The backstory actually sounds like Maxwell and his dad from Freak the Mighty. Literally, I read it in 5th grade. About the same things happened in the story, how Kenneth Kane (his dad) killed Ann (the mom), how Kenneth kidnapped Maxwell, etc. Grateful that it wasn’t a sicko relationship.😮💨

Alli (the father) is obsessed with his child/loves him so much, so he didn't want his wife to hurt their son like that anymore and killed his wife. He went to prison but escaped, wanted to be with his son, so he kidnapped him 'cause he was on the run. Cleo didn't trust the father after he killed his mother and was worried that Alli would kill him too.

I made my own version of this. Their relativly the same age, opposite genders. The kidnapper (f, name Cleo) has long blonde hair, victim, (m, name Ali) has long black hair. Cleo kidnapped Ali because she was too shy to admit her feelings to him, because he was famous and was probably in love with someone else.
