Mitoma created so many good chances, playing many good crosses. It’s just the other players not finishing off. Otherwise, he would’ve got much more assists than what he has now
Mitoma has been creating chances after chances for Welbeck every match. He skins every opponent and puts a delish cross to the box. Mitoma would've had a dozen assist if Welbz can finish. Mitoma is in pots.
Adingra has all the potential to be very very good, but never seems to convince me that he’s ready. I think that with how Igor has played makes us think less of Dunk. It’s okay to have 3 very good center backs!!!!
I like adringra. I just think that he should be one the left wing instead of the right. I feel like he is worse on the right. He's a beast on the left tho.
I think Adingra is incredible but he's just really not that good on the right. Plus, he sits way deeper than Mitoma does so he almost feels like a wing back at times
I think Adingra is so tiny that he’s lacking the physical side that premier league absolutely demands. Also, as a winger, you would expect him to be good at one on one and putting a good cross into the box, but he just constantly gives away possession and lost control of the ball. You can see a clear difference when you see Mitoma and Adingra play on their preferred left wing. Mitoma is still a far better one in terms of the skills and ball control, while Adingra looks messy on the ball control at times.
I think Cam Peupion is actually an amazing player. He's got 6 goal contributions in his 6 games so far, and he's so so so good for the U21s. I think if he gets some game time (i'm not sure where, though) he'll be another Gyokeres (but on the wing)
I really like Peupion. My worry is that the club have been pretty ruthless with moving on academy players in recent seasons. Since we have such attacking depth already, I feel like he will be sold this summer...
For Joao Pedro, it’s weird, caz I think he’s saved us in some big moments. But he’s not a natural striker, most of his goals actually came from the rebound and header, and of course penalties. But when you look at the chances that he should’ve scored like the 1v1 opportunity in the man city game, he completely messed it up, not even being able to get it on target which Timo Werner is able to do at least. So I think even though he has saved us in multiple occasions, I still think his shooting ability is lacking. He’s more like a number 10 than number 9 to me
Pedro had 9 big chance missed last season and just 1 in 24/24 by Premier League official site. To contextualize, this season Watkins (11), Haaland (10), DCL (7), Solanke (7), Isak (5), Jackson (5) area leading chances missed for strikers. Look for his goal conversion rate (37.5) compared to others and you'll be surprised how high he is. "he’s not a natural striker, most of his goals actually came from the rebound and header, and of course penalties". You just described most of the goals of the #9s that I mentioned above but that for Pedro is a flaw? C´mon, man. He's just a rare #9 these days who is a complete. Take the opportunity to enjoy him on the team while you can. Btw, this is one of the evils that Guardiolism has done to football. This generation thinks that only the ones who are stuck between the defenders are real #9s. The best #9 of all time, Ronaldo (plus E´too, Adriano, MVB, Sheva, Suarez, etc) moved around the field precisely like João, but today they would be called #10 or winger...
@ It’s not just about the conversion rate, it’s more about the quality of shots which cannot always be reflected on stats. Of course, every striker would miss chances. The thing is when you compare Pedro with other strikers, he just misses the chances that other strikers won’t do as much. I have seen him quite a few times on 1v1 situations in this season and last season, he’s never scored that. Not only did he not score, the quality of shots wasn’t there. Of course, other strikers also score on the rebound and header, but it seems like these are the only type of goals he could score. It’s very rare to see him score a ‘proper goal’, the last minute goal against Marseille was one of them, but it’s very rare. For example, the goal that Rutter scored against spurs when he was cool under pressure and smashed into bottom right corner, I never see Pedro scoring that kind of goal. Maybe I’m being harsh on him, but his shooting ability is not as good as other strikers in the team like Welbeck and Rutter, he’s more like a no. 10 than a no. 9
@@aespactzen880 Are you in doubt that it was harsh? ahahah. You said in the initial post that Timo Werner is a better finisher. You clearly don´t watch Werner a lot 😂 Jokes aside, while I disagree with people using G/A to qualify whos a better player because there´re too many variables, "conversion rate + numbers of big chances missed" for a striker is spot on about the quality of his finishing. If he had as little quality as you say, he would be like Werner, as no bad finisher can scape this combo. The game doesn't lie. So. lets agree to disagree here and the time will tell who ´s right👍 Imo if Joao can be criticized as #9 , it is for not stepping into the box all the time to finish (he used to do this in Brazil when he came up to Fluminense 1st team but forgot how to do it at Watford where he was pushed back as #10 and even #8). He himself has said in more than one ocasion that Milner demands this of him all the time. And changing this habit will dictate his career as #9 Plus, despite being very unselfish and a team player, he will have to make a decision soon and focus on 1 position to make the leap. And I am happy that Brighton bought a lot of wingers/#10s and before the injury, Huzeler showed that he will use him as a 9 to finish games
@@caradejegue You misinterpreted my point on the fact that Timo Werner is a better finisher. What I was saying is that he at least managed to put the shot on target in 1v1 situation, even though his shot quality is nowhere near great. While for Pedro, he couldn’t even put a shot on target most of the time in 1v1, let alone scoring it. Maybe my expectations are too high on him, but I can definitely say that Welbeck’s and Rutter’s shot quality are far better than Pedro. Would hope to see Pedro score more proper goals to prove me wrong, but from what I’ve seen so far, most of his goals came from header and rebound, as well as taking advantage of the scrappy situations like what he did in the man city game. Those were not proper goals for me.
@@aespactzen880 You keep using the City game example (in which he was even thrown off balance by a small push from Walker when he was about to shot the ball) as the basis for your argument. One single example of the only big chance missed this season. Now you came with this "proper goal" tangent that is not used anywhere in football. First time I´m seeing this tbh and I worked in the area in the past That said, since you can debate as a normal person (a rare thing) I will bite one last time with more of the same date: Out of these 3 players how can you say Pedro has the worst finishing quality? - Rutter (10 Appearances, 2 goals and 3 big chances missed with 19% Shooting accuracy); - Wellbeck (11 Appearances, 6 goals, 4 big chances missed with 39% shooting accuracy); - João Pedro (5 Appearances, 3 goals; 1 big chances missed with 50% shooting accuracy); And if I use the conversion rating, Danny Welbec (19.4); J. Pedro (37.5); Georginio Rutter (11.11%), this argument is left without a single basis of support. It's like trying to argue that 4 + 4 doesn't equal 5. Just to finish: to say at this point of the season that you expected more from a YOUNG player coming from the Championship who scored 20 goals last season (playing 3 positions) and is now with 3 (important) goals in 5 games (2 off the bench) without even taking a single penalty is a HELL of expectation. He will never meet yours 😂 Thanks for the cordial debate, but now with this EPL date I rest my case. Imo argue based on subjectivities is a waste of time. @SeagullsCentral to be fair, there are a ton of japanese Brighton supporters. I feel like their online presence is larger than ours. It's the mitoma effect.
