Hidden camera found in BC Airbnb bathroom prompts warning for renters

A group of women is warning others to check their rental homes after they said they found a hidden camera in the bathroom of their Airbnb.
Vancouver resident Jamie Gladman booked a place on the Sunshine Coast in March for her 30th birthday and she needed a place that could accommodate a large group.
“It had about 15 (reviews), but it was really good ratings,” she told Global News. “So I just figured it’s a newer place, but like it has good reviews, good ratings. It looked nice, so I booked it and was quick to correspond with the host, so (I) didn’t see any issues.”
On the second night, Kennedy Calwell, who made a TikTok video of the incident, said they discovered a hidden camera in the bathroom, facing the shower.

So it ended up being false and the guests were found to have lied and they should all be charged for mischief. The Host lost her bookings for two months while it was investigated.
The girls need to be sued for the lost revenue
Y’all should pull this video down or put a massive disclaimer at the beginning of it stating that there were no cameras found. These social mobs do damage to people who are innocent and you’re promoting it just to get clicks

Do you know how a GFCI works?
The best way to deal with this is to IDENTIFY the person as PUBLICLY as possible and ensure that the rest of the community is aware of a predator in their midst.. likely a more than sexually motivated individual with real problem that is a risk to the community
how do you know if it's the landlord or property manager? pretty sure that's just asking for a lawsuit.
Or how do you know that they did not add this themselves for clout? lol It's not unheard of.

@@JJJohnson441 all hidden cameras are directly linked to to a wifi signal or computer.. such can easily be traced to its source through the IP address recipient and computer.. often these are as well directly sent to a persons phone number and can be traced as well..though they are not free a private investigator is quite useful in these matters given the nature of they do that too. Because of my work I utilize hidden cameras and covert communication devices in my vehicle and other means of obtaining evidence to support the investigations I'm requested to assist in time to time..I use the camera systems to watch my own back as much as to obtain the evidence I'm requested to pursue.. I cannot recommend anyone in particular, but your lawyer should be able to..the phone signal and IP address recipient etc has to go through a registered and already payed for Telus, Rogers landline to get out. Anyone can install a camera at anytime near anywhere.. only one person can be found as having PAID (the paper trail) to receive the video link. That's the one you want.. it's additionally possible it's a part of an ongoing website and their "page" they use as income source by SELLING the pictures and videos.. it would be very likely there was more than just that one camera. The person would want to be filming any potential sexual activity in the bedrooms and living room as well and I would be surprised if they hadn't. Always be aware. To help in assistance if costs I would try to obtain a list of all previous renters and share an investigation expense.

Where's the proof? I didn't see any hidden camera, just light reflecting from the back of the receptacle.
If a camera is in there, you see the reflection from the lens. If no camera.....its just a flat black hole. (You can see a reflection in the bottom portal)
@@susancannon6379 I'm not saying that it's impossible, they do sell outlets with built in hidden cameras after all; but it just so happens that I was able to take a photo of the outlet in my bathroom, and caught a reflection of a circular image at the back of the ground port. I know it's not a camera though, because I installed the outlet myself. What I will say though, is that when the media has been known to lie, and the police aren't available for comment, I personally require more evidence than a bathroom full of girls making a tik-tok video.

Yep, it’s in their fine print, found one in the wall hanging that went to the mirror that was across from the bed. I took the wall hanging down and the red light in the mirror went away at night
This person needs to be locked up. What if that was a child? Doesnt change the fact that they are a sick human being. The account shouldnt be suspended it should be put on blast and let the public know who this is. There are other victims clearly!!! And thoes victims deserve to take action against this person as well. These girls shouls make it public where they stayed because who knows what else this sick person was able to watch for the entire time they never got caught. This person needs to be put behind barsA
