I kind of figured you would use this method. I do the same even though I live in Pensacola FL zone 8b/9A we still get from time to time temps below freezing like last December when it was in low 20s for 3 nights. Plus it’s easier to harvest pups when needed. Thanks for sharing this great tip

Hi Rusty. Thank you for such an informative series of video's on the Bromeliad family. Im just starting out on my Bromeliad adventure in the South of the UK.
It started out courtesy of Craig @ Grow Paradise and now continues courtesy of you Rusty. My current B family consists of :-
    Nidularium schultesianum 'Fireball'
    Nidularium schultesianum 'Striped Fireball'
    Vriesea ospinae 'Forest'
    Vriesea 'Era'
    Billbergia's
    "Elegans"
    "Hallelujah"
    "Darth Vadar"
    And "Casa Blanca"
    And Neoregelia
    "Gazpacho" and "Fireball"
3 in a blended "jungle mix" with added "Pumice" and standard "Jack's Magic" compost.
    2 in just forest moss
And the Gazpacho in a orchid type hanging basket, and at the moment no medium.
Got 4 more enroute from Madeira as we talk, most having seen you mention them on your channel. Its an expensive habit !!! 😂😂😂😂
    Many thanks Rusty
    Phil

Thanks for the great tips Rusty. I have potted them in larger Tropical pots in past summers by sinking the pot right in amongst other plants which are directly planted in the pots. I do this with some of my smaller plants that don’t grow the fastest in my Zone 4b garden. An example would be Crotons that I will overwinter as houseplants. It never occurred to me to try in the ground. Thanks again and Happy Growing!

How About if we live in above 90’s we can’t put them in the garden w/ full sun.

Fortunately, temperature is secondary to latitude. The more direct the rays of the sun are the less our bromeliads seem to tolerate unfiltered sunlight. But remember, where intensity is a factor, the duration of exposure is just as important. Thanks so much for your comment, I really do appreciate you watching!
