Well hey, if you respect his musical knowledge, wouldn't you at least hope to enjoy the music he actually makes? Personally, I enjoyed it, though it was a slightly unusual way to create a tune.
Me Listening: "What year is this? ...uploaded jan 3rd, 2020? is that what the current year looks like? this can't be current year." Sideways in the description box: "Calm yourself, this is an old video."
Y'know, by the notification, I thought this'd be some musical analysis of leitmotifs and themes in general shared between Ocarina and Majora that connect the two games in ways that'd otherwise go overlooked, but I'm pretty okay with this instead.
Only true intellectual understand the unique perspective he implies with his timing and motifs in this piece. Stunning. Someone of my intellect can also grasp the musical genius of the conception of this masterpiece. I feel bad for those who don't see the subtle critique of society and common mentality found in this composition. Again, stunning.
Weird place to leave something like this I know, and please know that I 100% understand suggestions are... suggestions, and that I won’t bat an eye if completely denied, but I really felt compelled to ask if you know about Danganronpa after coming across something about it recently. I’m not sure how you feel about anime or anime styles, as this series goes pretty heavy into the stereotypical tropes, but if there’s one thing the series is known for excelling at, it’s the music. I’m not sure whether the music is worth evaluating or even playing the game over to you, but to me it kinda sets the series apart from literally anything else out there. At least anything out there that I know of. Made that longer than it needed to be. Long story short Danganronpa has good (to me) music that defines the series and comfortably sets it apart from those in a similar genre (visual novel). It’s also a damn good game, if you can play along with the writing most of the time. Highly recommend it either for a video or personal enjoyment. And again please don’t feel bad for telling me I’m a dumb asshole that has no idea what he’s talking about (but try not to block me bc I really like your videos). (Oh and I should also add that the voice acting is sometimes emotionless with a small chunk of the characters, so keep that in mind. Sorry for the long read if you bothered. I’m an annoying person).
Got my hopes up thinking this was a music analysis of oot.

Dmillz isn't it though?
No child, its something stranger and more wonderful!
Me too! Lol
Lol me too, but I still enjoyed it, it was so fun
so that's what you go to music school for
I'm tempted to change my degree if it could help me make something so awe inspiring
@@goldencalf13 it won't you gotta do it yourself
LOL.
Sideways during college days must've been a partier.

you're a time traveler
@@Smugly33810 nah the Sweeney Todd video was re-uploaded. Plus he talked about the dias irae a bunch of times before

The sting from entering the Hyrule Fields and the doodley-doo of rotating the menu are just ingenious in this.
Also, the whole thing is great.

"oh nice a video game score analyses !"
......
nvm ....
(still nice shitpost tho)
Are all these samples/clips at the original pitch? Because it's really cool how it all fits together harmonically.
Yes
I think they are yeah
Neat thing, nearly every song in the game is in the same key due to alot of the themes needing to be played on the ocarina
I was so ready for a in-depth analysis of something. This was equally amazing.
Me happy thinking it was about Zelda music, but somehow not sad, cause this is a master piece
I was hoping for an analysis, but wasn't disappointed.
I'd love to see a sideways secondary channel that's just full of this kind of content!
Even if it's a shitpost, it's still really well made!
My body after hitting my elbow on the corner of the table
Lmao 😂😂
Oof
A surprise to be sure... but a welcome one!
you have no business giving me 2006 youtube flashbacks
This is the sort of content youtube was made for.
And here I thought it was gonna be a collab with 8-Bit Music Theory
The beginnings of Sideways becoming a RUclips Poop channel
..... No.
yes
@@sentientblender maybe
This is exactly the musical weirdness/awesomeness that I try to find on RUclips 😍 It’s going in my playlist with the other weird remixes!
thank you, kind sir. you are a gentleman and a scholar.
wait a minute are these not pitch shifted? :O wow
this is dope either way
3 Years later and people are still finding this slammin' af ;)
I came here for long form video essays, but I stay for this
The betrayal and joy I felt when I thought you did a video about Ocarina and Majora but then being disappointed then laughing my ass off
Man, this stuff SLAPS!!
We are on a 10 year cycle 2020 will contain nintendo youtube remoxs and youtube poops

Are this the Leitmotives for the regions?
This is such a bop I’m subscribing
Ah, this genre of music. Nice beats. Also "lost his mind over a goddamn stick!".
I don't know what black magic this is but it's been on repeat for an hour and I'm still having the best time
Damn't Ethan, this is now in my 2020 list of bangers
Minus ten thousand points for not starting with
"HEY, LISTEN! HEY HEY HEY LISTEN!"
The best video on this channel.
I love the leitmotives ;)
Simply wonderful.
this gave me too many flashbacks
This pleases me.
I love this too much.
Wasn't what I expected, but it was wonderful. I lmao at the text.
This is so good! I love it
You have a good sense of form, Sideways.
The scream is the best part
I clicked on this legit thinking that I was about to hear about the use of music in OoT. Can't say I'm disappointed tho
So this was how the madness of 2020 began...
To be fair, those sticks are pretty dam useful. :P
For real, you can only make this out of sheer love
This is surprisingly good.
sick beat dude
This video is underated man
This is pretty amazing, coming from another musician! :D
Never played this but I can appreciate it even though I get noooone nostalgia from it :) creative and fun ✌🌟
Majora's Mask is best zelda game
This should've been titled "Why Nintendo had the greatest soundtrack ever" . We want your essay on this!!
Me before the video: I can't wait for some amazing music analysis...
really just feels like you're going out of your way to avoid vocalists at this point.
neat. now I want an OOT musical analysis. hhueuehuehuehue
I was deeply unprepared for this
love it
Not going to lie I really liked it, and it'd be interesting to see similiar little things from time to time.
Yes. I love this.
If you were to actually make a video on the music of Legend of Zelda, that would be dope
I would be totaly down with that.
0:00 Is that the beginning of the Gerudo Valley leitmotif?
First sideways video of the decade, tbh not disappointed
Not gonna lie, this made me SUPER anxious for some reason.
This goes so hard
Why do I like this? Hahaha this is genius!
Certified "Neato Burrito!" :3
I want a breakdown analysis of this song
This was actually great aha
I approve of this content! Great mix B)
idk what i was expecting but this is neat.
Bro- pass the blunt
This has major Seth everman vibes
Pretty good actually
Well done!!! This is quite the groove
You should review Disney’s 1995’s tall tales. One of the best soundtracks in my opinion.
It’s all about leitmotifs...
This is very cool
officially,
MY JAM
Hey, you... You uhh... You got anymore of them jams?
This is the anthem we will have as we enter the WW3 battlefield
Has anyone ever seen Sideways and Chris Kogos in the same room at the same time?
I love all of your videos! When are you going to do one on Zelda music? I would love to see your opinion on them!
Not a lietmotif in sight
Duuuuuude, very noiiiice

I was.... not expecting that.
XD
That's just great. But what is the voice at the end with the darkness?
Beautiful.
This is good shit
It was very entertaining, I've no complaints whatsoever
