Hey Mr. Gene! You should do a video of all your prep before you hit the water! Choosing a species and rod and line and gear. Lining up your reel and tieing your lure and hooking up the boat. ALL of it lol. Just an idea
What a perfect way to spend a day. Mr. gene sir, you are the best. Up here in Minnesota on the Mississippi River, folks vertical jig for sauger with a white fluke like that and hold it completely still about a foot off the bottom, then just feel for bottom about every two minutes. It's hard to do after a lifetime of jigging, but it works. Give it a try down in the valley. Separate note: You'd fit in perfectly on the ice fishing scene up here. Saugers, walleyes, pike, crappies, and bluegills.
Richard I always watch your videos. Some I watch several times. Thanks for giving us your fishing knowledge. It is very much appreciated. God bless you and your family
I wanted to thank Richard Gene and Cole and Jay. I was fishing for trout using a 1/16 oz jig head with a bobby garland baby shad. I missed 3 fish and then I remember Richard Gene said bend the hook out a little bit. I made the adjustments and caught the next fish. I tried Cole's way of barely jigging up shaking about 6 inches reel in the slack. Got two enough for dinner. Thank you both.
Always Good, and Thank You your videos! On braid line, an old fishing buddy of mine taught me many years ago to dry your line when you returned home. He had lag bolt hooks between his house and shed for this purpose. Braid line holds the moisture that will rot and destroy it, a little dry line maintaning has been good for the life of braided line for years. God Bless and keep all safe!
Great video Richard love watching your videos and I can say I have definitely learned from them. Keep up the good work and God Bless you and your family 🎣🎣
Thanks Richard LOVE the content, and have tried several of your tricks/suggestions and they have definitely improved my fishing skills, and my catches per trip. Thanks a million. Second to none sir.
Just got a couple tee shirts. Keep up the great videos! By the way, this is just the content I needed. This is my first spring targeting saugeye and we don’t have a dam like the one you have fished in other videos. Can’t wait to try this technique out!!
A great big WOOO for RGTFM!!! Your skills are second to none. I enjoy the verses in the description it always applies to everyday life, one of my favorites is Phillipian 4:13 if you don't know it check into it you'll be for the better folks, God Bless everyone.
I'm getting ready...caught some bass... fixing to hit the crappie here in cedar bluff..it's over 70 degrees here today.. few tagged crappie already been caught..big money still out there.. Leesburg looking nice to..love your videos..long time fan...saw one of the biggest bass ever for Weiss caught last week. Picture and release. See ya bro
Just got back from catching up on a few crappy All I could think about was RGTFM got home with 20 Yes sir...... I have a question for Richard do you sing to your self while fishing
You’ve been a blessing to watch sir, teaching as much as you entertain. Thank you for all of your hard work making these videos. I actually have a serious question that any fisherman in here can feel free to answer: How big of a fish would you trust a loop knot to pull in? Thanks y’all!
Great information! Thank You. In one of your video's you mentioned a rubber lure that you really liked. It was called a Bobbie ????? Can any one tell me what the correct name is and who makes them. Thanks
You got me thinking with that sinking braided line. Going to have to ask Mr. Google who makes it. I am thinking spiderwire but I am going to try it. Great informative video!
Richard I live and fish on Ky. Lake and chase Sauger Nov. - March. Looked to me that was female still holding her eggs. Now you know better but I would like your opinion on that catch. What is she/he doing in there?? do you think goona spawn in that deep hole or already have in river and headed back up creek?? Please tell me they haven't laid yet . Because all the water ya'll sent us river has been foot over flood stage and way to swift to try and catch em.
Those are some of the toughest condition's to catch fish under , I tried Sunday afternoon and blanked ,I could see fish but they wasn't having anything I threw at em or how I retrieved it , maybe tommrow will produce some fish
THIS VIDEO REMINDS ME OF WHEN I'D TAKE OUT MY OLD 64 DESOTO 12" JON BOAT WITH MINNKOTA TROLLING MOTOR,IN JANUARY, BREAKIN CLEAR ICE ALL OVER THOSE LAKES. MY WIFE AND FRIENDS WOULD SAY I WAS CRAZY FOR GETTING OUT THERE IN THOSE CONDITIONS, BUT I ALWAYS SAID THAT I WORK OUT IN THIS WEATHER I OUGHT TO HAVE SOME FUN IN IT TOO! YOU WOULDN'T BELIEVE THE CRAPPIE YOU CAN GET ON AT THAT TIME OF YEAR..IF YOU FIND EM!
Got the boat ready and I'm going in the morning. Just retired, got a boat and gonna try to wear it out before I crap out.
Good luck and congratulations on the retirement.
