Your facial expressions , when you listen to Elvis , make me tear up ... I can see how much you appreciate and understand this very complicated man and have compassion for him. Thank you !
Elvis at stax Dec 73’ as you rightly say is the real Elvis he’s full of his old pomp and vigour. His voice resonates a depth and assurance that is sadly missing in the earlier July sessions. He’s got his mojo back ! he is in a new relationship and he’s picking up the reins of his life again, you can tell he’s far happier. It’s reflected in his command of his voice. If anyone can’t hear the difference then what are they hearing ? To me 73’ is the year of starting to paper over the cracks before the cracks became to severe. He finished the year off as he started it, seemingly in fine fettle but that doesn’t tell the whole story. The intervening months of that year told a different truth. What is remarkable when all the stars aligned and he was physically able he could still pull off greatness and that’s why we love him even more. He was still swinging. The album I think reflects his life at that time, as you rightly say ‘Good, bad but beautiful’….sometimes that’s all we can have and all he could give. Ps honest review mate 👍
I saw him in Milwaukee in 72......I recall the emotion that exploded when he entered the stage..... I’ll never forget it as long as I live.... none of us wanted to leave......” raised on rock” was the theme of those who were raised with Elvis.... great album reviews, fascinating history!! Just wondering, why is Elvis’s birthday not mentioned in the present day?? After all, the goat, icon , beloved, multi talented ( and human) man is still remembered by many!! And “ if I can dream” still applies, especially today... why on earth would anyone criticize you, for the always respective way you present Elvis?? Wednesday can’t come soon enough, and Elvis, we will “ always remember you”. Thank you Scotty! ❤️😊🕺
Some of his most moving love songs on this album tell us how deeply hurt he felt inside...gives me always chills when i'm listening to...Elvis was truly walking through the hell with a smile at that time... Great review dear friend, lots of information, enjoyed it, thankyou tyvm!!!❤🙏✌
Good Time Charlie's Got The Blues...stunning, stunning track! This is a man singing from the heart and telling us how he really feels, how he really is behind all of the glamour, glitz, laughter and goofing around.
From 0.45-1.10 you see swedish superfan, Børje Lundberg, journalist in Expressen, Swedens biggest newspaper at that time. The meeting took place in Vegas in 1973. Lundberg wrote, after seeing Elvis in concert, «you must believe me, I would not trade this night/experience for anything else in my life».
Great video Scotty I love how you stay true to Elvis the medicine was part of his life we can’t avoid the truth but that doesn’t mean we don’t love him. He was the greatest singer and entertainer of all time that doesn’t take anything away from him. He was a human being after all. Keep up the great videos and looking forward to next one.
Hi from England ELVIS always sang with PURE UNADULTERATED RAW PASSION AND EMOTION. Looking back almost 50 years. Just different times and different people. Smartly dressed but WHO were they and how did they get to meet ELVIS? The album cover upside down - would that make it rare? if so megga £'s The songs from Leiber and Stoller were great -DON't and HOUND DOG for the 50's but by the early 70's life and people had "MOVED" on became more worldly wise and learned I agree the GOOD TIMES far OUTWEIGHED THE BAD. -that's life for us all ELVIS would have had to REINVENT again. He said just before the MSG shows in interview about a shortage for everybody of GOOD HARD ROCK SONGS. but we all say WHAT IF OR IF ONLY SO SAD.😭😢💖💔❤👍🙏🎵🎵🎵🌹🌹
Elvis' 70s output in many ways is the most important of his career because it gives us an insight into how he was, how his life was. Listening to them in the intervening years, to me they sound apocryphal.
Dear Scotty It is your Channel and I love watching n read everything you put out. We all love Elvis, the good, the bad, the beautiful but he is still The Greatest to you and to us. You don't have to apologise to be honest. Your intentions are truthful, and we can see and hear the difference. Even the lights had gone a bit from his eyes, but he picked himself up and got back to it. Keep on doing what you are doing. Watching your Channel or anyone elses is a choice I chose to watch yours ALWAYS.♥️👍
Thank you very much for this. I think that he althoug he seems happy, for that date, he was broken in your feelings. He had a great presence to sing and smile how he did
Glad you remembered Tony Joe White 😅 For Ol Times Sake is my favourite song on that album. It's interesting to compare his version with Elvis'. The arrangements are similar but the vocal phrasing is very different. I love Are you Sincere as well, especially the undubbed version on Our Memories. I'm with you when it comes to Three Corn Patches. Definitely file that one under "wish he hadn't done that". Thanks for the review, Scott!
First of all, I love the shirt! The reason why I love your channel is why you are so honest and truthful. None of us can be stellar all the time in our work and that’s what elvis was doing his work. I personally have a passion in what I do for a living and have often wondered why things weren’t so good that I tried to do, be it because I tried to change or stay the same - the result was I failed. When you fail, unfortunately all your cohorts or so called friends are anything but helpful. I see it more today than ever. No individual can be good, profound or walk a straight line always and forever. No matter he was beautiful and his aura will never fade!! Too bad he’s not here. He is sorely missed in the world-but thanking people like you for keeping it so true and beautiful!!
“Sweet Angeline” is one of my favorite Elvis songs! His performance is perfect. Sounds like he could back doing the “Pot Luck” sessions again when no one could come close to matching him vocally! Another brilliant review Scott!
I love this guy he is perfectly zeroed in to a pleasant Elvis zone! Cool pod cast ill be watching this now that I found this strange Elvis vortex of a show, thank you oh strange one who loves or king who+ will just is God like!! T.C.B.
I always enjoy your videos. I’ve always been an Elvis fan since his first recording. I’m 75 live in the USA. When I read the book “ Destined to Die Young” that Sally Hoedel wrote after many years of research , I began to see things in a very different light and the reason why Elvis took drugs. I wish every fan would read this book with an open mind. It really makes more sense why his life ended the way it did. It’s a very good read and is worth purchasing in my humble opinion. Great video y’all always do a great job.
Scotty, your videos are lovely. I could feel your pain as you felt you were being a bit disloyal to the King. Thank you for all you do. Your videos have given me a great insight into an even greater man. Now, off to work with you....😁
Not a great album but For Ol' Times Sake is one of my favourite Elvis tracks of the 70's. I think you are absolutely correct on Elvis' state of health/mind regarding being overmedicated, some of the vocal tracks he seems distant, tired. The divorce and money flow must have been praying heavily on him.
Scotty, I'm late as usual. Been getting ready for a snow or ice storm here. Something very rare in my part of Carolina. This review is superior Scotty. Your passion about Elvis is honest and true. You sugarcoat nothing because that's who you are. You hit the nail on the head every time and don't give a flying fruit loop who likes it ! 🎯 You're passionate about Elvis and it shows in your eyes. The Good..The Bad..and The Beautiful is this journey we call life. Hey Scotty, you already shine but in that shirt, you sparkle and shine. Thanks for all you do, I always learn something new from you. I love this my friend and even though I was late again, I wouldn't have missed it for anything. ⚡❤ ~~Janet in South Carolina U.S.A
Hello from France. like almost all good French people, I don't speak English!! such a shame to understand, so I read the comments to know the subject. I'm not able to judge a song, I react to my feelings. In this album there are many songs that I like with funky rhythms and songs with feelings, Elvis expresses them better than anyone certainly with his experience and his ability to feel them. My favorite is "Mr Songman" for me this "Mr Songman" jukebox is Elvis that we always put coins in for our enjoyment even when he wasn't doing well. It took me a long time to see him as a human and to accept that he reacts as such. But I could never judge the man 'cause who am I for that? If someone asks me why I love Elvis and why I went to him without knowing him, I always answer what Montaigne said about his friendship with La Boétie "because it was him; because it was me" I understood that you love Elvis and respect him, and that's the least we owe him. Here I just wanted to send you a little comment which is finally long long!! thank you for your work, it's a pleasure to try to follow (not easy 😁) your posts.
I have the original R on R album that my late dad purchased for me for my birthday in 1973 . It’s in absolutely mint condition !!!! Dad passed away in 1987 .
Oooh you're in T.R.O.U.B.L.E. Mr....lol. I have opened my copy of Stax Trax(orange/black) vinyl. Wish they'd do this more often...TCB buddy I'd take three corn patches over old shep any day. That's my most dislike song of Elvis' Love the stax sessions. Love today's video as all your video Scott. Should show what the post office does to albums I've sent you. Glad Stax got the fine for you...thanks for the shout-out Scott. Girl Of Mine/Raised On Rock on this LP my favorite tracks.
Thank you Scotty 🤝So much amazing stories, all the way up to the time God wanted Elvis to RIP 🙌🏼With Fan’s like you and most who keep Elvis’s Spirit well Alive ⚡️This is what we highly love and appreciate and the amounts of knowledge you share 😊⚡️❤️Never an ending light on EP 🙌🏼Thank you Scotty ⚡️⚡️ELVIS IS SINGING ABOVE ⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️🤝🙌🏼😇🥰🙏🏼⚡️You can close your eyes and feel the love 💕 THE MAGNITUDE IS MAGNIFICENT 💫⭐️🤝⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️ALWAYS ❤️
Love to hear him laugh. Appreciate the picture of Linda, Lisa Marie and Elvis. Everyone has their opinion and should be respected regardless the opinion. Keep posting Scotty! We all know there was good and bad about Elvis. He was human. So continue giving us your opinion and forget the naysayers!
My top 3 favorite albums. I've been waiting for you to have a show about it. What I like about the 74-77 era, was the actual correlation of the material he was playing and his real life. I hold these songs close to my heart. You're the man Scotty.
Excellent to see you in front of the camera for this review, I too am happy to see anything Elvis released, it shows that there is still interest and that’s a good thing.
Hey Scotty this wearing is very nice liked Elvis did also the song is beautiful all you are interested up load I'm a true Elvis since the fifties from Austria 🇦🇹 Vienna ❤️ 👌 🍀 wish you good luck 2022 🍀 Elvis forever🙏🌹
Great Video! I love the light blue nail suit (not sure that's the name) it's spectacular in my book so anytime I see that one, it makes my day, lol. Really good pictures to go with your wealth of information... thanks Scotty. Hope your back to full health these days. Grace to you and Craig.
This is right after Precilla broke Elvis' heart. I am so glad that Elvis met beautiful Linda Thompson in the summer of 73. She was so good to him in the four years that she was with him. Best of all Lisa Marie loved Linda. She was the one person that Lisa Marie called when Elvis passed away. Lisa Marie didn't call her Mom. Even though Lisa was only nine years old at the time she knew that her Mom was living with another man so Lisa retch out to Linda.
Hey Scotty, great album review on a so-so album, there were a few great tracks on there but Elvis seemed out of it, like he didn't want to sing them or something?? I guess it was the medication, his divorce, and the money problems dragging him down. 50% for Parker, that's unheard of and just plain not right! What a crook! Love the video reviews, keep em coming! Cheers!✌🏼😎✌🏼
Hi Scotty's mate nice you back true great album Raised on rock love all elvis music like have good time on he recording make feel that you in studio with some with him time hearing laughing have good time Scotty's keep up great work look forword to you next video keep play elvis music my friend take care TCB forever
Thought it was very balanced..picked out the good tracks and highlighted the not so good ones.. it’s funny the other 2 songs from the session I’ve Got A Thing About You Baby and Take Good Care Of Her would have helped the album instead were chosen for a single release in 1974
Hey Scotty buddy my dear friend, kinda miss your videos ;) great seeing you , thanks for this review, i ordered this FTD vinyl, but havent got it.....hopefully in a week or two. this album got a special memories for me cause the first time i heard most of those LP songs were on the radio back around 1989-1990....there was a wonderful radio station on a ship in the sea called: The Peace ship - the Voice of peace and they played alot of Elvis records durind the years since they strated from 1973 till 1993 , so i have a soft spot for this album, my favorites are Sweet Angeline, For Ol time sake, i miss you , thanks brother have a good day at work, cheers, your friend: Lior
Elvis was sheer raw talent; a bolt of lightning in the 1950's. He was a meteor like nothing before or since. His vocals were raw genius. After the Army, he perfected his craft. You can select 99% of his songs from 1960-70 and the vocals run the gamut of brilliance from tender and pristine to raw and raspy. Then in 1971 we know his health declined and his vocal performances fluctuated all over the map from weak to brilliant. I think it's pretty clear that his voice peaked from 1960-64.
nice +++Seriously, THREE CORN PATCHES is one of my ALL-Time Favorite Songs of ELVIS , I Love that song , it is the best song from RAISED ON ROCK +++JUST A LITTLE BIT is another Great song , RAISED ON ROCK album I Love the whole ALbum ++++++++
Thank you very much for your reviews..always brilliant. I must admit I am guilty of liking " Three Corn Patches" a lot...🙊 uh oh.....( lol) I am glad you are feeling better...great to see you in your Aloha shirt too...stay safe.
Hi my friend, another great review, I agree not the best of Elvis in the seventies, but any release on FTD is worth a revisit, also looking forward to the new Aloha, with lots more to come in the next year or so! cheers and stay safe mate! YNWA!
Another good one, Scotty! My copy of this LP arrived last Saturday. Your video was much appreciated today, as we’ve been snowed in the last couple of days here in Upstate South Carolina.
Thankyou for all the musical info, some of which i didn't know before. I really enjoy listening to you. I don't have this one, but i do have most of the tracks elsewhere, i agree T C P! Look forward to the next video!!
Thanks as always for the review. Certainly not my favourite Elvis album but I loved the song Raised On Rock and thought it should have been a bigger hit. I also actually like Three Corn Patches. Odd how different fans feel about songs. My favourite track is I Miss You. A beautiful song that I couldn't listen to for some time many years ago after my dear dad died suddenly. I missed him so much. Time though is a great healer. Take care. Hope 2022 is better for us all. I am looking forward to 50th anniversary issues of the Madison Square Garden live album. 😊 👑
I really like the stripped down remixes they're doing lately. To me, Elvis sounds best with just his core rhythm group and minimal, if any, vocal backing.
Hi Scotty and Craig, Lovely to see you back. Doing what you do amazingly. I love 😍 the promised land. I have the Aloah album I love it. Thank you boys stay safe and take care xxx 💝 🤗
@@nancyshank4085 hi Nancy it's lovely 😍 talking to you again. Thank you so much for your kind words they really mean a lot to me. Take care my lovely 😍 and talk to you soon xxx 💝 🤗
Glad to hear other people be honest about some of the output from the 70's, doesn't make you less of a fan. I am critical of quite a lot of the releases from the 70's and it doesn't make you less of a fan. Another enjoyable vid Scotty
Such an honest review - not the most inspiring LP ever but the songs were reasonable when you think of what was going on his in life at that time - nice to listen to and some even to sing-along but none really that outstanding despite the writers of some of the songs - what were outstanding were the pictures they were so beautiful - thanks again for my Elvis fix 🎵🎤🎧🎶
I have always loved Raised On Rock. Like you l have never liked Three Corn Patches, but l like the backing on side C. My original copy is not like yours, l’m quite normal not upside down. I do wish that Elvis had recorded Color My Rainbow. I really like the backing track. I believe that Aloha CD set will be with us in March and not February. Until your next video. Stay safe. Ellie 🎼🎶🎵🕺🏻🙂
Good video Scotty. Funny how all of us Fans have different tastes of songs. I love "Just A Little Bit" and "If You Don't Come Back". And "Girl Of Mine" is one of my all time favorites. It's what makes me like this album. Shows Elvis' power to appeal to so many with his versatility. 👍😊❤️
What a great treat to come back from Holidays and find one of your reviews to watch Scotty I do agree with you regarding this Album For whatever reason Elvis does not seem to have a lot of enthusiasm for this recording session and most of the songs. In fact on one of the takes I think on the recorded at Stax CD Elvis has some unkind words to say about Three Corn Patches at the end of the take . I think even you had trouble Scotty working up enthusiasm for a review of this Album and many lacklustre performances vocally by Elvis and it sounds like Leiber and Stoller were way out of touch by the 70s. I do love the single release though I think both tracks are great and much better material and performances were to follow In December thanks for your review Scotty it is not easy to review such a disappointing album and I’m talking about the original release FTD have done the best they could with this one and I’m sure it’s worth owning as you say for the outtakes on some songs and studio talk . Cheers Carl
I still have this record. I was also disappointed with it. The Raised on Rock single was very good so my hope's for the album were high. After this I started buying the older albums to replace the ones I foolishly threw out. I didn't buy another original album until Moody Blue. Anyway good review and I agree with your assessment. Thanks for your efforts.
..l agree with you, really, with und exception: l like If you don't come back judt because it is different... a bit funky.. sad that he did not record the 2 music Tracks... in general l never ever will understand RCAs strategy of publication.. l think they never ever had a "Master plan"..sadly..
The review of this album raised on rock is a good album but I agree that there were some weak areas, Felton Jarvis did have problems getting him in to lay down some tracks. All in all he was still a great recording artist !
Hi Scotty, thank you for this. I've been an Elvis fan for 50 + years and I too think that this LP was poor by The King's usual standards. As others have pointed out there were some great tracks like Are you Sincere and I miss You. As far as the title track was concerned Elvis was not in good form voice-wise. I totally agree with you about the two Leiber Stoller tracks. The Good Times LP was so much better. TCB.
What a beautiful voice! I listen all the time! No voice like it and no one that can execute and use it like he did!
Your facial expressions , when you listen to Elvis , make me tear up ... I can see how much you appreciate and understand this very complicated man and have compassion for him. Thank you !

We all learn a lot from the ELVIS FAN community who some of these people are meeting ELVIS or being pictured with ELVIS.
The ultimate rocker, he was the first superstar in that genre. Still popular today, it will never end.

Excellent to see you in front of the camera for this review, I too am happy to see anything Elvis released, it shows that there is still interest and that’s a good thing.
Great show
The 73 album is a great album
Love your honesty here Elvis in my opinion was over medicated during these sessions Scotty my favorites are Sweet Angeline and I Miss You.
Thank you for another great video always enjoyable viewing
We need to be honest and sat Elvis could do no wrong haha. Actually I quite like this album. Nice video - thanks :)
Another excellent review, what I’ve heard from the album so far I’ve enjoyed the packaging is first class roll on aloha
Hi Scotty and Craig , Elvis the King Raised on Rock!!!!
Le metamorfosi di elvis .
Very very good!!!!!! Thank you. !!!! You always have wonderful content. 😻😻⚡️⚡️👑🐈⬛🇺🇸
Looks like some quality vintage hi fi there, well done
That shirt is worth commenting on, love it, love it, love it!!
Honest review good information thank you. Sad time for Elvis we all do strange things when upset an pretend we are ok
Hi Scotty's mate nice you back true great album Raised on rock love all elvis music like have good time on he recording make feel that you in studio with some with him time hearing laughing have good time Scotty's keep up great work look forword to you next video keep play elvis music my friend take care TCB forever
I love this album very well done with a variety of. Elvis amazing talent thanks Scotty I enjoy what you say. but don't agree with half of it!! 😄
Thought it was very balanced..picked out the good tracks and highlighted the not so good ones.. it’s funny the other 2 songs from the session I’ve Got A Thing About You Baby and Take Good Care Of Her would have helped the album instead were chosen for a single release in 1974
love his voice
Love your honesty, great show 👏
Elvis was sheer raw talent; a bolt of lightning in the 1950's.
That’s a pretty fair assessment, very very honest appraisal 👍
nice +++Seriously, THREE CORN PATCHES is one of my ALL-Time Favorite Songs of ELVIS , I Love that song , it is the best song from RAISED ON ROCK +++JUST A LITTLE BIT is another Great song , RAISED ON ROCK album I Love the whole ALbum ++++++++
I love your reviews. you're honest good or bad and thats what I like.
Thank you very much for your reviews..always brilliant. I must admit I am guilty of liking
" Three Corn Patches"
a lot...🙊 uh oh.....( lol)
I am glad you are feeling better...great to see you in your Aloha
shirt too...stay safe.
Enjoyed this video as I do all your work Scotty... 💕💕 So interesting. Thanks Scotty!
An honest review and interesting info
Thanks as always for the review. Certainly not my favourite Elvis album but I loved the song Raised On Rock and thought it should have been a bigger hit. I also actually like Three Corn Patches. Odd how different fans feel about songs. My favourite track is I Miss You. A beautiful song that I couldn't listen to for some time many years ago after my dear dad died suddenly. I missed him so much. Time though is a great healer. Take care. Hope 2022 is better for us all. I am looking forward to 50th anniversary issues of the Madison Square Garden live album. 😊 👑
😢🤞❤️❤️🎞🤧 this a rally sad but happy song
Love the album reviews, great to see you back too Scotty 👍
Elvis was definitely coming down from Aloha.
I really like the stripped down remixes they're doing lately. To me, Elvis sounds best with just his core rhythm group and minimal, if any, vocal backing.
Couldn’t agree more😊
Great to see album review back !
Love the shirt Scotty!
Hi Scotty and Craig,

@@nancyshank4085 hi Nancy it's lovely 😍 talking to you again. Thank you so much for your kind words they really mean a lot to me.
Take care my lovely 😍 and talk to you soon xxx 💝 🤗
I've just subscribed to this strange but interesting Elvis cult of a pod ast ! T.C.B.
Great again! Thanks!
Glad to hear other people be honest about some of the output from the 70's, doesn't make you less of a fan. I am critical of quite a lot of the releases from the 70's and it doesn't make you less of a fan. Another enjoyable vid Scotty

Hello,
I'm a new subscriber to your channel. I really am enjoying it! lot's of great info and insight.
Hey Slim you are very welcome here😊
Good job Scotty, keep on rocking ❤️
Such an honest review - not the most inspiring LP ever but the songs were reasonable when you think of what was going on his in life at that time - nice to listen to and some even to sing-along but none really that outstanding despite the writers of some of the songs - what were outstanding were the pictures they were so beautiful - thanks again for my Elvis fix 🎵🎤🎧🎶
It's beautiful.👌👌👌👑🤴😘❤️💋💋
I have always loved Raised On Rock. Like you l have never liked Three Corn Patches, but l like the backing on side C. My original copy is not like yours, l’m quite normal not upside down. I do wish that Elvis had recorded Color My Rainbow. I really like the backing track. I believe that Aloha CD set will be with us in March and not February. Until your next video. Stay safe. Ellie 🎼🎶🎵🕺🏻🙂
Oh ok Eleanor..I saw February..still March is fine with me😊
@@ScottysElvisPresleyMusicChanel By all accounts Graceland say that it will be in March and not in February. So who knows? 🕺🏻
An excellent summary 👍👍👌👌
Great to see back matey great review 👍
Good video Scotty. Funny how all of us Fans have different tastes of songs. I love "Just A Little Bit" and "If You Don't Come Back". And "Girl Of Mine" is one of my all time favorites. It's what makes me like this album. Shows Elvis' power to appeal to so many with his versatility. 👍😊❤️
Oh , i have a Dynaflex Venyl ,, He touched me „ Album.
Gruß aus Hamburg Germany

Cheers Carl
ELVIS 💎💎💎♥️♥️♥️🌋🌋🌋
Excellent! 👍👍👍
His ‘Promised Land’ album was his best Stax album imo
The review of this album raised on rock is a good album but I agree that there were some weak areas, Felton Jarvis did have problems getting him in to lay down some tracks. All in all he was still a great recording artist !
Never in doubt..😊
Hi Scotty, thank you for this. I've been an Elvis fan for 50 + years and I too think that this LP was poor by The King's usual standards. As others have pointed out there were some great tracks like Are you Sincere and I miss You. As far as the title track was concerned Elvis was not in good form voice-wise. I totally agree with you about the two Leiber Stoller tracks. The Good Times LP was so much better. TCB.
I have one album that has the upside down backside cover.
