You need to watch this video which is a side by side comparison with Journey’s original to see how they paid homage. Then there are other Easter eggs like Tamu playing with traditional grip, which isn’t usual for her. ruclips.net/video/mq5b5-e9Ico/видео.html
I laughed so hard when I saw this Nemophila video. The Journey music video came out in 1983 when MTV was fairly new and college kids like me watched it constantly. I didn't realize how much the Journey mv had been etched in my brain until I saw this video. After almost 40 years, I knew from the very first shot what Nemophila was doing in their video. They put quite a bit of effort in not only covering the song but the original video. I particularly enjoyed Tamu sporting the Steve Smith mustache.
I didn't watch MTV but I knew they were recreating the original video. It was so 80s. Also isn't that mustache part of her KISS makeup? Did they shoot those the same day?
@@Dragon-Believer The KISS cover was their Halloween upload back in 2020 and Tamu had the Peter Criss cat makeup with the iconic whiskers painted on. This Journey cover was uploaded earlier this year so they were shot over a year apart. Different mustaches but Tamu seems to have a thing for whiskers 😀
@@Dragon-Believer - If you remember. With the Kiss Cover. They were all in the same rehearsal room. With the Journey cover. They were is separate areas due to the pandemic. My thought was that the Journey cover was done right before their one man show (no opening act) last January. And Tamu was in the Rehearsal room to practice on the big drum kit. Not the electronic one in her closet. Might as well video her portion on this drum set.
As for this cover of NEMOPHILA's Journey / Separate Ways, it shows how much respect the girls have for the original. They recreate the original music video. Walking in front of and behind the vocalist Mayu is her husband, who also plays an important role. You can see it in this video, along with the original. ruclips.net/video/mq5b5-e9Ico/видео.html
Considering that the original is almost twice as old as the ladies themselves, I think it is worthy of all honor that they pay respect not only to the music but also to the original artists in such a humorous and precise way. Actually, the entire catalog of covers by Nemo deserves to be released as a compilation, imho. :) Another brilliant for sure is 'Kurenai', which is originally from 'X Japan'. Both the original in the 'Last Live' version and the cover, I can only warmly recommend to you. But before you do, you might want to put seatbelts on your chair. 😏🔥🤘🏻 _____________________ 「 _'Our rock never dies ever. Forever!'_ 」 --- *BAND-MAID* 'Manners' 🕊
Yeah, this is great. Tamu's mustache is legit! 😆 I can say for sure, there is three female rock/metal bands coming out of Japan right now that are going to make it BIG. Lovebites, Band-Maid, and Nemophila. You can bet money on it.
There aren't many things in life that are a sure thing, but Nemophila covers are one of them. They've done dozens of them and every single one is it's own fantastic little gem.
Only did not care for the Bon Jovi one. I hate Bon Jovi and though Mayu was working it the instrumentalist seemed bored. They are so above Bon Jovi in technical skill.
I second the split screen version. You can watch it on your own. Nemophila always has Easter eggs in their covers, which makes them fun to watch. I’m sure you caught Tamu’s mustache right? There are quite few in this song.
And the left hand of the drummer grips the stick in the pencil-grip style that she does not usually do. It's another homage to the Journey's drummer -- as well as the mustache.
Here's a comparison video some RUclipsr put together between Nemophila's video and the original Journey music video. 【Side by Side Video Comparison】NEMOPHILA vs. Journey's Separate Ways ruclips.net/video/mq5b5-e9Ico/видео.html
Released the same week as MARY'S BLOOD's final concert...coincidence? Knowing how NEMOPHILA covers are chalk full of Easter Eggs this could SAKI's farewell to them. 🌸✨🌠
For me, Nemophila is the best band for covers, They usually pay homage to the original artist in costume or make up, Kiss Detroit Rock City great example, or dance moves or here, they were doing the video Journey did to some degree. Tamu with the mustache and holding the sticks different like Journey's drummer.
JOEL, SORRY TO SAY THERE ARE SOME HATERS THAT SAY BAD THINGS, LIKE JBANDS JUST COPY AND RIPOFF WESTERN BANDS. IT IS ORAL HISTORY TAUGHT TO ME THAT JAPAN LOVES AMERICA AND ENGLAND DEARLY. THE MUSICIANS FOLLOW THE CULTURAL TRADITION OF HONORING THOSE THAT CAME BEFORE. JBANDS WILL NEVER EVER FORGET THE PIONEERS OF ROCK AND METAL. I CAN SEE THAT YOU ARE AN EXCELLENT AMBASSADOR OF WORLD ROCK/METAL, THANK YOU. BTW, TO SEE SILLY AND EXCELLENT DANCING TRY, ''ONE NIGHT CARNIVAL', COVERED BY NEMOPHILA. IT IS NOT METAL AT ALL BUT FUN AND CATCHY.
Since you are checking out stuff from Japan... I highly recommend WAGAKKI BAND. They are amazing. Here you go: ruclips.net/video/jActdM3Bfc8/видео.html

This video is a full tribute to the music video of the original song

Espectacular cover de Nemophila 👌 La reina de los covers alucinantes! Me gustó mucho saludos!
😎👌
You can tell the girls had a fun time with this song. And yes Mayu should do a Stevie Nicks cover!!

I absolutely LOVE the little nods to the original video!

These Ladies Rock..You have to check out Detroit Rock City ..
Best band around at rock / metal covers .There are some crackers on there YT .Love to se you do more of them .
Mayu, with her raspy voice she would also be good at Texas style blues.
You should check out the cover of shout at the devil from this band
Need to watch their cover of Motley Crue - Shout at the Devil.
