    Hi. What does the isolated output do differently than the direct out?

    I need something like this for our in ear system. But I need it to have XLR INPUT on per channel and on sme channel have XLR OUT. And 1/4 out for the near do they make one?

    I am wondering about how much quality loss there is. I have a studio, with stageboxes, patchbays and a desk that I can use for headphonemix. I want to record with standalone converters and use their preamps and phantom power. I would get this box to be able to do an easy headphonemix, with zero latency. But is it worth it?

      Steen Bondrop you will always encounter impedance at some point in the chain. A xformer isolated splitter is a great way to eliminate signal loss. Radial and or whirlwind makes xformer isolated splitters if im not mistaken.

    Hi Darvin Jordan thank you for this informative video. It is very very helpful. I wish you can help me out if is possible. I have a mini recording studio. I actually have a focus rite ISA 428 connected to an ART Pro VLA II compressor and from the compressor to the dvx 166XL compressor limiter/gate and finally to my apogee duet which has a breakout cable with two XRL inputs, two monitors inputs and two 1/4" TS instrument inputs. I'm interesting in add a tube mic preamp, and since you are talking about splitter lines I would like know, if possible, how can I hook these two mic preamps within the same two XLR inputs. I will really appreciate any suggestion. Thank you again for sharing this awesome informative video

    Hi me and some friends want to start a show on RUclips and there's four of us. So we will need four microphones will we need a splitter for all four? Because we want to video our selfs to. So how can we record video and record sound through our mics at the same time ? Please get back to me thanks. :)

      It really depends on what you're doing. If you are musicians, a splitter is nice so you can create a live sound mix and a separate audio mix for the video. A splitter may not be a necessity. You can get the same result by mixing through the mains for video output and your aux for the live mix. If your just talking, you can just go from your mixer to the audio input of your camera (on a single camera setup).

    I have a question about my Ear Force XO Seven headsets by Turtle Beach. What kind of headset splitter would I have to buy to connect my mobile adapter cable, and my headset breakaway cable, and do you know whether if these headsets have a 2 Female to 1 Male connection, a 2 Male to 1 Female connection, or a 2 Male to 1 Male connection. The reason why I'm asking is because I want to combine mobile, and my audio into a 2 in 1 connection.

      I'm so sorry but that's a totally unrelated piece of gear and function. There are plenty of headphone distribution systems out there. Some as low as $40 and up to about $1200. That's what it sounds like you need.

      I actually have a Ear Force Mobile to Console upgrade kit for my Turtle Beach Ear Force XO Seven headsets, and they work really good with my Turtle Beach headsets

    What's the difference between the "direct" output and the "isolated" output? Also, is it safe/advisable to use this primarily as a line-level splitter? I can't find any rackmounted 1 to 2 XLR based line-level splitters anywhere. :(

    • @junejhunkie
      @junejhunkie 5 лет назад

      Dalton Randall you can push 48v phantom through the direct out.

    • @junejhunkie
      @junejhunkie 5 лет назад

      If you’re using mainly line level there are line level splitters from whirlwind or radial.

      @@junejhunkie So my Drummer has a phantom power kick drum microphone. The purpose of the splitter is to have one signal going to front of house and the other signal going to a UI 24 sound craft mixer for an ear monitoring. If I send the direct output to front of house then they will have phantom power coming out of this box? If I send the isolated output to the UI 24 then it will have no phantom power?Does it really matter if this unit has phantom power because The UI 24 has fantompower on any of the Channels anyway and I’m sure the front of the house board Has that ability as well. Is there a switch on the unit turns on Phantom power? I appreciate it if you can answer these questions

Is there a switch on the unit turns on Phantom power? Front of house should get first dibs on the signal and therefore should have the +48 on on the console, if you are splitting this signal make sure the console is on the thru and the not the split. and yes the console has that ability to turn on phantom power.

      @@junejhunkie so what I would do is : 1) condenser to the FOH through the direct out. Phantom power turned on at the main board front of house
      2) islolated output routed to the soundcraft UI 24 for in ear monitors. (a) will I need to turn on phantom power in this mixer as well?

    So in plain English...what does this do?

    • @jondnz
      @jondnz 3 месяца назад

      It splits up to 8 different channels (instruments) into two signals This allows a band to be able to connect to their own digital mixer to mix their in ears from their phone without interfering with the Front of house pa and vice versa. There are other applications but this is one of the most common uses
