I love Ryu’s scene. He doesn’t even *need* words. Also, really liking the fact Ryu meditates. Makes sense for his character.

In my opinion they never captured the glory of Ryu from the 90s and mid 2000s. He is kinda lame in some ways with lines like "the answer lies in the heart of battle. This is the way of the hado." He was more like a wise martial artist for real back in the day.
I love sparring with Ryu and I like the way I became his student.

I suppose we can only imagine what becoming Akuma's student would be like. Probably a lot less 'instruction' and more 'if you survive, you pass!'
Considering canon... that'd be more his final test: going a whole round against him and surviving. Teaching itself, he'd probably would be relatively hands off beyond the ocasional Sesion From Hell, probably setting you with some expectatives like killing an animal with your own fists
I'm more than Inclined to think that you wouldn't be able to learn his fighting style if you even get to meet him(come notify me a year later when I get goofed on lmao)

It really helps a lot since there are people who overexert their body to be strong.And you don't have to put in so much effort (physical) to be strong.

I love how the main character is learning the technique of every fighter’s he started off weak but he’s getting a little bit better at it slowly but surely no doubt about it
Meanwhile JP, I don't need to teach you anything, just shoves the Purple into your body
Canonically you're the strongest new blood in the story so yeah learning every characters moveset and mashing them into one style is like your character's way of saying that you're the strongest dude around.
Main protag is a legit hardworker.

I love how supportive they all are. Instead of being cocky and saying "you better not disappoint me" or something like that, they are telling you that they are proud of your decisions and that you can do it.
The only ones who aren't are Juri and JP. Juri's kinda unhinged and mainly wants to see you squirm, and to JP you're more like a test subject.
@@ShiverwarJuri seems almost like she IS teaching you, but in the motivations she herself was thought. In all, her power and training was fueled by spite. While you're still on friendly student terms with you, Juri wants to instill her philosophy "if you wanna be strong, you gotta have someone you wanna beat at being stronger."
If she can get you to see her as a superior to surpass, not just by respect, but by sheer spite, then you understand the core of her twisted version of taekwondo.

@@nightmarearcade2663 Not Blanka the character being racist in-universe, but the fact that the only Brazilian rep in the series at the time was "dumb feral jungle man." Granted, I'm not sure I'd call OG Blanka a racist caricature exactly, since I don't know any stereotypes about Brazilians that say they're green gorilla-men who spin-dash through the jungle, but that's probably what they were talking about.
I love that these cutscenes aren’t just “you are now on par with your mentor.” It’s still showing that you have a long way to go, much like anything your trying to get better at.
Like, sometimes your ass is shown getting kicked.
All of these are just the mc's first sparring match against them. If anything, the guy/gal being able to copy and adapt to any fighting style to the point of creating their own makes them a pretty broken character.

Yeah, you impress them with your adaptability and enthusiasm, but don't magically become as good as them in a few weeks. More martial-arts media should depict training that way.

@@lamiamekni2802 Q is a mysterious fighter that appeared in Street Fighter 3 and he's pretty interesting since he's barely been in any other Street Fighter game before ans because we don't know much about them
Imagine Kratos shows up and says “Make a deal with the god of war, kill your wife and kid, kill multiple other gods, kill your mom, kill your dad, commit suicide, get better, marry a giant woman, have another child, burn your second wife and take her ashes to the top of a mountain. Only then can you master Spartan Rage Style”
Honda's scene is my favourite
His message to our character is a great one for anyone getting into fighting games

Its funny that I actually cried while watching Honda's cutscene. I was a former rikishi in Japan, training to join the professional league before I had to leave due to familial responsibilities.
I trained at the sumo school in Tokyo for almost a full year but had to drop out in the final few months. I was devastated giving up my dreams of becoming a true wrestler, but before I left my senpai told me something that I'll never forget.
"No matter who you are or become, you will always be one of us. There's no shame in letting go, only shame in giving up who you are." (Translated of course)
Considering me at 8 years old wanted to become a sumo wrestler because of E. Honda, to me actually living that short albeit cherished dream really hit me in the end, hearing him say that to me.
"Nobody ever got strong without losing, don't lose hope."

Dancing is actually a really good base for Footwork and finding the right Balance between tension and looseness of the Body
Well when you think about it treating fighting like dancing isn’t exactly that bad of an idea fighting has been described as a dance of death for hundreds if not thousands of years besides in many fights in both real life and fiction the step or attacks of a fighter can be compared to many musical beats most famously the iconic drum beat of Queens: we will rock you
@@MT-jd8pc exactly, plus if we're really getting into the parallels of fighting and dancing, they both can be defined as improvisational, or spontaneous, because you never expect what moves you make or see, and it's all done to specific beats (timing) as well.
Deejay has a good point, though. Fighters often respond to an unspoken natural rhythm. If you can't feel the rhythm as things happen around you, then how can you adapt?
As a Ken main, i truly needed to have Ken himself as my master. Gotta improve that one single braincell of mine, even it's just one.

Protagonist is shaping up to be some final boss material if they ever made them into an actual character. He might not be the strongest fighter, but his shear adaptability and power/style accumulation is nothing to sneeze at.

This really reminds me of Mortal Kombat's Konquest mode where you had Shujinko travelling across the realms meeting new characters and learning their movesets.NRS should really consider bringing back Konquest Mode alongside Kreate a Fighter.

The protag is CLEARLY in training, dumbass.
Why else would Guile be teaching him in the first place? To help him learn techniques and improve on them when he messes up so he can get better at it. Calling him a "dummy" the entire lesson isn't gonna magically make him a professional, that's just gonna tell him that he doesn't have a chance.
You can't just offer to teach someone how to do something and then turn around and call them "dumb" for not immediately getting it first try, that's not how learning works.
The disrespect you have to say that to someone when you were the exact same way when you first started out is just childish and proves you shouldn't be teaching anybody about anything💀

Custom Characters in the setting of every video game I could think of are something else man.
This game’s no exception, we just show up to learn the meaning of strength and then suddenly in like a month or two we take the _endgame_ movesets of some of the most legendary fighters around the world.
I mean if Sakura could pull off a hadouken by herself why not? Lol
@@トーキ-g8v Right? She didn't even have anyone to teach her, she didn't even get to see Ryu do it in-person, she saw him do it on TV and just figured that shit out herself. If that's a canon feat in this franchise, anything goes.
Imagine being someone who can have their body become anything you want, have the ability to mimic other people's fighting styles somewhat easily, including some superpowers, and also not having a real reason to do any of it

In ryu scene, he make sure that his student does not trained with premise of hate and rush. The flower circling probably represent harmony of movement and also tells ryu that MC is really focused doing the kata. After that, ryu back to train his mind.

Kimberely is the only one that feels a bit to much like the style I mentioned before. She's not evil, but she tricked you into jumping off a building, like, girl, come on.

Never in my life did I ever think we'd get a custom character that would end up being spotted by Zangief of all people. XD
I wonder if getting the DLC masters will require you to learn styles from other masters in order to unlock their styles.
For example, getting Ed's style requires you to get JP's style as you need Psycho Power, you need Lily's style or apptitude of wind to get Rashid, and you need to unlock Ryu's techniques of Ansatsuken to get Akuma.
What about AKI? She's rumoured to have poison abilities, so I can't think of someone that would serve as bridge to her. Maybe by making her someone that either Chun-Li or Cammy would take notice and be on alert about it

Given that ALL the masters is this entire base roster, it's a good reminder that in the end of the day, there is no real good or evil, just life interacting with each other through strength and skill.

Probably not a new take but I would love for Dan to be a teacher because in lore, apparently Saikyo is actually a really strong martial art if it wasn’t for Dan’s incompetence

So if you give sir photogenic a Dan base and give him the actual Ryu/Ken moves (and Sagat if he comes out) he’s trying to imitate with the stuff unique to Dan, you can make a “true” Saikyo practitioner and show what Saikyo is really meant to be
Not to mention I'm sure Dan would be absolutely PSYCHED to just have an actual student for once
