster than everyone on the field. Great ball skills, as well. Michael Irvine said Deion would have been the greatest receiver of all time if he played the position full-time. Played NFL Football AND then jumped in a plane and played for the Braves?!?! - NOT of this planet!👽

    I live in Oklahoma and they didn't show many FSU games the years Prime played. I feel robbed because I like college football more than the pros. It was the same with Emmit Smith at Florida. What a shame seeing that those schools get much national prime time coverage now.

    i saw him at a AAA baseball game. 1st pitch of the game he hit an inside the park hr in richmond, va. in 1991 or 1992.

    I got a Rookie card of his with a Florida State Uni on… I thought this guy looks so cool with the ‘spear’ on the helmet and Florida State sounds like a cool school…this was 1989. They are still my favorite school today!

      In college, its a 15 yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty to taunt/celebrate. Rules were a lot stricter back then compared to today.
