dude i have an a45 mapped and when my mate took me for a spin in his 460hp/490ftlbs m140, i was damn shocked how quick it moved compared to mine. he did say in the wet he'd prefer the 45 thou. but yea, you're right that it will feel like a step back for sure. plus there isnt much scope to tune with it being a 2 liter already putting out 420hp from factory.
Take it to est performance you won't regret it, go straight to stage 2 🤙 and get either a back box delete or a res delete my mate has one and its just insane
I do like the 45s and after previously owning a m140i it would have been a good choice but not for the big price new. People say "yes but where's the drama with four wheel drive compared to the rear drive m140" My view on that after owning a m140i is, power without control maybe fun on a supermarket car park but not on a cold wet evening that we do get a lot of here in the UK
I’m seriously thinking of getting shot of my 20 plate Leon Cupra Lux for the A45S.. these cars are stunning. Great choice fella. Also the car would be fitting for my new job.

Luke, looking forward to where you take this one. I had an A35 Saloon for a couple of years and it was a pretty impressive machine so this new project is quite close to something I’m familiar with. And believe it or not I’m actually looking at going for an M140i at some point in the future once the time is right. Loved the convoy in this video, a BMW, VW and a Merc, lovely trio of cars and just awesome sounds. I’m sure the Merc will sound lively soon… My A35 always sounded best in sport+ with pops on overrrun which got pretty loud after the exhaust coked up with 10k on the clock from new.
Great performance but,it's not a 5 cylinder rs3! Also call me old but the other two just sound like kids cars,I really think you can ruin a great car by doing the "look at me!"tgdn regretting it!. Just look at the man like Ricky,had his mental r35,screamer piped ect and even admitted he spoilt it. Refinement always wins!.
@@s.-8406 In most cases, an RS3 will cope with 700hp better than a 2.0 Golf R, there's no denying that. I'm not saying those 2.5s are bulletproof, but they will most definitely be able to handle more power. This has been proven
Hi Luke , A big congrats on a stunning car and what a car it is. I do have an A35 hatch back on a 2020 plate, I adore the full AMG 45s unfortunately way way out of my reach hence having the A35. I have had Golfs and polos for as long as I can remember and only recently changed my golf R for a Mercedes. I’m really happy with it despite only being the baby of the AMG range.
Welcome to the A45s 💪 and it's not artificial sound, there's a mic in the engine bay and it's pumped into the speaker's, can't wait to see wot you do to it 👍
@@jd-lr7zu what Craig ment was - the sound isn't fake, it's the actual sound from the engine, not through a sound actuator, like a Golf GTD has the sound of a V6 coming through the speaker's. If I speak through a microphone, it's my voice, not your voice coming through the speakers, I know what I mean, I've got an A45s, I've had it for two yrs, ya doughnut 😊

To be honest, I despite exhaust modifications on street cars. The golf sounds awful. The M3 stock sounds amazing, as it should be. I guess I am getting old. I know when I collect my a45 in a couple of weeks is going to sound "worse" than my i30N... but then you compare the interior and they live in two different worlds.

@@ahorton6786 I don't know in smiles per gallon bit definitely in smiles per pound. Bought it new on the first batch at the end of 2018 and I am pretty happy with it. The only annoying thing is the Pirelli tires that come as stock. Otherwise, for 26k new that cost me at the time, you couldn't compete with it. It comes with everything as standard and I only needed to pay for the heated steering and seats (250£). The front and back seats are nice, steering wheel is amazing, but the rest is just cover in plastic... but it is still 26k!! The basic focus on 2023 cost 32k!

Had my 140i 3.5 years and still look forward to driving it each morning and taking mods slowly helps. I think I'd like the a45 for a weekend change then would want my b58 back but I'm curious what will be done to the a45 now its here

For sure, comparing a 2 L engine to a 3 L you will fell some diferences.
All about the usability of the power really, so maybe on roll on a dry day but otherwise no.
