I believe that by doing this cover of “Shiny Happy People,” Micky is proving that one is never too old to try something new. I’ve seen him perform 9X with Davy and Peter. It’s also great that he’s keeping the Monkees music alive!

Part of the man's gift that he could turn this song (one of the most villified in REM's canon) and turn it into a lost track that could have been on Pisces, Aquarius, Dolenz and Jones. Excellent work - REM is in the Hall of Fame and the Monkees belong there, too.
