    the name is ALPARGATAS. please investigate the history of that shoes

      The Catalan call them espardenya,
      the Spanish call them alpargata (or sometimes esparteña & which comes from the Catalan word which in turn gets itself from the esparto grass originally used),
      the French call them espadrille (which originated in the Occitan language before migrating to French & which is then pronounced by English speakers phonetically due to loan word anglicization/anglicism),
      the basque call them espartina…
