      It's almost impossible to destroy gold. It doesn't need a capsule to last a few generations. You could dig a hole and bury it raw and it would be exactly the same as the day you buried it 100 years later. It's one of the most durable metals

    i always buy the capsules before the coins, might as well buy them in the hundreds so pretty cheap then have incentive to get filling them, plus when it comes to sell they will see you looked after them, make the premium look more worth it! plus the small box they come in can then store your 100 coins and be hidden nicely from the russians!

  • @HifiCentret
    @HifiCentret 2 года назад +3

    Of course you need capsules. I'll even put 21.6 K in capsules. The gold isn't devaluated because of the scrathes but you'll gain less premium or you discount will be higher when selling - in other words the dollar you spend on a capsule is easily rewarded the day you sell the coin. Everyone prefer a nice coin over a scratched one so to repeat what others say: It's a no brainer.
    Should you be in a situation where space counts - well you can always get rid of the capsules but you can't get rid of scrathes and dings.

    No capsules for me. They're not numismatic coins, they're bullion. I can say from experience, at least as far AGEs go, that handling them without capsules for YEARS will not leave ANY visible marks on them. And even if you intentionally scratch them up with visible marks (I can't imagine how you'd do so inadvertently, it would have to be intentional to actually succeed in this), you'll still get the melt value for them if you sell. You might lose $25 on the premium. For 99.99% of people, there won't be any visible marks on them with normal handling without capsules. I say, enjoy the bullion and don't fall prey to the silly idea that keeping your bullion coins in capsules will somehow benefit you financially in the long run. Capsules are for numismatic coins only, in my opinion.

    To answer your somewhat silly question…YES YES YES!!! Protect and preserve your wealth, and spend the $1 to $1.50 for an individual capsule. Adding $10 to $20 to protect several Gold coins that could be valued at $10,000 to $20,000 or more, will certainly not affect your cost average per ounce by much.

      True but set a special coin or bar aside just for that purpose, gold that has a perfect shine to it shows when you go to sell that they are highly prized and are worth a bit higher premium. Silver, try to keep your silver sealed away from the air, sulfur in the air will attack silver and oxidize the surface there are other elements that react to silver but sulfur is amazing how fast it reacts

    "Do You Need Capsules For Gold Coins?" No! Only for ''Numismatic and Collectables'', otherwise get ''tubes''!

      Anything vaulted (away from my grubby hands) is stored in Mint tubes. The rest is armored!😄

    What do you mean my brother? Pure Gold dents and scratches easy.???? In contrast, gold atoms slide past each other relatively easily, which makes the metal soft and malleable. Gold is so soft, in fact, that one gram of it can be beaten into a sheet covering nearly a square metre. Such sheets are used in the process of 'gilding'.
