I often visit with an Alzheimer patient in the nursing home. Someone gave her a Joy for All kitty. It has made a significant difference to this woman, who has no one. The cat is very real to her. She now has someone to love, to care for, and to keep her company. Sure, it's expensive - but to the recipient it is priceless!
I'm 22 and for the past 15 years, my senior dog has been my best friend, my strength, purpose, healer and my heart. I'm so terrified of losing her, I literally don't know what I'm going to do or how I would begin to process and heal from saying goodbye. I do have a Lu Lu from when I was a kid and was curious if I could start playing with her again, so when the time comes, perhaps this "real" cat could help. Also, I probably won't have another dog until I've graduated, gotten a career, a house and money saved up, so it may be a few years before I can have another animal companion and I really hope I won't be judged for getting emotionally attached to a toy. I do plan on finding a volunteer job at my local dog rescue so I would also have that in place to help me. I was mostly curious how Lu Lu, who I intend to use for therapeutic purposes, compares to the Joy for All, so thanks!
Recently a pt at my mother's Nursing Home got a Joy for All. My mom loves it so she is getting one this month for her birthday. She has been there for almost 4 yrs and has missed having a cat so this is great!!
Very tempted to buy one of these if I need to move and can't take my cats. First time living and sleeping in nearly 30 years with out a cat sleeping by my head and purring my ear is literally killing me. 😭 These won't take the place over my babies, but the joy for all does have a pretty realistic purr!
My mom lost her companion Mitzi a miniature schnauzer. She has been with Mom for 16 years. Surrving my sister's passing with cancer. Then my dad's passing. Now alone Mitzi too is now gone, this past 5 weeks now. Purchased a used JoyForAll off eBay. Mom loves her. Still Missing her Mitzi. But her JoyForAll cat helps some. I got one myself. Two cost less used than one new one. Great purchase. Still want a real cat. Can't right now.
That joy for all cat would really help m- *Charles jumps on my lap* WHO'S A CUTE LITTLE SCRUNCHY FACED CINNAMON KITTY YOU ARE YOU ARE MY LITTLE CHARLIE! Umm, what were we talking about again?
As a blind person I can't see the looks of these 2 cats; however, I can honestly say that the joy for all cat has a more realistic purr than the other one that sounds more like a horse when purring. I wish the joy for all cat had a more realistic meow. Can you actually feel the joy for all cat purr when it makes the sound?
Yes, you can feel the vibrations when a cat purrs with the joy for all. I am also blind, and miss my forever kitty Annabelle, she left her fur suit about five years ago. We have other cats, but I just haven’t found the same kind of connection. I think one of these might do it. Did you get your kitty? I agree, if they wanted to sound more realistic, record some real meows.
I am used to kind of loud motor noise in my robots and it personally doesn't bother me in the case of the Joy for All/LuLu (though they are a bit loud when rolling over on their backs). They do have hard plastic frames inside their bodies, so they are hard and not plush.
Ok cool thanks for lettin me know I was in 2 minds whether my cat storm might be scared or if I could get cuddles which she hates to give from the mechanical cats I guess in the future we will get all walking talking robot cats can't wait 😼
I want a robotic therapy cat that is super soft to pet and cuddle, and purrs/vibrates, I'm not fussed about any other features - Anyone recommend the best kitty out thete for me??
I just bought the cat on the right, the brown and white at Value Village today. I can't seem to figure out how to open it, I see no latch, only a screw, do I need unscrew this? I wouldn't think so. Your help would be greatly appreciated, thank you. It needs batteries. could you make a video for me to show how to open it? I am afraid to break the plastic.
The cat on the right is LuLu from the Furreal Friends line. There should be a velcro flap under the cat and once you open this, you will have to unscrew the battery compartment to open it. It should take C batteries!
I just got a Joy For All, since I can't have real pets, and I love the purr, but the robotic sounds and movements are so distracting and fake (don't get me started on the fake Meow--mine sounds like a girl saying "MEOW.") I wish I could just have it purr. I haven't decided whether to return it. What really bothers me is that yes, the fur is very soft, but I've heard that these fake pets (made in China, for the most part) actually have REAL fur, since in China it is often cheaper to use real fur from a deceased animal that it is to manufacture it.
@@trelayna Yes, but unfortunately when on the "Mute" setting, it also lurches around, and the mechanical noises are very loud. I think it's supposed to look like it's cleaning itself, but depending on the way it's balanced, it will sometimes topple over when this happens.
I have a lulu- unfortunately shes been roughed up from age- both being loved by me and several other owners, she can no longer roll over (can lift her paw still) and her face and ears are pretty stiff- her state makes me sad but i love her espc since she was a gift. Gotta admit tho- her fur SUCKS.
Who else is here from Macdoesit's channel trying to figure out what Lulu was supposed to do? 😂
me
Yeah lol
Yup robot friends was just a trend I still have spiderman robo sapian , and a robot dinosaur lost the baby tho
Me xd

I notice the joy for all, has more fluid movement in the mechanics where a lulu is more clicky and clanky
they're the same, some have more mechanical motors sound.

Nice Job evaluating the two cats. Thank you for sharing your findings.
still holding out hope for the teddy bear from AI - now THAT was a robot companion

Why did Hasbro choose such an unrealistic meow for the one intended for therapy? That's just silly.
@@Ninten110dogs I'm quite deaf but I can hear my cat just fine. For me the meowing is a deal breaker.
The meow doesn't bother me, nor anyone at the nursing home where its owner is in Memory Care. She loves this cat and often thinks it's real.

I love those robotics sounds that Lulu makes - w-💖
Thanks for posting this useful and interesting video, it helped me to decide.
i saw a lu lu at a flea market i mistaked it for it if it was the joy for all cat i would take it on the spot

How did you type this if you’re blind?
@Elijah Meadors I wanna know how he read Hearth keeper's message😮🙀
QVC lied they do sound mechanical which ruins the pretence of then feeling real and also do they feel real as in their bodies like are they hard

stormy kings honestly marscat is 700$ and robotic. I mean, that’s only the price for now..
@@tiny7487 this is true

Mechanics are the same, but i noticed that some Joy for All cats have the same clunky sound as Lulu when they move their ears. Yours is very quiet.
I have lulu in the same fur colouring but I havent had batteries in mine for years
Hh im back here after 3 years
I think there’s a mix up of which one’s which at first.
I am glad you made this video. THe husband of the dementia victim could not
Find the switch.! What can I send him?
I had Lulu when I was a kid!

the Joy for All pup doesn't move except for the tail and head, but motors are less noisy than the cat version.
Update: Charlie died. 😔
Kuro Katamari I am so sorry, hope you are alright!
That is so sad Kuro.. I hope he had a good, long life. ❤️
i like lulu more.
so hasbro created and sells joy for all therapy animals? it’s not some random company that makes them?

Not robots. Animatronic cats, battery operated toys... these don't meet the common accepted definition of a robot in any way.
THEY ARE NOT F**KING TOYS!!!
Okay
@@coopergaming954 well it can be used as one, this can also be used for people who can't get actual pets in their house. Not just for therapy.
Washing close my gosh give me a prescription could be delayed to be alone

Search it up, I think it cost 150 or 159, idk though
Where can I buy one
Ebay for lulu and amazon for joy for all
they dezereve all the trofy
Cost please
The Joy For All costs $109
Lulu costs 20, at the cheapest and 200 as the most expensive, mostly cheaper than the joy for all.

is it still confusing for you? perhaps a robot cat WOULD be a good companion in this instance.
