If anyone is looking at this and is interested in getting one, but feels disappointed with the range, make sure to check out Explosive Enterprises video(s). To get the best out of APS MKIII shells, especially the X-Power versions, they should be charged with CO2 from a siphoned CO2 bottle; i.e the Sodastream canisters. This setup will allow the user to adjust injecting CO2 gas into the shell (by pushing the shell on to the top of the bottle) or by injecting CO2 liquid into the shell (by pushing the bottle onto the shell), greatly increasing the velocity and range of the projectiles. As seen in this video, 12g CO2 capsules do not do these shells justice.

I purchased a cam870 mkIII with Xpower shells about a year ago and I can attest that the performance in this video is nothing like I’ve experienced with my 870. With .28 bb’s I’m getting ~380fps. And with first strike paintballs (which fit perfectly in the shells and barrel) I’m getting 400+ fps and a perfectly straight trajectory for ~ 150 ft due to the spiraling on the first strike shells. Needless to say I can’t field it with the first strikes but it would actually be effective as a deterrent due to the muzzle energy with the first strikes.
Intresting, my FCW Striker 12 can rotate the drum on safe without shooting. And those are basically the same gun. I also recommend the video of Explosive Enterprises on the gun and on APS Cam 870. They are essential to the use of this system. I get easy ranges of 45m without any angleing.
Seems like a nice plinker toy/ specialty airsoft for usage when clearing a room in an airsoft skirmish. Seems nice enough for the price, and one can cycle it faster than pump action cam 870s, as it is a double action design.
So it's an upgrade on that modded gel blaster then? It would be nice if some company takes a bit further in practicality by somehow using tri-shot cartridges that be ejected after multiple shots with each so you can still have 12 cartridges but more shots. Perhaps using a similar sear system to tri-burst multi sears that GBB's use but in semi auto rather than full auto, would be complicated but doable and there could be a gas reservoir in the grip like other stockless gas shotguns.

Live and die by APS.. people bitch about the low fps but you can get that up with less BBs. Very comparable to any other shotties that load 3-6 at a time.
When I preordered it on Evike it said the mk2 system (gas in the shotgun) so I bought 25 of the shells (~$100 for 25) but today it got here and it only uses mk3, I don’t feel like spending ~$40 on only 5 shells
