Great service. But too many voices shouting at the same time. Impossible to hear the commentary.
Fantastic racing, beautiful boats and enjoyable coverage. GREAT FUN!
Love looking at Rangitoto Island the volcano in the background. Auckland, "City of Sails" is my hometown. Love the Kiwis but the Italians are great sailors too Do not underestimate them.
Arohanui tatou!!!
bravo ,grazie dall'Italia
Is it just me or is the broadcaster using stock spectator footage? I think I've seen the same people, with same expressions for about 6 weeks? Why?
It’s like watching Groundhog Day that’s all
You are right they are using the same footage, it's absolutely unfair that they recycle the images from previous days
Are you there for the crowd or the racing ?
I love to watch the PARADA AMERICA'S CUP. I 'll support Peter Burling and all the rest of the Team New Zealand. I know you can do it boys.
Get the bloody pundits v on-board commentary sorted. One or the other, turn one down when the other is on! It’s not bloody rocket science.
The animations showing the boats on the wrong tack are super confusing, seems pretty stupid given the money they are spending on this coverage.
and for the love of sailing Why F@#$ing why cris collinsworth... we don't need color commentating shut up cris.....
It's getting better but the audio is still painful. I don't know what I'm meant to be listening too.
They are carrying audio feeds of the boats, which includes foil/boat noise. On top of the announcers, it gets noisy. Every once in a while you hear the crew say something interesting. Not defending, just explaining
@@jwhoward182 In a sport where the boats cost around a hundred million dollars each you're explaining that the broadcasters can't control audio balance. You're explaining that America's Cup has hired amateurs to do their broadcast
The audio editing on these clips is terrible, I appreciate that they're being made available but there's quite a few moments where the whole thing is just awful noise of crew chatter, commentary and hydraulics. They need to be mixed better.
Great race...thanks for the entertainment...as stressful as it can be...go Team NZ
Great spectator sport! Boat audio add authenticity but please mute them when comentators are talking.
shut them up
They finally got rid of the helicopter background noise.
And replaced it with screeches and crew babble
Stop cutting to the crowd, not here to watch crowds.
I’m here for the crowds
@Ben Dixon No worries Aussie
Was that an attempt at an insult?
ETNZ LOOKS 👀 ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Beautiful Design and Sailed Beautifully along WAITEMATA HARBOUR…KIA KAHA …KIA MANAVA NUI 💪💪👏👏❤❤🎉🎉🍾🥂🍻🍾🥂🍻
Great racing, Team New Zealand were superb. All the right moves.
I'm very new to this so there is a lot of things I don't know yet... can someone explain to me please why when ITA were winning on the 2nd leg (I believe), they kinda let NZL pass them?
They didn't want them to pass. It's because of the wind.
Hmmm. Which speed indicator do I believe? The one at the bottom left, or the one attached to the graphical boat? And you guys have got to decide what units you're using. One says "27.8kt" and the other says "27.3kn".
I mean, COME ON! It's literally like the left hand doesn't know the right hand even exists!
So far as I am aware, "kt" is NOT an accepted abbreviation of knots. That would be "kn".
May I ask how many really lazy people does something like this have to go through, to get on the air?
I noticed the times don't sync up at the start either, which is kind of mind-boggling, as pretty much all computers have the exact same time. And if you have processing time on the live feed, even if it's only 1 second or two, then you need to account for it with a delay timer, and match up the correct data at the right time, and stop fudging it with at least two different system which don't talk to each other, apparently.
Seriously ...just watch the race...
NZ has one great boat. Good in low wind and fast in higher wind.
Other teams don't help out the defender? "Never have"? BS. It happened all the time in the America's Cup. For FS, Aislee joined Spital to help the defender....
Wow, the Italians could not get it up..breeze was not stiff enough, the Kiwis went hard.
Team NZ would learn very little by winning every start and stretching away.
other than they have the fastest boat and theyre doing pretty much everything right
Facciamo vedere chi sono gli italiani paese di naviganti forza 🌛 rossa
Mean Race!! Up team New Zealand
My noise - cancelling headphones are over stressed...AAAAHHHHHHHH
My point exactly. If it continues like this I'll just stop watching.
Would both foils down provide enough lift to break free in light breeze after rounding mark?
Millions of dollars for the boats, pennies for the video crew and editors.
Have some patience. The final product is yet to come.
so :
- animations are awful, just never ever show this again.
- sound is awful, mix between comments & crew, no idea what to listen to
- very poor entertainment as it is so difficult to track the race
Way to drop the ball on otherwise great sailing.
Congratulations again NZ. NZ definitely has the fastest yacht. 95% of all the races, when I look, her speed is higher. From America, good job NZ. Salute.
As your comment was up the top, you just ruined the result for me, thanks a lot
@@TimeAllen Life's tough.

This seems important to watch again :)
Absolutely 👍💯👏👏🎉🎉❤❤
The lack of professionalism displayed in this coverage is staggering, especially in regard to the audio. Let’s hope this problem will be solved for the upcoming events.
That's the real sound of hydraulics, winches, water. What do you want, a Disney soundtrack?
@@christopherrubicam4474 This could be a good opportunity to take advantage of positioning in stereo and/or surround sound. Focus the commentators a little louder in the center, spread the rest a bit more to the sides in stereo for better definition. Use surround (maybe even Dolby Atmos!) to create a better three dimensional experience. This would not be difficult. We had to cancel our trip to attend the race as they sold the house we rented and the airline cancelled flights between Tahiti and New Zealand. Many upgraded their home entertainment systems to 4K HDR TVs 60-75" and bought bigger sound systems. We may as well use the new home theater systems if we can't attend in person. Cheers to everyone sustaining the Americas Cup!
What's the buzzing from the boats???

A new era start now!!!🇮🇹🤟

HELL YEA!!!!!!.
When is the next set of races? I've been checking NBCSN and they show nothing.
Make Luna Rossa great again
Since that's a make believe race, can you just have Jack Sparrow and his pirate ship attack both boats? That would much better entertainment.
Why the F**k does Burling always make it harder for them to catch up by taking those ridiculous tacks and let the opposition pull away?.
Love the American commentary, not one eyed at all.
Not in the least, they are speechless that’s us Brits are still in and can barely comment
Thankfully there all convinced were just lucky and that will run out and will be out
The commentators are a perfect blend.
what's up with the helicopter blowing their wash on prada?! Hopefully just parallax optical illusion but still it looks awfully close
Interesting point. Hadn't noticed that before.....unfair advantage???
The chatter is too much mute when commentators are talking
Forza Italia! All world cups in football, don't mean anything, forza Italia, forza azzurii, this is the big thing
They got me confused ... after all is old races!!! I was looking to the schedule on the web page like #%#$ !!?
Is this an old race? If it is I just wasted over half an hour
@@tomdoyle3615 yep .. you and me wasted 30 min of our precious life’s with something that awkwardly looked to me so familiar ... the penalties etc etc .. 🧐🤨

You can win your textbook start and we'll win our textbook finish lol hmm I know which one I'd prefer
i must come here for all the up to date results
So the main strategy is to hope your opponent falls off their foils, because it takes 10 minutes to get back up. No prestart maneuvers, because if you drop off the foils, you lose. Those catamarans weren’t so bad maybe
Super exciting race!

Wow!!
This coverage is horrible. Lift your game NZ!

Pls help me - why was emirates so late at the start and actually on the wrong side?
Right of way rules and strategy
@@rcpmac yes - thank you, but it seems to me that they were not handling it, they could turned before and they were in "lee" which gave them the right to go upper the wind
-32:40 They go into some detail here in a replay. The wind shifted left, so NZ needed to tack to stay on the foils, and cross the start line. Spittel (Italy) pointed the bow down, so that NZ would have violated their right of away to do that, forcing NZ past the pin. I can't seem to get the time stamp to work but if you go to that section of the video, it's accurate.
@@carlwilliams6977 thank you, it is more complicating then I thought (Lee before Luv and right before left)
I thought I was going to watch a boat race. Somehow I’ve endet up here watching random spectators waving in cameras whenever the race was at its highest tensions. Where can I watch the race next time?
peter burling keeps making mistakes how can we win
Well now it looks like the boats are completely different two months later
today's is not the same Luna Rossa...
When did this race take place? On what dd/mm/yy?
04/01/2021
24/12/2020
Looks like Italians are standing up in back

that was a good race

Commentators, it’s NOT flying. It’s foiling. Flying would be the the entire vessel out out the water and cruising at 1000 feet
New game:
Take a shot every time someone mentions the wind getting lighter.
Note:
You will need a lot of alcohol...
I'm sorry for my comment but I'm sure (whoever wants to) will understand what I mean despite my "eng" language.
LR is 4-0, asking to race as soon as possible (as written and signed rules) and are accused of unsportsmanlike by a bunch of people who are trying to exploit a worldwide pandemic to gain time for improve the performance of their boat? That's true sportsmanship!
All this with the help of a country (NZ) whose boat already has an agreement with INEOS (LR rivals) for the next America's Cup, and let's not forget that Mr Bertelli invested millions and millions of euros to sponsor the Prada Cup in Auckland, despite that is insulted every day by these people (not only him, they are insulting all the italians).
I don't expect anything by the brits but I would never believed that the NZ would lend themselves to this dirty "game" (are they succubus, conniver or are afraid of LR?); what they don't know is that around the world understood what they are trying to do.
I don't care nothing of this sport but if LR win the Prada Cup and the America's Cup, I celebrate like they win the World Cup; what a shame for a country loved by everyone (I'm talking about the kiwis obviously, not the brits).
Tutta fortuna/sfortuna :/
LOSER. ROSSA. Vs. TE. REHUTAI. AOTEAROA.
Nice race.....although it would have been a lot nicer if luna rossa won
It was just bad luck
This came down to better boat design and better team work.
Both teams fell off their foils. The difference was how quickly you could get back on the foils as soon as a bit of breeze came your way.
Andrew Mitchell you can’t decide when a bit of breeze comes your way, obviously it didn’t come as fast for LR as it did for ETNZ.
@@mat2941 they was both in a low pressure but NZ had a better reaction partially because the team took the right decision in the right moment.
@@mat2941 even when they had reached LR and passed them. It too LR at least another 5-10 seconds to get back on their foils.
Like I said. Better design.
What kind of PFD are they wearing? Do they have air tanks on them? Or is that the inflation mouth piece?
All the teams have undergone training to use 'spare air'
This is lawfare NOT a race.
Why is this still going? I thought America Cup was done in December 2020 already. Is this just a replay? Or they couldn’t come up with a better name for the race, so they keep using (air quote) “America Cup”
To get more eyeballs. Eyeballs == revenue.
These are clips from the America's Cup World Series, which occurred mid Decembers. A sort of warm up series to test the new boats. Next is the Prada Cup, starting January 15th, to see who challenges NZ for the Americas cup. Go to AmericasCup.com for all details, as well as all race replays.
I know how to break it. Give them all a timed race. the same course, no other boat with them. Fastest time wins.
This would not work as wind speeds vary one hour to the next. You could have your time slot for your run scuppered because of lack of wind. The matches ensure they compete in equal conditions
@@cococalm obviously I'm not a sailor. Thank you for pointing that out.
Maybe widen the race course and have all boats race against each other.
That would've been a better way. 2 days of fleet racing and on the third day the 2 bottom teams battle it out one on one for 3rd and 4th and 1st and 2nd is the two top teams deciding.
@@mitchand9 too easy then, no more border penalties ......
@@cococalm it is barely an easy feat to sail these boats
OK if the teams can't figure out that they need to deploy an asymmetrical spinnaker to kick start the boats up on to the foils in light air then these races are going to be the luck of the draw and not fun to watch at all. The foiling cats aren't as "sticky" and don't have this problem. Deploy/foil/furl
maybe he il know the most beautifull americas cup ever.
I'm not a sailor but I'm fascinated. Can someone explain to me what the "buzzing sound" is that I hear in the background? I'm guessing its some kind of wind induced vibration?? Thanks
those are the hydraulics.
There is so much background noise in these videos that it's unwatchable. I've tried to look at several and it's the same thing. Screeches and crew conversation that hardly anybody understands overwhelmed the announcers. I've tried every sound setting on my TV set and it's the same thing. I'm so disappointed because I have been looking forward to this. Boats have changed so radically that if you can't hear the announcers you can't understand what's going on.
May be some fine tuning of the hearing aids would help ....... commentary sounds fine on my old flat screen.
@@sticky59 You're a trump supporter and you're going to question me about my listening skills? You've been listening to a pathological liar for years. Look, wise guy, take a stroll down the list of comments and see how many other people make comments about the poor sound. I don't have an old flat screen I have a Samsung Smart TV with 5 different sound settings and a manual setting for I can EQ the sound myself. It doesn't matter because they are all mid-frequency sounds. There are two different sources of sound in this video. One is coming from the boat, the other is coming from the commentators. They are badly mixed. They are poorly balanced. All it would take would be for somebody to turn the source down on the sound from the boat. I don't find any excuse for a billion-dollar Racing industry to be doing amateurish sound on their broadcasting.
Che schifo di montaggio e commenti.
In any competition, the worst thing that can happen to you, is not to come in the last place, is to come in the second place
