There was a period where i stopped for a while, but then I went full on and studied music for a while. Yeah, I do it all by ear... I normally listen to the piece of music over and over, then try play the melody along with it, then add in the bass etc. Sometimes one piece is harder than the other... Sometimes it just falls into place straight away :) Practice, Practice, Practice!
