Now, I am in +3 1st year and my parents say that by this time you should do courses and many other things. And I am very confused what to do what not to(before my MBA, hope you get my point) . And you are the only whose videos help me a lot. So could you make a video that what should an under graduate should do so that it would be beneficial to him/her. And I think this is also a major problem for all the students who are in this group of UGs.
By +3 1st year you mean in first year of your under-graduation . If that is the case , 3 years ago i had been in the same situation wherein at the back of my mind i knew that i will persue MBA give CAT exam had a blurr idea that something like this i might have to give in future 2-3 years but unaware(not having taken bold steps towards it) of the things to do and what all can be done best to get into a best b-school because of which now I being in my 3rd year of my Engineering and would be giving CAT 2022 and regret my last 2-3 years where i could've done my preparation and other things required for CAT happily, now i have college backlogs to clear, projects to work on, college exams, college placement preparation then take out time to prepare for CAT. Maybe you should've told your course, BBA or B.Com or B.Tech or any other. If your course is B.tech and knowing that you're a male, if you're from a decent college, you have to put in the hard yards earlier. Check on youtube itself what advantages you have according to your course(advantages as in, the requried percentile for engineering and non-engineering candidates is different as IIM's look to take in more diverse profiles, the preparation remains the same for both) . Be it engineer or non-engineer during your first 1-2 yrs. of your college (i would tell the thing which could've given me good boost now)(but couldn't cause of 2-3 hours of transportation time during my first year and then during the lockdown having gotten the laptop a bit late in the middle of my 2nd year and even after having the laptop, a mixture of emotions of neglect, procrasting and many other because of which I currently don't stand ahead before the CAT preparation, which you can choose to avoid for yourself and you can stand a bit ahead even before your CAT preparation) you can choose to make your profile/portfolio/resume (whatever you call it) strong by getting involved in either activities or your interest (like sports, dance, cultural activities or other things) or study the required skills to get internships in the field you currently are (It'll help you in your field before job and even if you will do MBA, trust me when i say this, it is not that tough to get internships(if you felt its a bit tough to get) in your field of choice. All you require is discipline and 1-2 months to learn and practise and know the skill which will get you through on linkedin or other platforms). You may even take part in NGO's as a social servant to the society. later when either when you're in your final year or penultimate year of ur graduation course (depending on when you want to start your CAT preparation, on how much you think will be the time required for you to do it, usually people start preparations 6 months prior to CAT of that year, (Shweta didi started it around the second year of her B.Com cause she wanted to get a strong grip on quants to compete with the IIT'ians in quant) (I too thought to start around that time only cause on bit research i knew I'm not strong in verbal, but i didn't know Shweta didi that time, she had her channel as non-engineers so i was searching a bit for whom to find someone like Shweta didi for engineers but even after she changed her channel name and i watched other channels, but again because of my own not taking of steps from last year's august (where i even approached a senior from my college who got into IIM Shillong on insta who has ignored my message since then and hasn't replied and a few others as well the same thing happened) then not being confident to start on new year, then Feb, then March thinking that whether I'd manage my profile and studies and placement preparation cause i have some transportation time and also that being a day scholar and eventaully ended up doing nothing even after having so many high aspirations from myself. I would suggest the only thing which you may choose to have in your mind is that, it is manageable to do these things, all you need to do is focus on one thing at a time whatever you're doing and not be in a FOMO , focus on it with a bit discipline for 2-3 months and automatically things will fall in place. Cause at the end of the day you are the one who has taken the dreams and you are the one who has to take the steps and so you are the one who has to take the sacrifices to stand-out from the crowd cause you have to walk on your own journey, (this is said by sir from 'Elites grid' channel said in his April CAT preparation video and i kind of resonated it with it a bit, I told this was told by him cause I surely wouldn't have trusted a random stranger fully or partially giving such a big answer to the question who says that he hasn't been able to make it to what he committed. but just cause i assumed that you are in your first year of your course and at that time you do have time to read such a thing, cause usually youtubers who are into CAT guidance don't make a video for someone who is going to give CAT after 2-3 years. They make for the current year and next year usually. (Shweta didi has also made a video for those who are preparing for next year, you may check that out, (Ya, i have almost seen all of the videos of the channel).( I never comment on anything, rarely i have commented, but just cause i saw this comment, i replied. You may choose to ignore)

You get to know about the fields either by talking to your seniors after joining a Bschool or by doing an internship prior to MBA. For that, you should make use of LinkedIn. There's a video on the channel in this regard too.

Mam, I am in B.COM Final year. I scored 91% in 10th and 89 in 12th class. Our 3rd,4th and 5th semester exams were conducted by online mode due to covid. In these exams everyone scored 90+. I am worried how online exams will affect my selection process in Top IIM. Will theses Graduation Marks matter in IIM selection process. Mam please reply.

If you have good acad marks in grad there's nothing to worry. Also, most Bschools scrapped grad marks last year due to this reason. May happen this year too

Hi Shweta, as the placements for FABM and PGP takes place separately at IIM A, so does these big FMCG brands like ITC, Marico, Nestle, Mondelez take students from FABM as well, and if yes then is there a difference in roles and salaries offered by the same company for FABM and PGP

Every video has a consensus that yes, it is because of the average package and ROI. However, the B-school experience is much more than that, so please explain the differences in the after-effects of an MBA from IIT and IIM with respect to the alumni network, job opportunities, social status etc.

No this won't be a problem for you as scoring 90 in grad would be an advantage for you plus not everyone end up scoring 99%ile in cat

I'd recommend using the free videos online for VARC there's really not much to it that you'd need another coaching.

Please answer my question - i have two year drop bcoz i was preparing for clat and ipmat 5 yr integrated ..can i join a decent college for 5 year bba llb and simultaneously prepare for CAT in those 5 year and give cat at the age of 25 (I'm 19 rn) if i score 99 + will i be able to crack the interview??
You can surely do that but why opt for a 5 year course then?

Hi Shweta, thanks for this insightful video. I have converted a few b school calls this year, but I am having some apprehensions regarding my average profile. Are there any students who dont get shortlisted for any company or who cant secure a good enough internship / final placement, purely because of the lack of extra curriculars/PORs?
This doesn't happen, in summers you may not land a good offer but you can surely change the case in finals
