Con algunas diferencias, en hapkido se permiten patadas bajas y barridos, ejecutar proyecciones y derribos, técnicas que en taekwondo por lo general no se incluyen en el entrenamiento aunque si existen
El hapkido es una mezcla de culturas japonesas y chinas. También se usa patadas frontales y laterales a la rodilla tanto hacia el lado posterior como anterior de esta, como en el kungfu. Tiene proyecciones como en judo, luxaciones como en el aikido, y bloqueos y patadas del karate, se ve también las patadas del taekwondo porque el hapkido es un arte marcial coreano como el taekwondo.
Muy parecido a los combates de karate de varias escuelas actuales. Interesante semejanza y ver como han evolucionado algunos estilos de karate y como se han distanciado algo del karate tradicional.

A year of dedicated boxing in a real boxing gym would elevate the game of both these fighters. And not just for the punching skills. Their balance, footwork , etc. would improve too. What has happened to hands up, chin down? Basics, basics!
I imagine they can not punch to head same can be said about level changing on the takedowns but it's just based on the rules and scoreing as to why they would elect not to do it
mike santini I don’t think so. There are overriding principles in fighting , especially stand up , that they are really lacking. It is easy to lower your hands an inch or two if face contact is not allowed, just as it is easy to adjust the arc of a punch to land on the chest instead of the chin. This is exactly how we adjusted our hands up fighting at my Tae Kwon Do school in the 80’s. I’ll tell you this also, adding boxing to my decades of training TKD was very beneficial, both in terms of practical self defense and the competitive , sport scene.

jajajajaja en custion de los joint locks si los realizas en un combate deportivo seguramente vas a salir tu o tu contrincante con algun hueso roto o dislocado y no se trata de eso, la tecnica circular precisamente es mas para realizar agarres , proyecciones y luxaciones, por lo mismo no se ve, en cuanto a las proyecciones o lanzamientos estoy de acuerdo, en muchas ocasiones pudieron haber uilizado muchas proyecciones de judo y no las hacen, parece mas tkd aunque en tkd no hay barridas como la que realiza el del casco rojo, entonces basicamente no es que solo sean coreografias o que solo se puedan realizar en el cine, hay la posibilidad enorme de salir lastimados severamete con los joint locks.

They are not trying to kill each other . Just make the points in order to win the fight. And they need to be smart to save some energy. It nos only one fight per day. There are about four or more per day to be able to win the gold medal

I agree. This looks nothing like the techniques that are on every demo video where punches get stopped dead and guys get flipped and thrown all over the place.
That's what is done in Muay Thai and Koyukushin. Helmets and padding mean true fighting combat ability is only halve tested. I've know seemingly tough people rendered scared and incapable once they feel the sting of real unprotected hits. They may be seemingly high ability fighters when covered in gear, but it's a false test
So a TKD person will give off the impression to his friends and work mates that he is 'a bit of fighter / martial artist' but this is a false impression as he wont have told them that to be a real fighter you must face regular unprotected full fights. If any TKD person doubts the drastic difference protective gear makes, remove all your gear and 2 of you have a proper full on fight - don't hold back or do some sort of tea dance / Aikido style demo, just fight and see the difference, being sure to properly punch to the stomach bare fisted ect
Joel Garza Lopez yo entreno hapkido y si serviria por que aqui muy bien se ve que por el momento no utilizan llaves si se utilizaran en un torneo seria mucho mas rapido el combate, aparte seria odvio que en una pelea callejera ellos serian rapidos lo que pasa es que uno en un torneo asi podia optar por esperar al que primero pegue y hay si atacar al momento de que el otro ataque uno tambien ataca.
